Lovely video, very well done. I must say, the nostalgia really came flooding back when you brought up Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future. I remember playing it at a friend's house (I think they had the PS2 version) and just being in awe at the graphics, atmosphere and opening sequence...after playing many intense matches on Def Jam: Vendetta, it was very therapeutic lol Another weird game that comes to mind is ILLBLEED
Haha from Def Jam to Ecco is definitely an intense transition! 😂 But I was actually looking to check out ILLBLEED, I’ll be sure to do so now 😁 Thank you for watching!
Love the video my dude! Makes me regret selling my Dreamcast a year or so ago 😅 I was really big on fighting games on the Dreamcast, but I did play a few of the weirder games on there as well. I've been a fan of Sega since the Genesis, so they have a special place in my heart.
So the reason why the Dreamcast version of Space Channel 5 seems harder and less responsive is because it's designed for CRT tvs. Their refresh rates are much slower so the game is programmed with a delay to make up for it. If you use a modern TV the lag will make you miss inputs. Parappa and other rhythm games of the time also have this issue.
Vincenzo iam following you from ITALY. I love your video! have a good vibes and moods! nostalgia is a strange feel... elektro-nostalgia... or teknostalgia...
Barring the 1st game's decidedly mid remake, the Panzer Dragoon series is by far my favorite Sega series (and only behind Kirby overall). The setting and aesthetic is still truly unique even after almost three decades. Also riding laser dragons is just super fun.
It says something about the quality of a franchise that you describe the inevitable "bad" game in the series as "mid" rather than God's greatest mistake.
echo the dolphins music is truely iconic of the y2k era you heard that genre everywhere .. commercials tv series and games i remember playing it just the music.. as for segas best game to me its still yakuza 1 and 2 at least its the first ones that come to mind.

Being reminded of Ecco the Dolphin lore is always a trip. In a good way. Great video going through some of the dreamcast's strangeness. A lot of folks already said, but yeah this is my favorite era of gaming in general too. Just something about it feels like the peak of what the medium was meant to be imo. Not perfect but the focus on fun and vibes was at its best. And Sega were masters of it. I'm a big fan of Space Channel 5 and Jet Set Radio, I'm glad those series are seeing use again among many others by Sega.
I gotta agree! Sometimes I would wonder if it’s just nostalgia or if the games of the early 2000’s were actually doing something special in comparison to todays games. I’m starting to believe they were just doing things much better before, these games had a lot of soul to them and you could feel the love put behind them. You can still find that now but it doesn’t hit like those older games! Glad you enjoyed the video though, thanks a bunch for watching 😁

Very true! I was only published by SEGA in Japan, so I was definitely grasping for straws including it. But it was just so interesting I couldn’t resist 😅Thank you very much tho! It means the world that you enjoyed 😁❤️
So who owns Blue Stinger? All the info I can find on the internet says that Sega is the first publisher of the game, therefore its 99% of chance they own the IP.
@@avideogamemaster climax graphics. It is a now defunct game studio but it was a Third Party that made 2 games for the dreamcast: Blue Stinger and Illbleed
THIS is why I became a fanatical Sega fanboy back in 2001 after buying my Saturn in August 2000, 32X August 2001, Mega CD November 2001, Dreamcast in January 2002, Game Gear August 2003, and finally my Master System December 2007. I got a MegaDrive for Christmas 1990, but grew up an NES/Super Famicom guy. Though I always almost played Sega's arcade games exclusively back in the 90's. Virtua Fighter 2 is the greatest fighting game ever made. Oh and, Yu Suzuki is better than Shigeru Miyamoto. Fight me.
Jet Grind Radio / Jet Set Radio is still one of the best games on the Dreamcast, and really the only flaw I've ever seen with it is the controls being a bit janky and hard because of the lack of a second analog stick to control the camera. Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future is also a really solid title, if a super underrated one I rarely hear brought up, that offers lots of great content and a shockingly serious tone and story. Saddest part is that there was actually a sequel for Ecco in the works, titled 'Ecco II: Sentinel's of the Universe' which did have a "playable" demo leak online a few years back. It was canned the same time the Dreamcast was canned, and clearly didn't get far because majority of the assets in the demo are re-used from Defender's of the Future, though it's still a massive let down.
I had no idea they had another sequel on the way 😳 If only it could have pulled through! I would love to see it done on modern hardware, the game already looked incredible as it is!
Seaman prediction on the npc zombie humans falling trap was right but spiritual beings use internet to get powerful messages out and their talents and we can see difference between soul beings and zombies from internet and local areas
It’s definitely a fine line when it comes to healthy Internet use! I’ve found myself having to take a break from all the social media, it got to be too much 😅
@@Vynsent I take break when I need new ideas to come through and the more I make music more I reach new soul beings who been in search for me and it’s sad to see many who have internet access and don’t have any talents to share out there to reach new souls that awaits a vibrant connection
Bro, set your microphone's audio track to mono when you're editing your video. It's slightly louder in the left than the right and could benefit from some compression. "S", "P", and "B" sounds are really overpowering as well. Get a pop filter and adjust how close you are to the microphone and it's gain afterwards.
@@Vynsent no problem. After listening to a few other videos, the balance issues I was hearing might be on my side. These bluetooth earphones do weird things when they disconnect and reconnect.

The semi-zombie state Sega has been in since the mid 2000s is so unfortunate. I kind of wish microsoft would have purchased Sega way back then. Sega needs money, and microsoft needed IP.
They have new Jet Set, Crazy Taxi, Streets of Rage, Shinobi & Golden Axe games in development at the moment though - we could be seeing another golden age for them 🤞🏻

I do the same! 😂
Stretching these games into a widescreen format does them a disservice.
I agree, it doesn’t look as good!
Blue Stinger isn't a Sega IP even though it is a Dreamcast exclusive - it can be misleading. Great video however.
Very true! I was only published by SEGA in Japan, so I was definitely grasping for straws including it. But it was just so interesting I couldn’t resist 😅Thank you very much tho! It means the world that you enjoyed 😁❤️
@@Vynsent sure did and your editing + narration is awesome!
Sega was so good, I born into this world immediately.
SEGA was really killing it in the early 2000’s!
Sea-Man for Smash!
That would be amazing 😂
He'd probably just flop around and demand to be put back into water and then say something bitterly sarcastic just before he dies.
Anybody know name of the track at 18:04?
The song is called "Tongue Tied- T-Shirts" 😁
@@Vynsent thank you 💪
I love it
Very glad you enjoyed! :)
Fight me.
Very well versed in your SEGA! I respect that 😎🤝 Nothing like those old school fighting games in an arcade tho! Loved those days
Will do! Been working on getting a better audio out of my mic, as it’s very finicky at times. Thank you for the tip!
@@Vynsent no problem. After listening to a few other videos, the balance issues I was hearing might be on my side. These bluetooth earphones do weird things when they disconnect and reconnect.
I swear our phones are listening to us...I was talking about Ecco the dolphin at a game shop and the store manager told me I should buy the original game remade for gameboy advance he said it's wacky af and told me about the final boss...I see this having been a huge fan of the dream cast and what do I learn but this game has an incredible even weirder sequel...Sega was on 1 lol that game looks incredible when I do finally get a dream cast that's the first game I'm buying ty for the put on (LOVE Blue Stinger btw top 10 survival horror for me)
Haha they hear everything my friend! Glad it could bring you to the channel though 😁 thanks for watching!
@@Vynsent yea amazing video instant sub your well versed and knowledgeable
The semi-zombie state Sega has been in since the mid 2000s is so unfortunate. I kind of wish microsoft would have purchased Sega way back then. Sega needs money, and microsoft needed IP.
They have new Jet Set, Crazy Taxi, Streets of Rage, Shinobi & Golden Axe games in development at the moment though - we could be seeing another golden age for them 🤞🏻

Lmao! You ain’t lying 😂
Am still at the start but i hope you talk about ristar it was an amazing game for the megadrive/genesis i would recommend it to any sega or 16 bit lover
Wish I would have 😅 Hopefully you enjoyed what we had on the list!
I did enjoy the games you picked i wish sega would re-release seaman with some updates it would be a lot of fun like a VR mode or the ability to trade your seaman online or cross breed with a friend with things like chatGPT and A.I i could see this as a lot of fun @@Vynsent
I remember trying to play ECCO on the PS2 but it scared me
The ocean is a scary place without a doubt 😅
The Genesis games were even more terrifying. Darker in tone.
my fav game of all time.... SEAMAN!!!
😂😂😂 You a fool snow 😂😂😂
Cannot believe you didn't mention Segagagaga
I just looked it up, and I definitely would have, had I known about it 😂 That looks very interesting!
@@Vynsent I heard about it once in a documentary and i've been kind of obsessed with it from afar, but it never left japan so it's kind of hard to find anything about it !
Awesome video. Unrelated, but you're very handsome.
Haha thank you! I try to keep myself together 😂
You did not mention MICHAEL JACKSON? He was in Space Channel 5! 🎉
I definitely should have talked about it, that was legendary 😁

Great content, with a great soundtrack as always! Dreamcast ahead of its time in so many ways particularly with its online vision PSO etc but then also so completely out muscled by the PS2 shortly after
It really was crazy how ahead of the curve Dreamcast was. If only they had more backing like Sony did! They really were leading the innovation at SEGA!
Shenmue video pls 👀
I think it’s time for me to indulge in a bit of shenmue 😏
