Nice!! Looking forward to what's gonna replace Golden Bear.. RIP....
Awesome coverage! Good hanging out today, lunch, coaster chat, park history, ride on Full Throttle! Gotta go again. 😄
Thanks! Yeah, that was fun hanging out! Gonna be an frequent occurrence for the next couple years. Ha.
Great capture, always looking forward to see what Magic Mountain does here🙌
Thanks! It's quite exciting for sure!
Jeez, you'd think they'd salvage the Xmas decorations for next year & use those boughs elsewhere. lol. I wonder how buildings were dealt with centuries ago, before modern equipment existed. Of course, the ancient Egyptians are the essence of doing major construction mostly by hand, piece by piece. Six Flags/Cedar is probably going to install another coaster in that area, which may give a short boost to attendance & then drop off. USH's new coaster, attractions like the Sphere in Vegas, the new Universal park in Orlando, etc, make various parks like MM really need to up their game.
Yeah, I thought that was weird about not taking down the Christmas decorations for use elsewhere. Depending on how big this attraction is, it could be an attendance booster for some time. It'll be interesting to see what the merger does for the park too. Obviously this was planned well before it. But yeah.
gonna be interesting to see what happens to this plot, no matter what it is
Maybe this reused plot of land will be used to complete Full Throttle. 😂
Right? Lol.
What’s interesting is that the theater balcony and stage were still there at around 9:30 but started demolishing that outside at like 10:03. So much difference those 30 minutes made
Oh yeah. Those excavator jaws do quick work. I was also following the demolition of the Warner Bros Ranch Studio. And entire concrete block soundstage walls came down in about the same amount of time.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork yeah it was very surprising to see before my shift, sad to to see it go but excited for the future
Even if it ends up being a kiddie ride, it will still be an improvement and not feel like wasted space. My expectations remain low anyway 😆😆😆
I am really surprised no one has said (or sung) this yet:
🎼 *_"They came in like a Wrecking Ball, To see the Golden Bear Theater fall. To see the facade turn to dust; To see the old become new, so in MM we trust. Let's try not to boaster, let's hope it will be a new Roller Coaster. They came in like a Wrecking Ball!"_* 🎼
Haha! Love it!
A little sad about the Showcase (Golden Bear) Theater demolition. Saw Burning Sensations, Wang Chung and Foghat there back in the 80s.
I remember seeing *Kool and the Gang and BJ Thomas* there too back in the 80s. MM has so many childhood memories and many of them (Log Jammer, Spin Out, Tidal Wave, and the Finicalar) are gone now.
It's like being a kid playing in the sandbox.
I took a look at Google Earth and saw where the extended construction fence is going to versus were it had been. Oh my... If this new ride stretches from Gold Rusher to Pistachio Park, that's a huge plot of land. I hope there is some interaction with Gold Rusher. That would be fun. All we can do is wait and see.
Oh yeah. And there's still a ton of open land on the other side of the hill. As well as around Wonder Woman which didn't take up that much space from the removed Tidal Wave. Lots of options!
Since the Golden Bear Theatre got demolished, Will They replace it with Another Stage at Six Flags or something else
It'll be a new coaster.
If their expanding fences in back of full throttle than that means something big is coming 2025
💯
How many trees do you think we’ll lose? Hopefully not too many
Unfortunately, I think a lot. 😭
If it rains like it did last year, which it looks like it is, it will take several weeks before that area is clear.
Oh yeah. Totally. I think the seating area will take some time.
awesome
what do you think they are going to put there
The park teased a giga a while back. I hope it's true!
I heard tc is dueling more now is that true?
I'm leaving the park right now and was watching it for a bit in the parking lot. Seeing if I can get footage of it dueling. No luck.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork Oh alright thanks anyways!
No more Golden Bear
i am surprised its still up
They've been stripping the insides first. And then we've been hit with some rain. With more to come.
I wonder what this area is going to turn into, zero word from Six Flags?
No word yet. I'm guessing there likely be an announcement around August. Which is when they typically announce. Now, they did tease about a giga a while back. So maybe? I also wouldn't be surprised if a leak of plans came out sooner.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork I'm surprised you haven't heard anything. There have to be people that know.
So far the only thing I've heard is that it's going to be "unique," which is pretty vague. Beyond that, no clue other than whatever is going in this plot needs to provide some kind of competition to Hollywood Drift.
The only thing we’ve heard about whatever it is that is coming here is that it’ll be “unique” and that it’s most likely meant to compete with USH’s upcoming F&F coaster.
I think it’s safe to say it’ll be a coaster, but what kind of coaster it is we’ll just have to wait and see.
@@OakViewFilms where did they say it's gonna be "unique"
