I get a lot of requests from people looking for prefab options that are available now on the East Coast and today I'm going to show you one option. This is pretty much the norm for these videos. Not Kerry's fault, it's just these companies aren't creating affordable options for the people that are actually looking at manufactured homes. Ironically I doubt many of these companies will be successful without investors considering the target audience are people that are supposed to be looking for affordable options.

Boxabl & Zennihome appear to be only prefab companies with realistic pricing points in NA. Everything else appears to be ridiculous - don’t understand how they will get any business.

I have worked with both Bensonwood and Unity Homes. They are phenomenal. Yes, the cost is up there, but what you get are the most energy efficient, well built homes out there. Also, time is money. These homes are put together in roughly a week. That saves tons of time...and time is money

Thank you so much for the kind words! The time savings is crucial, as we can be building the insulated home envelope at our factory while the foundation and site preparation is underway. Our pre-engineered design components also allow for floor plan flexibility without having to start from scratch with a custom design. :)

Interesting design, pleasing to the eye, great idea,. The price is outrageous considering the product comes disassembled and doesn’t include the cost of the local contractor to complete the construction before moving in. I’m not sure I grasp how this wonderful process makes these homes more affordable. As always, great job. Thank you.

Thanks for the comment, before a build contract is ever signed during the design phase, our clients partner with a local builder so they will know the cost of their scope of work in addition to our scope from the very beginning. Compared with custom design through an architect, our pre-engineered designs are much cheaper. High performance homes are by nature more expensive than traditionally built homes due to their Passive House levels of airtightness and specialized continuous insulation panels. We are working hard to scale and lower our costs, that is an important part of our mission! :)

Your coverage of prefab is good but you fail to cover the horizontal development process and cost (site preparation ). Do a show on costs, interview grading contractors, civil engineers and septic specialists. Utilities (electric and water) as well.

The Nano starts at 260K and thats without the interior built out and appliances. Plug in land aquisition, engineering for septic, utilities and site preparation and now your talking about a 500 SF tiny home for 475K to 775K. Unity homes is a total joke when it comes to affordability!
HINT: GET A BETTER-PAYING TYPE OF WORK...LIKE MAYBE A GOP HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES STOOGE FOR THE OIL LOBBYISTS, EH!?
Prefab sounds nice but the price/sq ft is 2-3X ($300-500/sq ft) the national average. Add in lead times, delivery restrictions, etc. and most people looking for something like this (country, off grid) are way better building a post frame for ~$100/sq ft or less; and that's finished (minus furniture) with interior buildout, flooring, fixtures, appliances, HVAC, contingency, etc.
At 5:41. Doh! Kerry, I put a down payment on a Lloyoll Skali home for your Christmas present this year. Oh well, I guess I'll have to cancel...

These rival traditional homes in price, they look good and are faster to assemble. I like that they are adaptable.
Its unfortunate that homebuying is out of reach for so many average Americans, regardless of type of build.

We recently moved from the PNW to NH and had been looking at Unity since before the pandemic. Pre-pandemic we were very excited by what we saw and did a lot of research. The homes are highly energy efficient with the addition of solar panels, potentially net zero. Yes, in most areas they only provide the shell but what a shell. Once having move back east however, the economy tanked and inflation raged. We were able to tour an open house of an incomplete home in a nearby town where Unity was the completion contractor. The home was beautiful even though incomplete. The quality all around was bar none.The house was so quiet and physically comfortable inside and the HVAC had not been completed yet. Unfortunately what was once well within our budget was no longer possible, with all of the shortages and price increases. After looking at Cozy Cabin prefab homes (affordable for some), we have decided to go with a prefab two car garage with an 800 sq ft living space above and plenty of room for solar panels on the roof. Unity homes are the best but no longer affordable to the masses. They were once though. Kerry, check out Cozy Cabins in PA. Based on your set, you will love them.

Love their product BUT after inquiring from our Raleigh, NC, location, it's clear they are only available on the "northeast" coast of the US. Shipping from NH beyond a day's drive elevates cost considerably...to the point they said not to pursue it.
Beautiful homes. Sure glad they're on the East Coast, otherwise I'd be tempted to purchase something astronomically priced. But hey maybe they'll give you a bargain price considering you've posted this video.
AH, HAH! I knew it. I loved Legos and the only reason I stopped playing with them was my mother wouldn't let me take them to college with me. Now I know why I like them: they are like cheeseburgers! If a=b and b=c, the a must equal c. SO, if Logos are like Unity Home and Unity Homes is like cheeseburgers, then Legos are like cheeseburgers. This is great news.

The houses N options are great. It tge prices are comparable to regular stick built homes so not sure where the advantage is in these homes

Unity is special. It will cost. The price sensitive buyer will look elsewhere.
I know you can't make everyone happy, but at those prices I could have it built locally. Probably for less.

I agree was loving the designs until you said prices. You can have any construction company come on to your land and build all those homes for far less money and have better residual value if you want to sell because it’s not a prefabricated. I am talking probably 1/4 to 1/2 the price listed including all site prep. No wonder they have only done 100 homes in that long of a time. Surprised they haven’t went bankrupt yet. Sorry Kerry I know you just find these companies.

I guess those two are similar in some ways but it doesn't hurt much if you step on a cheeseburger in the middle of the night. 😏
No question that the high quality and supreme style is there, but they are very expensive.
I would like to see a video on what it takes (other than buying the home itself) to create a space like this. Getting and preparing the land. All of the hook-ups to utilities. I imagine it's a lot more than just plopping a house on it. If you've already done a YT on this I would appreciate the link.

Hey Kerry! I enjoy your videos very much! I'm going to retire soon and I'm super interested in down sizing and your videos are informative and entertaining. But I have questions. With space at a premium, are bathrooms based on unique (ie expensive) toilets and fixtures? For example are the toilets a standard size? If one has a horrible accident can I go to a box store and purchase another one or are they designed uniquely for that house platform? Or a window proves faulty? Or a solar panel goes kaput? A reasonable price for a cool house is great, but maintenance is a big concern for me. Perhaps a video on these kind of details in the future? Or if one exists can you direct me to it? Thanks from a guy that lives in the tornado belt of Alabama.

I really care LESS HOW the home is built if the price is ridiculously high!! The whole purpose for this was to get the cost down and it seems as little time passes, the prices keep going up and up to where they're no less than a stick built home. CRAZY. NOT interested in JUMBO over-priced homes!!
