Can't wait for Lucid's version of the Model 3. I'll be first in line and sell some of my shares to buy one. Please make it a hatchback Peter.
Derek Jenkins, Lucid's chief designer, came from Mazda, where he designed the current generation of MX5 Miata. Rawlinson was VP of vehicle engineering at Tesla, of course, but before that he was chief engineer at Jaguar and Lotus. Before that he designed and built small open top sportscars for racing.
It's only a matter of time until we have a small light 2-door roadster out of them.
Check out the VW ID4 or the new Polestar. Polestar is Volvo's performance team that are going to be separated from Volvo. If you have more cash look at the Cadillac Lyriq. Really good cars that are great value for money. I also would love the new Genesis GC60 - but not sure if that one is going to get delivered to the US. Anyway, don't order a Lucid, the delivered vehicles have two fleet wide recalls. They are junk - expensive junk.
@@alfred8294 Why are you exaggerating? They recalled 637 vehicles.
They have teased the project midsized and it looks to be a hatchback :D
I can't wait to dump my Tesla for a Lucid. I love the fact that Peter carries himself like a real CEO and he's laser focus on the success of the company
I hope this guy will succeed big time
Many Saudi-American partnerships can raise the value of the two important economies globally
Such as the manufacturing industries of oil, the final mining industries, logistics services, advanced industries in technology and information, cooperation in research centers and entrepreneurship.
As well as cooperation in supporting the Saudi Public Investment Fund for emerging American companies, and Lucid Company is one of these fruitful partnerships between the two countries
Peter is KASHOGGI when he cant Repay the Saudis.
Yes, but Saudi Arabia needs to help in the fight against Islamist terrorism. Osama bin Laden leaves a bad taste in our mouths.
I trust Lucid will be a gigantic monster in Electric industry.
LUCID is a MASSIVE FRAUD.
LucidQ , Bankrupt , LCID to $0.
do your own Research.
Just don't put money on it.
@@bluetoad2668 Hey,Bra. Would you find out what is happening about Lucid? That is why you are still bra.
Lucid is on the brink of bankruptcy today. They sell little, lose tens of thousands of dollars on every car they make, and are bound to go bankrupt.
When investing in a GREAT company long term... you are investing in the CEO capabilities. Between Elon Musk and Peter... who do you invest the bulk of your money in? Why would an investor consider Lucid over Tesla? Or any other EV Manufacture for that matter?
We should be proud of what KSA is doing. Haters and doubters will be always there. Yes not everything is perfect yet, but they are indeed getting there!
Peter is KASHOOGI.
@@markplott4820 Peter is a bullshit artist. But you don't bullshit MBS. Lucid is collapsing - low deliveries, quality issues, heavy losses (and negative cashflow), outdated battery and self-driving tech. This could end badly.
I Love Peter! He is just Amazing!
Here is our future bagholder. Ahahahahahha
This guy is a genius
Peter is a FRAUD.
This guy is a bullshit artist. But his company is struggling.
Great interview would like to see some over the shoulder shooting they don't feel like they are in the same room together.
This is a dumb comment
Trillions of dollars backing Lucid - not bad
Trillions? NO. About 2 to 3 billion.
@@HeRacesTheSun Trillions - yes.
Doesn't really matter - unless they can deliver large volumes of cars - without quality issues. They are also running out of cash.
@@alfred8294 Having that backing doesn't matter? lol.
@@ItsBugsy Let me explain. They will run out of cash in 2023 - unless they get more investments. I am not sure that the Saudi's will keep putting money into a company that in Q1-2022 lost $2+ million per sold car. Also they don't have any new tech (they use 2170 battery and have no self-driving tech) that gives them an edge over the competition - so investment at a good rate will not be so easy.
they don't have a mass produced car yet and he's talking about aircraft 😂
No start up company has mass production yet, what an ignorant comment.
@@HeRacesTheSun I didn't say that I expected them to have mass production, only that jumping to aircraft seems a little premature.
@@HeRacesTheSun HAhahaha... and here is our bagholder! Your price is - no college for your kids!
Right now the best electric car in the Market
Engineering brilliance
Good
He is way more better than Elon Musk
With the difference that Tesla under the leadership of Musk is not facing bankruptcy, and Lucid is already preparing for it
ask him what the size of the luxury market is in that segment, it's way less than the target production for Lucid
What is the size of Audi, BMW and Mercedes? That’s the segment he is targeting.
What a dumb comment.
@@kinzashuja4801 no, he's targeting the more expensive luxury models of those brands and it's a small market segment. If lucid sell all their target production for 2025 they'll have taken 80% of that market, I don't think that's reasonable
Yes, this is true. Mercedes does not sell many S class cars.
Lucid is optimistically targeting 50,000 Air sedans per year total for all markets. The bulk of future sales will come from the Gravity SUV (see and reserve it next summer) based on the same platform. The market for luxury 3-row SUVs is much larger than for sedans.
Did he say 500K by 2025?
the bottom line is, there is no market for a $130,000 luxury car that is SLOW in 2022.
Starting price is $79k & it won the car of the year award.
Also, it has the best battery technology in the industry. Charging 520 miles in a charge. They offered their first customers 3 years of free charging!
People are haters cause they can't afford a Lucid. I am an investor and I believe they are the future of E.V. Gas vehicles are going to be like that dinosaurs in the future. Extinct. Get with the times.
@@Dream7773 Yeah but this car manufacturer is owned by Saudi Arabia so that's a big no thanks from me. I think I'll stick with American companies.
@@farzana6676 you're right but I hope it's not for the wrong reasons. I wouldn't have an issue with a foreign partner but I do have an issue with that particular one. From an investment standpoint I have strong reservations about a public company with so many shares in the hands of one entity - that alone makes the company not one that I could invest in.
@@bluetoad2668 Yes, also if it was a Western democracy that's a majority shareholder, I would be cool with it.
But not countries that don't share any of our values.
" Production is HELL "
This interview is a joke. Why didn't she ask about how many cars they have delivered this year? Why they have so many quality issues with their cars? How many recalls they have made? What they will do in 2023 when they run out of cash? How they plan to compete with out-dated battery tech (they use same battery cells Tesla used 5-10 years ago)? How they will compete with other companies that are working on self-driving tech (Lucid has a weak cruise-control system)?
I didn't know they use Tesla's old battery technology from 5 to 10 years ago, yet Lucid cars have a range of 500 miles. No Tesla has a range of 500 miles today. Maybe Tesla should go back to their old battery technology
@@IADHDD You are right Walid. In that Lucid clearly has the longest range. But it is just that they have more small battery cells in every car. This is very easy to copy - so any competitor can and will beat them. Also Tesla, Toyota, GM, VW, Benz, etc already have lighter, more powerful and cheaper battery tech in the pipeline. So by the time Lucid starts to produce more cars - the competition will have new generation battery cells (and also self-driving tech). Also Lucid will run out of cash in 2023 - unless more money is invested. I am not sure that the Saudi's will keep putting money into a company that in Q1-2022 lost $2+ million per sold car. And we know MBS is not someone you take advantage of.
Watch the Lucid produced video one their battery technology. its quite good. According the video they have developed new manufacturing techniques and battery design, this accounts for the improved range. I find it hard to trust Peter Rawlinson though. not sure why...
Elon musk said "lucid is like not practicing your sport and going for the olympics"
okay brain
Lucid better invest in some mega castings as well. Tesla is already eliminating hundreds of parts with their newest Model Y's that are being built in Texas and Volkswagen is planning to do the same with their future EV models. Lucid has built a more efficient power train, now they got to get to work on improving the manufacturing process itself to bring down the cost. I want Lucid to succeed but they got a long way to go to catch up to Tesla.
Another interview Since they drop their new ev 👀
4:02 straight up lying how pathetic, they have a much larger pack than most
I really wanted a Lucid but I dont know if I can stand behind the company now that they are building a international plant in Saudi Arabia. Like why? Couldnt raise money elsewhere? I mean you chose one of the worlds worst abusers of human rights.
he looks incomfortable. she has him ina hot seat. lol
Do Lucid still lose 1 M$ on every EV sold?
In 2021 they delivered 125 - and lost $4.7 billion. So they then lost over $30 million per sold car. In Q1 of this year they delivered 360 cars at negative cash flow of $870 million. So they only lost $2+ million per sold car now. They will run out of cash in 2023.
Lucid will not have a positive cash flow until the factory is fully completed. Construction is on schedule but it will be next summer at least to get it up to speed. When finished Lucid will make many components that are today made by outside vendors at great cost. 'Bears Workshop' here on YT posts regular drone flyovers of factory construction.
@@Miata822 According to the prospectus given to investors in the beginning of 2021 - Lucid had at the time finished production capability of 20k cars per year. Obviously that was a lie. The lies never end with this company. If they can't assemble cars - how are they going to build their own parts and assemble parts? Also do you really think they will save $2+ million per car by making some parts?
@@alfred8294 If you actually followed the company you would know they had a nightmare with production parts. The key problem was the windshield and roof glass....
ya know, I'm not gonna get roped in by another troll
@@Miata822 More excuses from Lucid. Hey, I am just stating the facts - you avoid the facts and instead call me a troll - Great. Again this company has lied about their production capabilities. They are delivering way to few cars. The cars delivered are rubbish and have TWO fleet wide recalls. They will run out of cash in 2023 - unless they get more investments. The company is absolute trash - yet it has a market cap of half GM and Ford.
Peter, is LYING. it costs more than $1 million for each lucid car and they are only selling for $130k . unsustainable.
Not true at all. Lol . Where did you get your numbers?
Lucid motors cant Execute or Produce.
Peter promiced 6,000 cars by Spring of 2021, Delevered less than 500 cars in all of 2021.
and Delivered less than 500 cars in Q1 22. Tesla model X outsold Lucid 10:1.
Tesla almost went bankrupt when they started producing cars .
I was hoping that he’d bring me more confidence in my lucid stock investment…but he’s no Elon Musk
Lol you realize their stock is long term if you heard what he said on the interview 😂
@@ucTrynabefound I have zero idea what led you to the conclusion I’m not a long term investor, but that’s on you. Yeah, I get it. It’s what he said and didn’t say that concerns me.

He was a Chief Engineer for the Tesla Model S. His voice makes me want to take a nap.
Thought he presented himself when, or at least compared to how he's stumbled through last two earrings calls. Something doesn't feel right. Could be nerves of the supply chain carnage. Car looks great. Am looking to see how they ramp production in q2. May take the plunge if they make decent progress. Ten years of solid oil sales, then diminishing returns, leaving a lot sand and some fancy hotels, they need this EV pivot. There were so many suspicious coughs when Peter was given tough questions in last 2 earnings, he needs polishing and less grandiose statements. Car does look way better than Tesla's. Keeping keen eye on Shanghai COVID rates, 1st June meant to be back to "normality" 🤞

You don't know this company and you haven't done your research. It was founded in 2007. They stated in their prospectus from Feb 2021 that they could produce more than 20k per year. They were supposed to do that in 2021. Instead they built 125 cars. This year they were supposed to build 20k cars. They have now downgraded that to 13-14k cars. In Q1-2022 they only built 360 cars. The cars that have been built are rubbish - and the whole fleet is being recalled twice! This company is trash.
