- I had so much fun the first time at Spider Lake we had to go back ASAP! Thankfully Chad was just as anxious as I was to redeem our wet excursion that went down last time. We had an epic 2nd ride, conditions were about as good as they could be. I would rather bomb a few puddles than have dust the whole time. The heat definitely wore us out and it was a good thing we stopped when we did. PLUS, We finally unloaded the Renegade!

Nathan Law me either. I can see a lot of the other manufacturers getting out of the game but they could easily take on yamaha and I know a new fuel injected 450r would sell like hot cakes!

you know for some reason I really love that 2004 through 2008 450r body style. I think the reason why I love it so much is I was so heartbroken the collapse of sport quads in the 250r got discontinued. In the first time I saw a fourtrax 450R in 2004 I could not believe that they actually built a sport quad again I totally fell in love with it. That’s why I love my 07 400 EX because it had the same bodywork. On my I next 400 EX I’m going to build it retro paint the frame red paint the a arms and rims and swingarm gold and do white and blue graphics retro 400 EX
I love the 450r's, they look super cool! Honda would really bring some excitement back to the industry if they released a new 450! Your build plans for your next 400ex sound awesome, all the paint work and graphics will make it really stand out! it would be great if you could send me a photo through social media when its finished! I was using a Nikon D3200 but now i'm using a Sony A6000. I really like the A6000 and you can get the camera for about $400-600 depending on where you shop

Jack Benway I have 2 hero 7’s that I bring, the drone is a DJI spark and in this video I used a Nikon D3200 that I was borrowing. I recently picked up a Sony A6000 for tripod shots and used it for the first time today at silver lake! I’m excited to see how the footage turns out

Thomaz VC I have an extended warranty so nothing on an engine level. I want to send my shocks to Jogaca suspension to get them rebuilt soon!

I had my dealer install my PC5 and my exhaust. As long as they do the work they said I would be fine. I don't have an FCI intake yet. I may look into getting one this year. That would be the last power performance mod until my extended warranty runs out most likely.

hey i recently got a 2005 raptor 350 and i have riding boots for a dirt bike and i see you and your buddies using riding boots can you make a video on how to ride with boots like that?
Are you having trouble making the boots work with your raptor?? If they're still really new they could need to be broken in. If they're broken in then I would try adjusting your shift lever. My boots felt super weird the first few rides and then I got used to them 👍

I'm pretty sure you can get the Hero 7 for $350 now. If I only had one camera that would be the one. You're definitely going to want extra batteries if you get one. I buy cheap ones off amazon

That thing technically is faster, It has a fully built engine that makes around 60 horsepower! It's crazy fun to ride

Hey, what size quad would you recommend for a beginner rider?
If your a complete beginner I'd say a 400 is perfect. You can always upgrade. The Suzuki Z400 was always one of the best 400's you can buy. The honda 400ex is known for its reliability and they're a lot of fun to ride. Those machines are still plenty fast and will go about 65 mph stock. Once you feel like you outride the machine then you could consider something like a 450 or a bigger bore machine like the Raptor. I started riding on a Polaris Magnum 325 when I was a kid, and then worked my way up to a Scrambler 500, and then the KTM 525XC and now I'm on the Raptor

Is this the same Honda you raced at the dunes at a later video after you did the top end work on your Raptor? If it is, that's crazy cause you beat him pretty good and he's making slightly more hp than you. You must be making a good amount more on torque to beat him so easy.

Hey man! Thanks for watching my videos 😊 this is the same 450r. I was pretty shocked that I was able to out run him at the dunes. I’m very happy with Jays motor work. I’ve never seen chads dyno sheets but I would assume the torque of the raptor beats it out because our HP is pretty similar! Janssen makes great motors too. Chad had a ton of hours on his red 05 before doing a refresh last winter
@@PeteHager I can't wait to see how the Raptor performs once you dig more into the motor in the future. I think you're the only Raptor channel that has as shown how a Raptor performs from stock to big 3 to big 3 plus top end work. Question, what oil have you moved on to since the rebuild? I've also heard of Yamalube giving other riders issues. I was a big fan of Rotella when I had my quads. More specifically Rotella T Triple since it was like $15 for a gallon. Idk what happened but I saw it online and it was now $35! It must have gotten really popular or something cause that's a significant increase. Anyway, stay safe out there.
@@racequad9 it’s been fun to document the slow increase in modification to the raptor! I plan to do the same thing with suspension, start more budget friendly and work my way up to more top shelf. For oil both quads are running a synthetic blend made by Torco called T-4MXR. Jay’s been running it for a very long time and I’m changing the oil every couple rides. There’s many established oil companies. Rotella is definitely good!
Found out my head was crack and 2 broken valve springs when I raced him at the dunes, hopefully it will be done before this year's trip

Does anyone know the name of the trailer he is using ?
Its homemade. The bed is 8.5x14 it's made out of the leftover helicopter landing pad from our local hospital. 3500 lbs torsion suspension with tilt bed. You can fit 4 quads on it and it tows really well.

Wallace Utley I use both my brakes when braking. If I need to stop quickly I’ll put way more into the fronts. The rears can only do so much especially if you start sliding👍
