@@buffalosoutdoors I have to admit man, Ruger definitely makes quality revolvers that are built like tanks, which is why I bought myself a GP100 in .357 Magnum about 2-years ago and is one of my carry guns.
i'm actually looking into getting a .44 Magnum revolver, either the Model-629 from Smith-&-Wesson or the Ruger Super Redhawk. i'm leaning more towards the Super Redhawk, since one of my Australian buddies used to hunt wild hogs with one and it was his idea that I get the GP100 that I now own.
Besides, if i'm gonna upgrade my Desert Eagle to .50AE (I technically have "YOU" to thank for that) potentially for my 45th birthday, the Ruger Super Redhawk in .44 Magnum will be a perfect side-grade, as i'll still have rounds leftover to save for a rainy day.

My Super Redhawk has been around for about 33-34 years, that i bought new. It has the very best trigger ive had on a pistol. I put it on a scale and its about 6.5 on the double action and 2.9 on the single and this is factory set and never molested in any way. I do carry a 5.5 inch Redhawk that i take going fishing or hiking or out riding out to some of the outer farms just for hog and coyote.

Posting from the UK I really appreciate these handgun videos. We lost our handguns in 1997 after the Dunblane tragedy which basically destroyed handgun ownership here apart from American civil war type black powder revolvers. Back in 1980 I purchased a S&W 696 44 magnum which at that time had recessed cylinders, how I wish I could own it now. Please don't allow your politicians take you guys and gals to go down that road. Great videos Buffalo, keep it up.

Fine shooting double action at those distances! A 7 1/2" SRH 44 Mag. was the most accurate revolver I ever owned. It was good enough I went ahead and scoped it to take full advantage. A smoothing of all "rubbing" action surfaces and a good spring kit gave it an exceptional trigger.

@@garthc5994 if you buy the spring kit you get three different hammer spring weights and two trigger return springs. You have to test your gun. My Ruger GP100 had light trigger strikes on double action shooting with the lightest hammer spring. The lightest trigger return made the trigger too light for my taste.

I just bought a brand new one today. I have lots of brass, reloading dies, bullet molds (even Elmer Keith Classic) for many years but never had the gun to use it in. I figured it was about time to change that. Prior to this my largest and most powerful handguns are 10mms and a .357 Magnum. I've wanted a .44 Magnum for a very long time and have been doing this since 1982. When the small/medium caliber stuff isn't getting it done, I can reach for this now.

Hi Buffalo. Years ago the Redhawk Sights were as today steel, but years ago the Security Six blade was steel, but the sight was aluminum. I remember seeing Security Sixes the to be repaired in the gun rack in Border Patrol headquarters. It was filled with Security Sixes with broken rear sight assemblies. When I was stationed at the Border Patrol Academy Firearms Division we had the occasion to obtain 120 new Stainless Steel Security Sixes and knowing the the aluminum read sight was the achilles heel of that weapon I was able to have Redhawk rear sights installed that were all steel in lieu of the standard Aluminum assembly. Big difference!

Please keep up your skills "aimed" towards target accuracy, (like 25 yard groupings) and don't go down the road of just shooting up "stuff" as other channels do, who are not gifted with your true marksmanship skill. Don't need frivolous entertainment, just enjoy true accuracy!

Love my red hawk in 44. It was my first pistol.

Nice video, I have same revolver and noticed that after 18 rounds I need to put the gun in a bag of ice, shooting same Winchester white box ammo. Lots of fun. Thanks

I had one just like it with 9.5" barrel, traded it for a .44 mag SRH Vaquero that I love. Wish I could have kept the SRH, best hunt handgun I ever owned, very accurate, soft shooting and handled long for caliber cartridges.

The .44mag is the 30-06 of handgun calibers. It can do pretty much everything well enough. Especially with handloads.

Can’t wait to get one. All of Rugers wheel guns are so hard to get since Corona hit.

The only BAD THING about this video is watching those 44Magnum brass cases dumped to the ground LOL. Great video and simply awesome review. Ask Northeast Kentucky if you can hold on to this one for a while so you can do a comparison with a Redhawk. I like the Redhawk better simply for the aesthetics/look/lines of the Redhawk.

Great shooting Buffalo. When I can get to a range with a conventional DA/SA revolver I always do the majority of my shooting in DA, but I agree with you if shooting at any game animal a shooter should take every advantage to insure a clean kill. And for someone like me who routinely carries a DAO revolver every round I fire in DA be it from one of my S&W model 29s or my 454 Casull Raging Bull or Judge just adds to my DA skils. Another fun and entertaining video.

You turned that wheel gun into a sniper. I can only imagine being that accurate.

Just started watching your channel. Very enjoyable. Yes Sir, those Super RedHawks are fine revolvers I have two. Also some fine shooting! Agreed 44 Magnum is a fine Cartridge!

I've actually shot one with a scope on it, an damned if it wasn't accurate. Shooting for accuracy at 100 yds it grouped about 3 in's. Loved it, next we went to shooting steel an it was a ton of fun hearing that smack.
