I dont get emotional watching it. For sure its a great car from a technical perspective. But watching it drive is like driving a train. No emotions, no sound. Just acceleration and a screen that tells you the next stop.
i think its fair to not call this a lotus, but i understand why they sell these. its the same reason porsche sells the macan/cayenne and lambo the urus. it keeps the lights on and allows them to keep selling their flagship sports cars we all love. we just gotta hope that lotus does the same so we can keep getting more emiras and whatnot

I gotta admit.... this thing, even though it's an EV, is sexy and sinister AF looking.... I'm sure I saw an article the other day saying Lotus has had record losses recently. They should've stuck to making fun, light, relatively cheap ICE sports cars.
I have one too… My guess is they will once they’re back on their feet financially. Gotta pay some bills first. I’d be shocked if they didn’t somehow leverage the legacy of the Elise/Exige eventually, though (albeit electric only, heavier, but as light as possible, small, fun to drive…)

If anything it's saving electricity because of the increase in efficiency, which is why they do it in the first place by removing the draggy regular side mirrors
And the centre screen that's always on, the active aero, those things that pop out of the roof, the gimmick ambient lighting, electric seating, 5 billion driving lights on the front......

Also, it's not like you're going to constantly drive at 255 kph or similar where drag actually becomes noticable, so having cameras instead of mirrors is just some more tech bs to show off

looks like they are channeling air into the front wheel wells but there is no proper escape for the air causing massive amounts of drag. I can hear all the air circulating in the wheel wells, trying to keep up with the speed when it goes 200+ kph
I drive a Model 3 Performance as a daily driver so I have that as a reference point. I tested the Electre at the launch (we are looking for a replacement for my father's Q8) and it was a terrible experience. This car seems to suffer from the same problems, unable to properly unload the torque to the ground. Have they fixed all the software bugs? (I encountered 2 in 30 minutes of testing); good handling and brakes but too stiff even with the soft suspension. Does it have a sentry mode like Tesla? The dealer could not answer me. Assistance in case of problems? This is not a toy but a daily driver. For the price honestly it is not worth it, at the moment he is evaluating a Porsche.
Can you please do a Macan EV Turbo quick review? Would especially like to know if I should get with rear wheel steering or not. Don’t want it to behave like this car due to that add on. Ordered for wifey, December build :)

@@Tagarash1thing is right, the plaid is not that bad of a car. Being a model s, its handling is mid compared to the model 3, the lucid air and even other large sedans. But its 2 tonnes compared to the emeya’s 2.5 tonnes, its cheaper, its more powerful, its much quicker and faster, the interiors are largely the same, the model s looks better, it has more top end power due to carbon fibre gears in the drive train. And its not as if the emeya has a large reliable v8 to redeem itself. Theyre both electric so id instantly choose the plaid.

The infotainment system standing there like it is from some other place, flapping in the breeze giving that "futuristic flying in the space" feeling. It looks to me like the 2000s when we attached the GPS navigation on the suction cup holder somewhere on the windshield or the dashboard. I REALLY hate it and it is everywhere now. On top of that in order to save 0.00001$, the manufacturer removes the all time needed physical buttons for climate controls, audio volume and such and implements everything in the touch screen, buried in 3 consecutive sub menus making more and more distraction and involvement for the driver. And it is getting worse with every new generation of cars.
Apart from being a Chinese car, I kinda like the interior, there's only one big screen, the cluster itself looks "minimalist", I really hate those new cars with side to side screens that look cheap as hell.
In contrast to the backward minded folks here who think their 316i is peak of automobile history, I like this car and I think its a cool EV. I would have other cars on my list before I'd spend 110k for this car, but its impressive.
