Tatsu is the only coaster that has made me contemplate my mortality. It all started during the climb to the top. The steel beams looked huge against the tiny trees that grew tinier by the second. Panic set in as I dangled vulnerably from the sky. Once we took off, my mind asked questions like, “What if it derails, and we go flying off the track?” Next thing I know, a hysterical woman is screaming expletives and phrases like, “WE’RE GOING TO DIE!” and “JESUS, WHY?” As the train pulled into the station, it was with profound humiliation that I learned the truth: I was the hysterical woman.

My friend FLIPPED OUT on this ride !! She was yelling " there is no seat belt thing, the bar gonna break, I'm going to die, what about my kids" all the while I'm laughing my ass off !! It was awesome!! I LOVE the pretzel loop!!!
yo so before i ever road Tatsu, I had a dream I fell off of it and flew into the trees after the first drop. It was soo weird, because even tho I had never ridden the ride, my dream was legit somehow seeing exactly how the ride operated. The dream took place at night, and so i avoided riding it at night out of some fear it was premonition for the longest time. When I eventually did ride it at night, it felt like dejavu (not the ride but damn do i miss that one!). Thankfully i didnt fall off of it, but i know somewhere in some other universe, I must have because g-damn that fall was so real. Pour one out and RIP to my other self
I hadn't been on that ride in like 20 years and got on when I visited the other day - LOL that will be the LAST time I ever get on that ride. The whiplash, combined with the tension headache I got from trying to lift my arm to keep my mask from flying off my face nearly did me in. 🤣
Very much so, one of the most forceful elements on a coaster that I've experienced! However, this is really the only intense moment on this ride; there aren't really any other intense moments in my opinion to make it an all around intense coaster!
i went a few days ago for the first time and i didn’t feel nothin in tatsu. 😂 it’s a really cool ride tho, the facing down really freaked me out. i though the seat was going to open. 😂

The top 3 for me are X2, Tatsu, and Goliath. X2 since it is crazy intense. Tatsu since I greyed out on the Pretzel Loop and that usually doesn't happen to me. Goliath since in the double helix makes me close to greying out. Also awsome list!
taking a shot every time I hear "sheer speed" .. ill keep you updated. thanks for the list man! I like your appreciation for the same aspects of these coasters!
I LOVE that you actually put arrows when talking about the direction your body is thrown on Twisted Colossus! You could have only said it in words but for me being a visual learner, it really helped me understand how the roller coaster’s elements affect its riders. Very informative!
Oh man, my one and only visit to Magic Mountain was the summer of 1990, the year Viper opened. My recollection was that this was the biggest and baddest coaster at the time and had huge waits. I can't believe that it's hated and basically a walk on 30+ years later. Viper and Colossus were the only two coasters I was able to ride that day and they both remain legendary experiences in the memory of my 10 year old self.
I agree that apocalypse is extremely good. Particularly it's double down after the overbank, that moment is really intense. The first drop is amazing too
I went on x2 yesterday. I'm 13 and my 26 year old brother forced me. had the time of my life and glad he made me go on it. If you go there sit on it first!!!!

I’ve always been too scared to go on any really intense roller coasters before. For me, the Steel Eel at SeaWorld was pushing it. Finally last weekend at 28 I went to Magic Mountain and was told X2 would be a good start to the day. I was lied to! But it was a hell of a fun ride!
I’m 42 years old been living in California all my life and yesterday was the first time going to magic mountain. Face my fears of roller coasters. And my first ride was x2 . Shit was insane. My boys are the ones that put me up to it. They told me ride x2 first then the rest are rides are going to be chill. I’m so glad I did. Can’t wait to go again and ride tatsu. It was closed when we went 😢
I personally found X2 alot more smoother than id imagined it to be.. its almost like the sensation u get on silver bullets initial drop mixed with Full throttle’s launch all mixed together but inverted. I love it and imo WCC had a much more significant effect on me bc i nearly greye’d out on the yellow helix with me expecting it to be a tame coaster 🤣
When I went on west coast racers I did not expect the intensity! I actually passed out (first ever time at six flags) but HANDS down my favorite ride ever. I love how it goes again. Some rides you kind of feel like “wow I waited so long in line for this?” But not with this. REGARDLESS of having it break down while I was waiting in line and riding it. I loved it and it was great! The fastest one I’ve been on is twisted colossus and it was insane! I did not like it I mean maybe cause I did not expect it considering my friend said it was a “chill ride” I seriously did not expect it and felt absolutely sick. I loved the feeling of adrenaline after. But something I need to note is that it doesn’t feel very safe and you definitely you feel like you’re gonna fly out of your seat but if that’s what you like then go for it! I just personally prefer the nice safe feeling seats from west coast racers.
I haven’t gotten on every ride yet as I have only gone to six flags twice. But so far twisted collosus was the most terrifying for me, those drops are insane
I hope you've gone again since this comment. Once you've ridden every ride, you'll learn Twisted is indeed the funnest time you'll have on a ride in prob all of California. Batman, X2, Riddler, Scream - all once smooth and amazing rides are now just rattle cans that freak you the hell out.
X2 - that ride that made me scream like a little b. i admit it, It scared the living shit out of me. Thanks for the Viper love. Highly underrated because its an old arrow. At least it didn't have the shitty old trains revolution had with both the shoulder restraints and lap bar. Viper only had the shoulder restraints, which if not careful out goes your keys and wallet.

When I was maybe 10, my dad had forced me onto X2, and I kinda just went with it. All I remember is closing my eyes the entire time. I also went on the Superman Krypton ride.
Yup! X2 has been gettingpretty rough over the years! They recently re-welded a lot of thr tracks and supports, and it's been running smooth this month, but it probably won't be long until it is super rough again.
X2 is how I imagine 1. Dying feels, 2. The last thing Noble 6 saw at the end of Halo: Reach and 3. What a Geometry Dash character goes through when completing Tidal Wave

I remember when Viper first opened. It was the first roller-coaster to match combat jet planes g forces. The twist in a barrel roll is the actual twist barrel roll in a f-15 or f-18 hornet.
The fact that you ranked Superman so low in intensity makes me feel like a wuss for being terrified for a decade. I will conquer my fear on Monday my dude 💪
Man I was sitting far right in the back of batman and I didnt even feel the need to scream. It was just kinda chill for me 😅. Full throttle though. Full throttle got an actual scream of terror out of me (I was once again in the back so I got the full effects of the backwards launch. Loved it though, it was great)
Tatsu was the first big roller coaster I came to love, and part of the reason I could overcome my fear is for some reason I find the superman position calming. I find the pretzel loop very relaxing, it pushes me back in my seat and feels like a nice weighted blanket on me :D Weirdly I find the corkscrews on it more intense than the pretzel loop. But all of it is such a blast!!!
Good job. I like how you deal with your haters. You got all the angles covered. I got to ride USA's first flying Rollercoaster at CA Great America in 2000! It was short lived but bad ass! I want to ride X2, rode Tatsu though.
I likened myself to a very hardcore enthusiast.... very few coasters with a level 10 intensity rating rattle me... having said that.... X-2 to this very day still gives me the shakes. i don't know what it is... that first drop? the first inversion? I've gone on it maybe a dozen times in my life, and it still scares the living crap out of me.
Tatsu is on a level!! X2’s like space mountain in comparison. Tatsu is like being gripped and spun around by an unpredictable mythical creature. While X2 has the name and branding of a bow flex type deal. X2 is by far one of the most fun rides around. Not sure if I would ever give Tatsu another go. Love the video. Thank you
I went on the twisted colossus before and it was really like scary because it was night time so I couldn’t see anything and I was sitting next to my sister but then I found out it went around two times so I was literally so mad because my dad made me ride the roller coaster so I was really mad at him P.S. i was like eight when I rode this but it was fun
now i haven’t ridden either coaster in about 3+ years and definitely haven’t ridden the gci retrack but you are 100% correct in the fact that the overall pacing of apocalypse is great/much better than ghostrider and provides a more intense experience out of the gate, plus it suits the theming by focusing on speed and laterals. however as an orange county native, throughout my entire life riding ghost rider from my first ride in kindergarten to my most recent night ride during knotts scary farm, it murders apocalypse in the intensity in regards to airtime and headchoppers. i think they both offer different rides and when people think of top coasters people tend to think of flashy air time moments or drops rather than a whole experience start to finish. while i would agree apocalypse is overall a more intense ride ghost rider is a significantly more impactful and memorable ride. P.S. if you haven’t gotten the chance to ride ghostrider at night do it it’s absolutely insane
Thanks for the input! I have similarly been riding both of these coasters ever since I was about 5 to 6 years old. I have ridden both in the front and back, day and night, rain and shine, and for me, I have always seen Ghostrider as a more relaxed ride, with the larger, more drawn out elements. And of course my video explains my thoughts on Apocalypse. Both are great coasters and I don't dislike Ghostrider in any way, I just feel that Apocalypse gets overlooked upon because of Ghostrider, even though it is a very solid coaster. Either way, I'll be riding El Toro in a few weeks for the first time, so I'll likely have a new top wooden coaster soon!
I greyed out on Tatsu’s pretzel loop. That element is intense. I don’t really like flying coasters but it’s the best one I’ve been on. I didn’t enjoy X2 at all though, too jerky. The first drop on Goliath into the tunnel made one of the discs in my back compress, I literally felt it ‘squish’! It’s the only ride I’ve ever felt nervous on as the whole structure just didn’t seem... sturdy enough. But hey, these designers know what they’re doing.
@@salvadorlemus8279 yes it does, imo stay leaned back so your head doesn't rock back, I made the mistake of leaning forward and talking to somebody at the start and that hurt. But yes near the end of the night there was no line so I rode it three times in a row and then the third time I kind of regretted it cuz I was pretty dizzy
If Green Lantern was still in the park, I would rank it as the most intense coaster at the park. That ride was so rough that I didn’t bother to ride it again. It was literally a one and done.
I am actually the one in a million who passionately loved that ride! It was so forceful and unpredictable, providing an insanely intense experience every single time! I marathoned that ride several times when it was in operation, and I would also prefer it over the S&S Free Spins!
I spent an entire day at six flags just as covid went down. We had short waits in line and we hit it off with Batman and we were rattled. We rallied and hit all the big ones. Then we did that big swing which I had the hardest time with. The anticipation of getting released down killed me! It was such a beautiful day and I had the best time.
Yeah I'm 41 and revolution is a old coaster been there done that .. so I wouldn't put ot one the list since you can't compare it but love the rest of the video
I find it interesting how many MM’s coasters are underrated. In my eyes, Apocalypse, Goliath, Riddler, Superman, Viper, and Scream don’t get enough respect for what they do right.
@@M-NL2 also I’m at sfmm when I’m sending this comment, and Batman the ride is closed for a big reason, the gray color scene is returning. 6 apocalypse
7 tatsu
8 viper
9 scream
10 riddlers revenge
11 goliath
12 batman
13 X2
Tatsu was the first big roller coaster I came to love, and part of the reason I could overcome my fear is for some reason I find the superman position calming. I find the pretzel loop very relaxing, it pushes me back in my seat and feels like a nice weighted blanket on me :D
Weirdly I find the corkscrews on it more intense than the pretzel loop. But all of it is such a blast!!!
Heading to SFMM next week! Can’t wait to experience it all!
Good job. I like how you deal with your haters. You got all the angles covered.
I got to ride USA's first flying Rollercoaster at CA Great America in 2000! It was short lived but bad ass! I want to ride X2, rode Tatsu though.
scream: the hotwheels roller coaster
The amount of roller coasters this guy has been on is crazy
Scream is amazing and comfy it's relaxing
I completely agree! my first looping roller coaster was new revolution
Your so good i dont think that you have a single dislike
I likened myself to a very hardcore enthusiast.... very few coasters with a level 10 intensity rating rattle me... having said that.... X-2 to this very day still gives me the shakes. i don't know what it is... that first drop? the first inversion? I've gone on it maybe a dozen times in my life, and it still scares the living crap out of me.
Me too. X2 and TC are the only 2 rides, that no matter how hard I resist, I end up clutching the restraints with dear life..
Thank you
great vid, very informational for my upcoming trip. well earned sub
8:17 X2 had to remind u 😂😂
X2 first drop vs Tatsu's pretzel loop. Both are legendary!
Yessir!
Riddlers first drop was intense asf lol
I love all these rides. One of my favs, and it's not a coaster, is Crazanity. Freaky as hell! Love Magic Mountain
Was looking for this comment. Crazanity is waaaay more intense than most of these rides!
Magic mountain is my favorite place and fav ride is tatsu full throttle and twisted colossus
All 3 insane coasters that I mutually love!
Those are my top three as well, twisted one full throttle two tatsu three
I haven't been on a roller coaster since the launch of Viper. Viper made me realize that I wasn't built for that s.h.i.t.
I went on the twisted colossus before and it was really like scary because it was night time so I couldn’t see anything and I was sitting next to my sister but then I found out it went around two times so I was literally so mad because my dad made me ride the roller coaster so I was really mad at him
P.S. i was like eight when I rode this but it was fun
now i haven’t ridden either coaster in about 3+ years and definitely haven’t ridden the gci retrack but you are 100% correct in the fact that the overall pacing of apocalypse is great/much better than ghostrider and provides a more intense experience out of the gate, plus it suits the theming by focusing on speed and laterals. however as an orange county native, throughout my entire life riding ghost rider from my first ride in kindergarten to my most recent night ride during knotts scary farm, it murders apocalypse in the intensity in regards to airtime and headchoppers. i think they both offer different rides and when people think of top coasters people tend to think of flashy air time moments or drops rather than a whole experience start to finish. while i would agree apocalypse is overall a more intense ride ghost rider is a significantly more impactful and memorable ride.
P.S. if you haven’t gotten the chance to ride ghostrider at night do it it’s absolutely insane
also great video been really enjoying these
Thanks for the input!
TFW A WORKER TOLD MY DAD THAT GOLIATH WAS A GOOD STARTER COASTER FOR ME 💀 I WAS LIKE 7 AT THE TIME
it is a good 'starter coaster' lol. It does almost nothing aside from make you grey out a lot
Scream is awesome, always a must when we go to Magic Mountain.
If you guys want to go to six flags and you arent comfortable yet i would recommend gold rush its super fun and its great for beginners!
I cried om Tatsu. Got out of line on x2 lol
I'm weak 🤣 that's awesome. They are super fun!
Lmaooo
I almost threw up on Tastu (maybe the g force on the pretzel loop) so I didn’t get to go on X2. Does anyone know if x2 gets u dizzy
@@salvadorlemus8279 but it's super fun!
This video is AMAZING! I love your channelllllll!!!!!!
Thank you so much!!! :DDDD
Ok hear me out, on the finally on golf rush (the helix) it's pulls some pretty sick Gs!
@@M-NL2 woah
Where would you now place Wonder Woman on this list?
I spent an entire day at six flags just as covid went down. We had short waits in line and we hit it off with Batman and we were rattled. We rallied and hit all the big ones. Then we did that big swing which I had the hardest time with. The anticipation of getting released down killed me! It was such a beautiful day and I had the best time.
Just discovered this channel and I have to say - I love it!
Thank you so much!
I rode Batman today thinking it was a chill ride…. That thing was crazy!! lol
If anyone has been on the inverted coaster Silver Bullet at Knott's. How does that compare to Batman?
Nice presentations!!
:D
Yeah I'm 41 and revolution is a old coaster been there done that .. so I wouldn't put ot one the list since you can't compare it but love the rest of the video
Six flags would close early when im there so i always go early so i can ride all the rides and after that i feel like puking
DO NOT come for Ghostrider like that she is at the top of her game !! 😤😂
Excellent job on your comments. They are the best compared to other channels.
The new revolution is always our warm up
Just FYI, Colossus, now Twisted Colossus was built on a portion of the parking lot too!
I find it interesting how many MM’s coasters are underrated. In my eyes, Apocalypse, Goliath, Riddler, Superman, Viper, and Scream don’t get enough respect for what they do right.
Thanks for adding my old comment in the vid :)
I gotchu :)
@@M-NL2 you gotcha self a new sub
@@M-NL2 also I’m at sfmm when I’m sending this comment, and Batman the ride is closed for a big reason, the gray color scene is returning. There’s a big machine spraying loads of gray paint all over the blue track
Edit: wait. I’m not the first to realize that? :/ oof I just realized that you mentioned it.
@@Joeyfordayz2301 thank you! 😄
@@Joeyfordayz2301 Yup! Batman: The Ride is receiving a new paint job (saw some of the updates on Instagram. They are currently powerwashing all of the blue paint away to make way for the new paint.
I really like riddles and full throttle. The fast rides are awesome.
My friend and I rode Batman last year after riding 8 other coasters...and after we both said "ok...we need to have lunch and take a break." I grey out everytime.
x2 just made me get a minor concussion lmaoo
