Your warm ups are my work out. You are an amazing athlete. I am lucky to find your videos. Will start slowly and get into shape… you are an inspiration.
I’m 63 and could never jump 7 metre but I could run 38 min 10km and what makes me happy like you is that I’ve maintained a fairly good sport performance for my age! I feel 40! I look 62 in the face unfortunately!
I’ve never been much of a runner but my 2023 goal is to get more active and fit. I signed up for a 5k marathon in July to challenge myself and this video is really helpful for me trying to figure out training. I’m not going for a win, just to complete it! Edit: I found another local marathon with a 5k option and signed up!
@@realjoakim1337 true it’s not a full real one. But 5k still a lot for a newbie like me! One day I will be be strong enough and have enough stamina for longer distances!
@@RivalGem53 I find racing the 5km is very challenging. Completing it is totally feasible. When I race a 5km it expends everything - way more than something like a half marathon. To keep even splits at slightly beyond lactate threshold for 17-18 minutes is rough for me.
When a world class athlete like you Chari puts out brillaint video's like this, everyone should really take on board what you are doing and saying!!. Your video's have really helped me!!.. keep up the unbelieveable video's Chari...👏💪
Training appropriate for professional athletes is not always appropriate for amateurs. Stretching before running, as Chari demonstrated in her warm-up, is a mistake for you and could result in injury. Chari is a pro she can do it. You do not. Her job is sports, you spend a lot of hours in the office. You run for health, she runs for sports results. She has a correct and strong muscle base that maintains her posture. You do not have. Correct order for non-professionals runners: - rolling - slow run - warm-up (without stretching elements) - main training (e.g. running or intervals) - rolling and stretching as the end of the training Regards Chari and thank you for all your videos.
The ritual and the routine seems to be a key. You can use this same approach in all areas of life. I appreciate how you start slow and even walk the track first, makes so much sense to prep the mind for the upcoming training. I am not running, but I apply Dior same approach to my own routine and the organization of the process has helped a lot.
Really helpful videos. I often neglect warm up due to time limitations with work/kids, although I'm going to set an intention to put part of this into my routine. Thanks for letting us into your elite world and training routines ❤
Walking is an underrated warmup. I started walking a full mile before any of my jogs/runs and I’ve reduced my number of injuries. I still don’t feel fully warmed up until I’ve run another mile or two, but I don’t have time to walk like 3 miles first lol
Boom! Awesome vid. Super helpful. I love the lap walk. I do that too. Kind of getting intimate with the track. I’m a soccer player though but I do laps for training. Thanks Chari!
I question doing much stretching before muscles have been warmed up. What works for be is a 10 minute sauna where I use massage oil to prepare them for an activity like running or cycling. Then I go out slow for 10-15 minutes, stop and stretch more deeply.
Good videos! 78 second laps are no jog, that is 5:13/mile pace. 3:15/km. But hey, maybe if you can run 400m in 52 seconds, 78 is 50% slower so you could call it a jog :D
For the leg swings I prefer to bend my knee when rising my leg in front of me and keep slow the movement behind me with the leg straight again. I do so to prevent the blood to be rushed into the calf and make it expand early in my session (especially during hot weather). Good warm up 👌
Hi Chari, could you tell the name of your device you are using at the beging of your video for losing your muscle? Thank you very much in adavnce for your suggestion. Enjoy your run and thanks for your helpful videos
Used to workout with an athlete. While I was doing a six something minute mile in my warmup, six laps to the mile, he lapped me while eating a king sized Snickers bar. Yes I was running a time I was proud of and he lapped me while eating. I was, oh so I'm really really not an athlete
@@LintonSamuelDawson thanks. I learned to focus on form and practical functionality. Nobody was paying me extra on my day job for injuring myself. I let the athletes run.
Friend, a question I can use A-Skip, B-Skip and C-Skip as warm-ups for long distance runs (more than 10km) I'm doing it and my feet and calves hurt a lot at first, but I'm already getting the hang of it. But I can?
I wish I could have access to internet and such great content during my school days. It was always a dream to win 100 M and 200 M running race in my school. I always thought speed was a natural thing. I did hear about some techniques but didn't knew if it would work. Practise Consistently + Watching good techniques like you mention in your videos = 🥇

Tried B skips today, and she makes them look easy. I’ll have to just keep practicing.

Hi Chari,
I was wondering if you could do a quick, follow-along warm up route for beginners?
Thank you for your content and have a wonderful day.
You can follow this video along. Just pause in between exercises…
I would like her to elaborate more on the static stretching during warm up before running !
A yoga video will do as well
Thanks for this video. I learned much.

One time I did one lap in 78 seconds, teehee. LOL, that’s like a classically trained pianist saying they can only play the piano a little
Where can you find tracks that are open . City and schools lock em all up for public use even though we pay for them
Schools during certain times often open their tracks up
For sprint drills we need to do it for how much seconds?
can someone tell me what the anklings and shot put warm up do?
When you walk, do you keep the same form as when you run?
How to remove ankle pain
I slap my muscles to warm up

Can we do some push ups and squats in warm up??
