I was on the street team for this game through StreetWise, and Kiss was touring then, and I got sent to a Kiss show to pass out flyers. So because of this game, I got to see Kiss live.
I have a vague memory of some of the marketing saying the game was made to push modern computers to the brink.. I was around 12 at the time, do you remember if that was real or is it something I've made up over the years..

KISS are just merch monkeys and they’ve created a lot of ridiculous stuff. Candles,pinball,monopoly and now a FPS game. Even though they’re music is fine,but their merchandise stinks.

I actually enjoyed this one for what it was back in the day. Was better playable on PC, and it made my dad introduce me to KISS!
This was actually a really nice and fun change from Worst Games Ever. I didn't even know this existed until this episode!
I wish GOG or Steam would re-release the PC version of this compatible with modern computers. I've tried like hell to get it to work on Windows 11, and it just wont no matter what I try.
You might have better luck in a virtual machine with an older version of Windows installed or Linux using lutris.
See the PCGamingWiki article, there's a Windows 10 patch which should work for Windows 11 too, I got it to run with even more custom patches (dxwrapper)...

Blast from the past. I remember my cousin giving me this game as a gift when she was with Gathering of Developers. Good memories
I remember playing this as a kid when it came out on PC. It was decent for the limited game selection I had at the time, then I learned who KISS were as I got older and felt bad that Gene Simmon's got a portion of my money.
Bla bla, many Dreamcast games were also released on pc, but the true magic is playing the Dreamcast

I Love that everytime one of you makes a joke, I'm almost simultaneously making said joke in my head. It makes me feel like I'm gaming with other people... the scariest concept of all. As we all know, other people don't exist, they're just something made up to scare us as children ("us" in the singular first person sense, obviously)

One of the first games I played on PC along with Planescape: Torment, The Sims and Thief: Dark Project, the KISS game was good though.

I expected you guys to use emulation trickery to map the right analog stick, but I'm ultimately glad you kept the control awkwardness that makes up like half of this game's original experience
Fun fact; Dreamcast ( and Saturn) controllers can't suffer analog stick drift because they use hall sensors, which are only just becoming popular again having had 20 years of the industry copying the inferior Sony design from 97 even though Sega solved the problem 18 months earlier.
While that is indeed a fun fact, a less fun one is that the industry didn’t copy Sega because the industry didn’t want to copy anything from what was an imploding company at the time especially when it was due to their own incompetence. Much love to Sega, especially these days, but they were very dumb in the mid-late 90s

Sega's schism between their America and Japan divisions post mega drive was so moronic.
Ah yes, a relic of the "let's try and reinvent ourselves as Slipknot" stage of KISS's career... Still better than when they went disco I suppose.
KISS not being in this KISS game is one of the best parts. I do not care for KISS, but this was a pretty good FPS. It did accomplish teaching me the names of all of the members of KISS though.

My best friend had this game on his PC desk shelf for years. Not sure he ever played it but wouldn't be surprised if he did and was just too embarrassed to admit it.

I was excited to watch this video, then i realized it was the Dreamcast version LOL. Still entertaining :)
You know, the game on the Dreamcast would've been significantly better if they had the PC UI and the controls weren't flipped the wrong way :D And if the brightness wasn't so low.
I remember TRYING to play this game, computers were not there yet🤣. Cool that I can watch a video about it twenty sum years later.
Hehe, Kiss Psycho Circus needed a powerful computer, I remember well at the time. Unlike Half-Life 1, KPC didn't have a pixelated software render mode. The requirements for KPC were 64mb ram, 12mb gpu (vram), a 300mhz processor, and a full hard drive installation of 600mb. That was pretty expensive, and I myself had a late 1995 HP Vectra, which I got for Christmas '96 for $4,000 dollars. By the year 2000, such a setup was in the $1,000~$1,500 price range. It's a reason why a lot of PC games like KPC didn't sell well, but Half-Life 1 and the Quake games did.
This game plus McFarlane's Spawn comics and cartoon were the pre-DBZ staples of my childhood.
7:45 mark we have a great callback to the inspector gadget episode that is very easy to miss and very much appreciated. Always use ur analogistics
I thoroughly enjoyed this game I came out on the PC. I only wish I could still play it.
The PC version of KPC was actually a really good game (hidden gem), it looks and plays like Half-Life 1. This game never belonged on Dreamcast, the specs simply couldn't handle KPC. With the Dreamcast version, KPC looks more like if Half-Life 1 was downgraded to Quake 2. Instead KPC should've been a launch PS2 game, which would have the dual-analog controller & very much capable of the PC version's graphics, dialog, missing Dreamcast content, etc. If that happened, I think KPC would've gotten more respect & better reviews. In that case, it would've been a unique launch title.
I loved this game on my Dreamcast.
I was playing it like crazy. And the HD technik looks so awsome back 1998.
The PS1 and N64 looked so weak to the Dreamcast.
Even the ps2 who came after the Dreamcast doesent look half good as Dreamcast Games.

I remember playing this when i was a teenager on DC, remember it being better than this. Guess it seemed better than it was cause all console fps' were a bit janky back then?
Besides console fps, I think it's also because you played it on a CRT television set. This Kiss game always looks better on a CRT whenever I play it.
You'd think the combination of Daikatana and Soul Reaver would be a bit more...interesting, at the very least.
Okay, I genuinely would like to know, if anyone can tell me: are the words that Peter, Ashton, and "You're a Wizard Ben" Potter said after they left The Coventry actual towns/hamlets/villages/cities? I seem to remember hearing "Stoke-on-Trent" but the other ones sound like Olde English gibberish.

Psycho Circus has 2 of my favourite Kiss songs on it, Dreamin' and Raise your Glasses, despite it's not so good reputation.
I may have been blinded because I loved Kiss, but I really enjoyed this game
Allegedly, the band put their actual blood into the ink for the comic. I say allegedly, because they said they did it, but I'm not sure they actually did.
Actually that isn't for the McFarlane comic series, but for the 70s Marvel Kiss comics

This is by no means a great game but it's playable and enjoyable.
It had a pretty huge demo version that contained like 8 playable levels (2 of each episode)
No gamebreaking bugs, no hyper annoying enemies except spawners maybe, weapons were solid.
Idk what was so bad about this game that it went completely unnoticed and forgotten.
It's certainly better than Daikatana which released very close to it.

I love the band, but I passed on the game. I was considering getting it when it was on sale, but I think I ended up just forgetting that it even existed. After watching this: I'm glad I forgot. Heh.

The Kiss Psycho Circus game was odd in the sense that it appealed mostly to hardcore PC gamers. Most casual Kiss fans wouldn't have understood it. The PC version is actually really good, which looks and plays like Half-Life 1 or Quake 3 if it had a campaign. The Dreamcast version simply shouldn't have existed, and instead it should've been a launch PS2 game that looked/played like the PC game.
KPC on Dreamcast is identical to how Shadowman on PS1 was a confusing, underspec mishap.
Inverting the inverted Y axis? Why do people not want it inverted? If I’m using a controller it has to be inverted otherwise just can’t play shooters and the like.
Developers think people want the X & Y movement on a these type of games like they are play a flight simulator. Most people don't Just impossible to play that way.

This game is like a time capsule to that very specific era of fps games. "Turok2 seeds of Evil" is a good example of the era I'm talking about. Of course Turok 2 is 1000000x better but you know what I mean. Beware Oblivion is At Hand.

Strange this game is based on an album,then Todd McFarlane made a comic book series and later on made an FPS game on the comic book itself.
The disappointment is that KISS isn’t even in this game,just some generic guy who’s an avatar for the band.

I had this on the Dreamcast. I loved it. It falls into the 'good because it's crap ' list.
So it turns out when the children don’t spend the episode of WGE arguing, the conversations tend to go to very strange places
