Why the M109R is NOT for Sale

  • A lot of people have asked me why I haven't traded in or sold my 2007 Suzuki M109R for other newer motorcycles. Well, the reason is because the M109R is my original Dream Motorcycle. Even after owning other motorcycles and riding lots of newer motorcycles, I still have a thing for the M109R. Why is that? Let me explain.

My dream became a reality at the beginning of June... when I drove home on my 2019 M109R B.O.S.S. Been a long 13 year dream for me, finally realized. I can completely relate on not wanting to part with it's predecessor though. By pony before my 109, was a 1983 Honda Magna V65 1100. While that was not my dream bike, and it is older than I am,, the memories and history I've made with it over the past 16 years, will never let me part with it. I now have a 109, and something to keep me riding while I give my previous bike the tlc it needs, to keep going another 16 years 🤞. Ride safe, and if you're ever in the Nashville area, I'd love to ride with man. 👊

My dream bike was a Honda CBR929RR, which I kept for only one year. It just wasn't the bike I thought it would be. Today I ride a 2017 SV650 and I love its snappy v-twin engine and comfortable riding position. I say, if you find a bike that suits your needs, keep it.

My dream bike is a recent one. A softail low rider s. Test rode the 2020 model when it first hit the showrooms and it was love at first ride. I test rode it twice that day and kept looking back at it everytime we would switch bikes. Currently on a 2010 vulcan 900 custom that i have semi restored and is running like a champ, but my goal is to get either a 2020 or a 2021 low rider s and make it into a cali styled club tourer. Hopefully that dream will happen within the next year or so.

Growing up in the 90s kids had these bicycles with plastic frames to look like crotch rockets. I was 9 and wanted to ride ever since. I always thought I wanted a ninja but after it while it seemed like everybody had one.
After i got back from military i found and bought my first bike. A 2011 yamaha r6 orange and black. Rode that baby hard for 5 years before sold it.
Now gettin back in the game and want comfort style and power. My goal is to cruise, but i want to be able to call upon all those horses when I need them to push me thru a jam or somethjng. Love these videos, cant wait to have a 9 man

I already have my "forever(street) bike", it's a 1999 Yamaha Vmax, basically unchanged from 1985-'07. The first gen Vmax might not hold the fastest production bike title anymore, but it's still faster than most of the cruisers on the road today. I bought my aforementioned bike used in '06 with 5K on it, now it has about 40K, it's been very, very reliable and the bike is relatively simple to work on. Lastly, even though the first gen Vmax was discontinued in '07, Yamaha has made this model for so long, there is a plethora of new, used, and aftermarket parts to keep these bikes running for generations.

My dream bike is a Harley Davidson M8 Softail Fat Boy. There's something special and wild about that new M8 engine and softail frame.
The amount of customization I've got in my head and wishlists on revzilla and jpcycles for that bike is just...
I can't wait to get it.
IT's a bike that embodies everything I want out of a motorcycle.

I already have one of my dream bikes, Mrs Rebel has another one and I've got a third dream bike on the way! Don't hate folks, I ain't rich, I just ain't got kids and I'm obsessed with motorcycles! 😬
In all honesty the best motorcycle is the one between your legs. That's the bike that gives you the best adventures. Even when I didn't have two cents to rub together when I was riding around on a 535 Virago I was enjoying riding.
It's good to have new bikes to aim for, especially when you're getting swamp butt (need that climate controlled seat bud), but that 109 is a cult bike. If it works for you then there's no need to change just yet 👍🏼 (though seriously, don't replace it with the Rocket III or I'll be more than a little jealous)!

    • @BrandonBicasso
      @BrandonBicasso  4 роки тому +4

I'd love to have a Rocket III. I wouldn't know how to act, lol. But you're right. The bike doesn't really matter if you LOVE to ride. I had some of the most fun on a 250 Virago. I could ring that thing out without consequence. It was a blast.

This bike has took me out my misery from the breakup years ago and took me to beautiful places, just cruising enjoying the ride. I love this bike so much, I can't sell it no matter what.

This video really resonates with me. My first bike was a ‘98 suzuki marauder (predecessor to the m50) second was a 2015 M50, then a drz400 to change it up, and finally my dream bike now, a 2008 m109r. It is everything that I wanted the m50 to be, and the suzuki cruisers have been the only ones that have the perfect aesthetic to me. I have rode many motorcycles, but the suzuki cruisers have always just felt right. Every time I look at other bikes I jump on the 9 and I think about how it just checks all the boxes for me. I might get other bikes in the future, but the 109 will always be in my garage until the wheels fall off

My dream bike for the last 18 years is the VROD which I now own. there were other bikes I could afford during that time but, I always liked and wanted the VROD. My 19 year old, low mileage dream bike is living up to and exceeding my expectations and the exact opposite comments of some sales staff in several ways, the most important one being the overall positive feeling I get when riding it. There were other bikes, along the way, but I am thinking that I will keep this one for awhile. Your windshield comment on your Ducati test ride is the deciding factor for my next modification and upgrade. (The only negative with this upgrade is the annoying tie blowing turbulence I get from riding to and from work on my previous bikes with windshields. And Yes, I do get various comments on my attire while commuting and stopping at bike night events after work.)
Great video and you have a great looking, drop-dead gorgeous bike.

I have to say, you have a real skill with your videos and content. It's super enjoyable to sit back and listen/watch. My dream bike I thought was a 2018 Suzuki GSXS1000F. I've loved everything about it. It's been flashed, modded, and makes around 160 hp only weighing around 420 pounds. My gripe is, I have a bad back, and hurts after riding for an hour or so. I've been doing extensive research on the m109R, and I think I'm going to purchase a brand new 2019 model. It's time to make the change to muscle cruiser. I'm not quite ready for the full bagger/cruiser look, but I think I'll enjoy the comfort and power of the 109r. Much love.

I keep trying to find that dream bike, but I been coming back, and stuck to the Stratoliner 1900s and admire that they used Steel Tins for Fenders and Side covers, and first cruiser that sported a full aluminum frame. I have to have bags to load my gear and objects, even for a 2 hour ride. Just a couple weeks ago I rode a 2011 Roadking, and a 2018 Chieftan, I liked, but didnt like as much, either one for different reasons. The primarly factor was the refined nature of the Stratoliner in most all area; in broad controllable Power, braking, handling, clutching, shifting, the ride was fairly similar though, all that the Indian had over the Stratoliner was batwing stereo, and Cruise control, and RoadKing only had Cruise Control (on the open road I think the Roadking was just as or more comfortable of a ride (but the seat height was slightly too high for my likes).. One thing I noticed is the prominent shake of the RoadKing at Idle and low rpms I though I would like, but quickly got tired of, and it almost give a feeling of too much time/space between power pulses as if it was mildly missing..noticable/ Unknown or excessive engine noise does bother me.. and Neither bike had more raw, or more predictable power of the Stratoliner. I haven't given those big twins alot of thought since then.. I might have to consider the new trimmed up Goldwing again.. if I really want fairing, stereo and Cruise Control.. Just my take on my current ride, and yes it too is paid for..

Great content and style as always sir. My first dream bike I owned for two glorious years. Rode it everyday to work unless it rained. I was a '96 Kawasaki ZX-11 in Windsor green. It had a beautiful metal flake and I felt like a King when I rode it. Long story short, the military moved me and I sold it before the move. Now, some 25 years later my new dream bike is a 2018 Kawasaki H2 SX SE. It gives me that feeling I once had about that ZX-11. I decided to buy my 109 after riding a 250 cc for 2 years (yes 250 cc), I was nervous as I was a relatively new rider and it is a huge powerful bike, I’ve always loved the 109 design, Surprisingly it didn’t take long to get use to riding it, yes it too is my dream bike. I remember telling the dealer that there will be no more upgrades for me, they looked at me chuckled and said there aren’t any more upgrades from this. I must admit, I do love the latest triumph rocket, awesome looking bike. I too would never part from my m109 as there aren’t too many out there and not too many that have the beautiful low muscular design.

I love ur M109, it's very pretty, I agree as well to not sell her...
I had bought a messed up 1984 Yamaha Virago XV750 and I knew nothing about fixing bikes but by the will of the Most High, persistence, believing in myself, ignoring people's negative advices and constant UA-cam researches I've finish the project, I'm happy and by the 4 years of struggles it took me to get it running again, I've grown attached to her and I will not sell her because of the history we had together, and I get this feeling she appreciates me of my efforts in getting her road worthy again, than the previous owner that treated her very poorly. She always used to try to kill the previous owner by causing accidental events, but when I have her, respect her and attend to fix her with my own hands, I felt like she trust me and likes me, so that respecting the bike speech is a real deal. By reading this story, you'll swear I'm talking about a person, lol.

Pricey... I know, but worth it. It changed my riding experience and wind is no longer an issue on my naked bike. Yamaha MT-10 - no windscreen.

I was looking to upgrade from my '03 Shadow 750 (which is now my custom project bike) to either the M109 or the '14 Valkyrie. I LOVE the 109 looks. If you play Mass Effect it looks like the robot aliens to me WHICH IS PERFECT. My Valkyrie looks like a old Streamliner locomotive WHICH IS PERFECT and describes how it rides. I'm also trying to find some way to put removable bags on it. Something I can snap on for a tour but take off for everything else because I love the empty stock look. If I wanted a full touring Goldwing I would have bought one. My "dream" bike is a '19 or newer (fuel injected) Ural GearUp, the small 750 bike with the power sidecar. I want something I can do stupid fun things with off road or in the snow/rain in DC or still take a motorcycle to get groceries or pick up friends. Something chill for around town or country back roads when I don't feel like hauling ass at 100 down the highway (which is important and necessary sometimes). I call it the lawn flamingo motorcycle and I want it SO BAD. ...but not for like $20k new, no thank you.

I don't know about Suzuki anymore.
I had an 06 C50 and at a little over 34,000 miles the engine took a big dump on me. I maintained it religously too.
The local shop quoted me at 4500.00 to rebuild it.
Well I don't make alot of money and I work for a homeless shelter so now I am on the bus 1 1/2 hours each way to work, when I can catch a bus. The busses have a 10 rider limit due to Covid 19 so I sometimes can't get one. It's really depressing.
I should have read the service manual before as it says the useful life expectancy is 30,000 miles.
It is hurting financially and my stress level is so high and I am exhausted.
I had to give up the motorcycle to the shop due to this.
Count your blessings you have all those bikes....
