If your Stanby Clock is wrong, here is how to fix it ua-cam.com/video/VAQYF5BF3Yw/v-deo.html
Do you know why my phone counts standby mode as screen time? I can't seem to fix the problem. If I leave it on standby overnight, I get 7 hours of screen time and the day has barely even started! I can't find any solutions online.
Thank you as always nice content 🇨🇮😎
Thanks glad you enjoyed it!
great video...thanks for the answers
Thanks so glad the video helped!
I never knew i had this feature😅 thanks!
Yeah no worries enjoy!!
Thank You!
Very nice and well explained. Thank you for the video.
Thanks appreciate the comment, glad the video was useful!
Its wack u can only do it when it’s charging
Hi. I was able to change the color of the clocks while on standby yesterday. But, I could not change it now - tap and hold doesn't work. Did I lock it or something?
PLEASE HELP!!!!
hi , there is something similar for previous iOS (10..) ? thank you .
Thanks for concise informative video.
No worries glad it helped! Thanks for the comment
I thought only pro models will have the "always-on display" and thus this is kind of pointless unless you have the iPhone 15 pro or pro max. Is this right? THX!
ALOHA & MAHALO~🤙
I thought this was so stupid when I saw this in the keynote. Until I tried it. This is clutch as hell. Especially with the ease of checking the weather and my work calendar in an easy interface before bed. It’s useful in the office too.
Nice, I kind of felt the same way!
…clutch as hell.
When you have your phone on its side charging in standby mode with the split screen widgets. Say the weather widget on one side showing the temperature and the clock on the other side showing the time. Is there anyway to have a digital clock rather than the analog clock in that mode?
You are limited to what ever options they have. I can’t test this out at the moment but if it won’t let you choose then probably not.
Does it work on iPads?
I just got the iphone 15 plus today the standby mode does not stay on and I do not have that display option n my menu and I am up to date I checked it. I am thinking apple changed something :(
I am a bit disappointed the on the older models iPhones, such as my 12 Pro Max, the display does not stay illuminated all of the time. In other words ALWAYS ON is only available on the two newest model iPhones, if I am not mistaken.
Yeah unfortunately you need an iPhone with the always on display for it to stay on.
@@DHTV Sometimes, my phone will not even enter standby mode. It is a bit sporadic; sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not.
I think it’s the gyroscope maybe. Has to trigger that it’s been flipped.
I have an iphone 14 pro max with always on mode and it still dont stay on… it goes to sleep after a few seconds. No purpose of it if it wont stay on!!
I hate that when you press the lock button it doesn’t go black and just dims your Lock Screen. So imo you’re lucky you don’t have the display always on feature!
I just figured this out. My wife's 15 pro max, wasn't staying in night mode. I keep checking the settings, no good. Then it hit me, she has the flip ring on the back for charging, so I flipped it out the put it on the Qi charger, and it works great.
Nice, glad you got it figured out!
thsnks 👍
Glad to help!
What is the brand of the iPhone stand in the thumbnail (title page) for this video?
Oh that was a just a stock photo I got off pixler, I’m not sure what brand it is.
Thank you so much for the info i found it very useful
I have an iPhone 15 pro max and i always put my phone with only one display ( the biggest nber clock ) at night…my problem is when i turn off my alarm it automatically switch to another display although i deleted all those i was able to delete…i wish I could delete everything except the one display that i like the most so it will no longer switch, is that even possible?
No problem glad the video was helpful. I’m not really sure what you mean? When the alarm goes off the display switches to a different display within standby?
@@DHTV yep! If I hit snooze it doesn’t change but if I hit stop it automatically does, it switches to another display… it’s really weird! And yet I absolutely don’t touch any other button other than stop…
Is it just me lool!
That is so odd. I tried it 3 times just now. Each time the alarm came up when I stopped it, it just went back to the same Standby screen I chose. Try restarting your iPhone and see if it fixes it. Could be a glitch.
@DHTV yeah it could be...anyway you're so kind to take the time to answer each of our concerns...thanks a bunch!!!
No worries hope you get it all sorted out!
Wondering how to get the same display ie. analogue and calendar no option on the 13 pro max
As far as I know you can, just swipe right to be taken back to the widget and add it if it isn’t there.
How do you get the battery/charging level to show on the Stand By screens not including the one with the battery widget that you showed. I never see the battery level on the different clocks.
You are limited to just the options that Apple provides. Widget is the only way I have seen.
@@DHTV Oh ok. Thank you!!
I have my always on but it still dont stay on! Iphome 14 pro max….it shuts off after few seconds. Have tried toggling off the wake to motion still wont stay on! How do i get it to stay on???
Yeah, I am trying to figure this out. Others have mentioned this issue too. I would suggest trying to turn the setting on and off as well as the always on display In display settings. Try it with that one on, try it with that one off but make sure the option in the StandBy to always stay on is always on. The crazy thing about this situation is I have the iPhone 15 Pro and it never turns off or anything.
question, im thinking about getting an iphone. does the iphone 15 pro max have the feature like the macbook does where the the windows and status bar will dim from white during the day to dark at night? thanks
I am not sure what you mean?
@@DHTV well on the mac, its under appearance, then "Auto" it dims from the light theme then dark theme automatically at night. thanks thought
Which is the stand shown in the cover photo? Looks gray with a cord hole in the neck, near the base?
It was just a stand I found on Amazon but it isn’t listed anymore.
Thanks!@@DHTV
I have the 14 pro. This did not work for me... I put it in stand-by and horizontal, plugged on a stand. I had already updated to iOS 17.Still not reflecting anything horizontally. What am I missing?
iPhone has to be locked when you do this.
I have the same problem. I turned it on and off in setting and it still doesn’t work. And yes my phone is locked. I guess I may have to call Apple to figure it out 🤷🏻♂️
Does this mode negatively impact the battery?
I haven't heard anything regarding that, at least not yet.
On standby menu there is not an "Always on" option on older iPhones. Have you found a way to bypass it?
No, only newer ones who have always on can use that feature
@@DHTV I have the iPhone 15 Plus and it doesn't have the "Always On" feature either. Must be only for the Pro 15
That Would Have be Pretty Cool… If It Worked
It does work
So this will not work if it js not charging?
Correct
It only works on its side and plugged in?
Either like that or on a wireless charger on its side
Se apaga a los pocos segundos! No hay una manera de que esté encendido hasta que lo desconecte?
If you have an iPhone with the Always On display feature like the iPhone 14, having that on keeps it on. Otherwise it turns off when the screen goes to sleep. Always on display settings are in the settings app under display & brightness
I have an issue that I can’t find the answer to. I have the iPhone 15 pro Max and last years device, when I put mine in standby mode and use the clock on the left and calendar on the right, after about one minute my clock pic converts to a different version, all I see are the hands on a clock, it’s like it’s non functional, both my devices do the same thing, I can’t find online where any one else has this issue, if I use the digital version that one stays, I’m not sure what the deal is
Is always on display on in the standby settings?
@@DHTV yes it is, I’m not sure what the issue is but it’s super annoying
I actually took a video to show what it does but this site I guess doesn’t allow it
Does this harm the battery???
Mine works when it wants to…
Work on iPhone 13 Pro Max?
Yeah
Only when it's charging
Does this work on iPhone XR’s?
I believe so but the always on display doesn’t.
@@DHTV THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
No problem
Will it work on 13?
Yeah Standby works on 13
Apple wants you to upgrade every year. That’s why you can’t do certain things on older iPhones.
I mean for the most part the things older phones can’t do are not game changers.
To can’t keep stand by mode on unless you have an iPhone 15 or newer. That’ll save you 5mins
your current time is not the same on digital clock when standby mode
What do you mean?
It’s just a different time zone. That first analog “CUP” clock defaults to Cupertino, California.
Does this work w/an IPhone SE?
I can’t test it on that phone but I believe all iPhones that can update to iOS 17 can use this. However iPhone 14/15 models are the only ones that have always on display features so the display will turn off for other models after a while.
@@DHTV I played around the settings & got it to work👍
Great glad you got it all sorted out.
@@ROBYNMARKOWhow? What are the “magic” settings? I’m running ios 17 on an SE2020 and it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to with this
The “magic” seems to only happen when the phone in sideways AND on an angle in a stand AND in a darkened room. Is there any other way to get it to just work as soon as we turn it sideways, period?
Its not saving my color when i do what you say
What happens?
Same
It works on my iPhone 15 pro max and stays on all the time
Nice!
As many have reported - using your phone in landscape mode with standby mode on there's a huge risk that your alarm only rings once.
Really? Is there a link to some of these reports? I can't seem to find them but that is a huge issue if it is true.
But the stand by clock only stays on all the time on the pro models or it goes to sleep & you can’t see the clock @ night this is no good you never mentioned this 🤔
No the iPhone 15 standard model also stays on all the time. Just make sure always on display is turned on in the display setting of the settings app.
On my iPhone, 15+ I cannot find a always on display switch in the display/brightness option. Any suggestions?
Also, on my iPhone 15+ when I am on the standby page there is definitely no option to turn on or off always on. Is the iPhone 15+ different?
It doesn’t seem to work on my 12 mini
It should but you wont have always on display. Make sure it is plugged up to the charger.
@@DHTV I plug my phone into my charger(cord) and plave on its side and it doesn't switch to the clock. I can't figure it out.....
is it the 15? or the 15 pro?
15 pro but works for both the same.
so the display stays on, while charging, on both?
The display stays on while charging yes, not sure wha you mean by "on both"?
I'm using my iphone 14 Max Pro & it doesn't stay on. I tried all the setting. It goes off after a few minutes.😡 I like to use it as a clock if I wake up in the middle of the night & it doesn't work😢 If it's not going to stay on, then what's the purpose of it??
Always on display setting is on?
@@DHTV Yes
That’s very odd. All I can suggest is to restart the iPhone, make sure low power mode isn’t on and make sure it is fully updated to the latest version of iOS 17
@@DHTV I just updated to the latest IOS & it's still not working. It'll go off after about 30 seconds😢 Thanks for your help.
Unfortunately, I am not sure what is going on. If you have always on display on, it is supposed to stay on. In the always on display settings you have all options checked?
I have an IPhone 13 Pro Max. Standby does not work at all. I’ve done EVERYTHING 100% correctly. Updated to IOS17, there was also another minor update after that , I’ve plugged it in, put on side and NOTHING ! I checked all settings , everything is on and still NOTHING. don’t understand
Is the iPhone locked?
That’s right. Doesn’t work. Even when unlocked. What must we do to “force” it to work?
Finally got my 13pro to work with standby. Making sure the standby option is turned on in the settings, I then powered down the phone and then back on. Once the phone is on its side (plugged in too obviously) the 13 takes a few moments before going into standby, but eventually it came on. Also, a simple phone lock via the side button works for standby without a passcode if that helps older phone users.
Standby doesn’t work on my iPhone 12 😢
It should, make sure you are updated to iOS 17 and that you have the charger plugged in and phone horizontal on a stand.
Does not work on my IPhone 15 Promax
It should, make sure it’s plugged up
To the charger and set up
@@DHTV Got it, it worked! Thank you!
Nice glad it is all sorted out.
1
Doesn't work .
It does though
I thought we weren’t supposed to charge our phone to 100%?
If we use this all night,,,?
The iPhone has optimized battery options where it ramps up to like 80% and then using patterns in usual time the phone is picked up in the morning it continues the charge as close to 100% hopefully by the time you wake up. Look in the battery settings for the optimized battery settings
I have the 10 X Max but with the regular charger doesn’t work. Do I need a Mag Safe charger ?
If you have standby in all night your phone will be charged to 100% by morning,,,
Bad for battery health/life
Really was disappointing when I learned it only worked while charging. Apple 🍏 is a hustle.
I think its more to do with Apple already facing so much back lash over it's battery issues etc... Last thing they want is a display with running features creating more battery problems. I would say put a simple setting to turn StandBy on or off without the charger would be good.
You need an iphone 15 pro / 15 pro max/ 14 pro/ 14 pro max to do this, you are confusing people with your iphone 15 title
Actually no, Standby works on all iOS 17 iPhones (iPhone XS/XR up to iPhone 15 and newer when they are released. There is a feature called Always On Display which allows you to keep the Standby mode on all the time, this is the only feature of the Standby mode that is only for iPhone 14 and iPhone 15. With that being said, it's not a feature only built for Standby.
i have an iphone 15 always on is not a feature unless you have a pro model, what good is it if it turns off after a few seconds. Im running ios 17.1.2. dude just google it
@DHTV No, It does NOT ! 12 ProMax has the same problem that 99% seem to have. On for about 1.5 sec and goes blank. Tap to activate in a dark room is NOT standby. Own up !
Doesn’t stay on , even on my Pro 13 .
What a stupid useless idea 🙄🤦♂️
New iPhones have always on Display so it’s for those mainly but older versions can still use it to that extent
