      This is most definitely true, They refurbish and repaint their rides every other year to allow for maximum performance and looks.

    I rode it once in Germany and was not a big fan. Sure, the multiple, chaotic manouvres are impressive, but I thought it was more fun to watch than to ride.
    The "stand-up seats" are quite interesting. You do actually sit on them but your legs are dangling free. Advice for guys: wear briefs, not boxers, then you´re fine.
    The biggest problem are the metal restraints. Due to the unsupported legs, you´re whipped around quite a bit. Because of the restraints its hard to just relax and surrender your body to the constantly changing forces.

      It very much does look like a "more fun to watch than to ride" kind of ride. Might try tracking one down though

    Rode Reithoffer’s the year it debuted at the FL State Fair and RCS at the FL Strawberry Festival about 3 years ago. Very painful for us guys but an overall fun ride that’s a one and done.

      The thing that makes reithoffer’s worse is that when I went on it it didn’t have the foot stirrups so all of the weight was on my crotch and not my legs.

    I'm kind of surprised that you didn't mention the version with footrests which makes it more comfortable to ride. There used to be at least two Tangos travelling in the UK,one with footrests called Equinox and one without just called Tango. I will certainly never forget the restraints though, with their dagger feature which required great care to avoid injury in a particularly sensitive area...

    I actually rode Reithoffer's model in Maryland in the mid to late 2000s, I didn't realize that was the first Tango period, that's a cool piece of history finding out I rode the original of this ride model. I will say I don't know if it was an off day for the ride or the model just has reliability issues but it was down for most of the day at that fair and I was lucky finding out it opened later in the day and got a ride in before leaving.

    Rode the Reithoffer Shows one for years, and if you can get over some of the discomfort for the seating arrangement - it's a top tier ride.

    I remember the Moser Version of Tango called the Night Fly. The carousel of three gondolas spun faster than the KMG Version and the gondolas flips faster and more intense than the KMG Version of Tango.

    • @Colaholiker

      Was it actually Moser or SBF Visa? Or is there yet another clone? I remember a ride called Nightfly traveling in my neck of the woods in 2007/2008 which was similar to a Tango, albeit with normal sit-down seats. I am pretty sure it was made by SBF.

    I do believe the RCS Tango did have the footrests at first. But it was very easy to actually bang your legs against them. They disappeared fast.

    Rode one of these a few years ago at a fair in LA (RCS providing the rides). I really liked Tango, it’s unique and fun to ride. Although I’m not of a fan of the “stand up” seating design. It’s no different than straddling a bike seat and if you don’t position your self right it could be especially painful for men (if you get what I mean). If the seating was a bit more comfy it would be easily one of my top 3 flat rides.

    I'm surprised I never knew about the accident in michigan. I live in the state, and here the news always drastically overblows ride "accidents" and breakdowns. Probably because of the chaos collapse in the early 2000s

    The flat ride that I'm obsessed with is the Prater Park Extacy. That ride looks amazing, but I've never seen one here. Then again, for some reason, in the state that I live in, thrill rides are pretty much non-existant in carnivals and fairs now. For some reason, in the early 90's, all the travelling carnivals and fairs here got rid of all their thrill rides and replaced them with kiddie rides. The only flat rides we ever get here now are kiddie stuff. We're LUCKY if we get a gentle Ferris wheel now in the local carnivals. I don't know if it's an issue with state regulations, or if people who go to carnivals here just don't like thrill rides anymore. The last time I saw a thrill ride, it was a Zipper and it was back in the late 80's, just before all the carnivals became nothing but toddler rides.

    Sadly Skywalker in Australia has not operated in 4-5 years now and as far as I am aware it has been retired due to an incident during set up / tear down. Not sure what the owners current plans are with the ride, but I hope that it does return as IMO it was one of the best rides in Australia.

    I've always wanted to ride one, but have only seen Reithoffer's a year or so after they got it. The fact that many of the restraints on it were ratchet strapped down (most likely not functioning properly), sketched me out, so I decided to pass on it.

      But sadly they messed up the animation in PlanCo. The central arm rises up much too high so that all the various movements don`t make sense. It´s a bit of a shame, as the animation is actually very good otherwise.

  • @Pobreshcom
    @Pobreshcom 25 днів тому

    Please do your research properly... You make a lot of mistakes which is sad because the quality of your video's (editing, voice over) is good.
    The Prototype tango was Sky Trip in Switserland (Maier). It had 30 seats in the manufacturing state, but debuted with 24 in 2001. It went to germany in 2003 and to america in 2015
    Reithoffer was the 2nd one built in 2002
    Number 3 was the one wich had the transport-accident which was in 2003, After the rebuilt it traveled in the netherlands in 2004 and 2005. Where it received a raised floor and almost the same backflash the other one (no.4) had. Only after that it was sold to the UK and then back to the us again.
    Number 4 (now RCS) traveled in the Netherlands in 2002/2003. And is still recognizable because the trailer has decorations and lights on it.
    Number 5. is French Star Wars
    Number 6. Equinox, Which is back in the UK since 2024.
    That Incident was just the ride being stuck in an unfortunate position which can happen during a power outage with every ride.
    The lowering was done manually, on purpose and very slowly to get the riders out. This is a evacuation method...
    That's why they could remove the floor boards before lowering it down. KMG knew this could happen and made room to evacuate like this.
    It never lowered by itself. That is impossible even without power. It would be extremely dangerous if it could.
    Number 7 is the skywalker in Australia.
    The gondolas do not free spin, they are always driven by a motor.

      In addition to that, I think only 3 of those are actually travelling right now. The RCS one, the French Star Wars one and the Equinox soon in UK. I haven't seen the other 4 ones in a while and they might be in storage?

    • @Pobreshcom
      @Pobreshcom 25 днів тому

      @@mikek8658 all traveling as far as i know. The 3 named tango really look almost the same so you have to know the details to keep them apart in videos and photos. Reithoffer has no backflash, the other two have a backflash but one has decorations and lights on the trailer and the other is just pink/purple.
      I've seen an advert for the sky trip a few months ago so it is possible it does not travel any more but i haven't checked on that.
