- Over the past few weeks, we’ve been dialling up our wave menu with Wavegarden, with 18 wave types being put through their paces - including The Beast, an intense, slabbing, sidewinding barrel that also offers sections for turns and airs. In early November we welcomed some of Australia’s best surfers, and icons of Victorian surfing, to catch (more than) a few with us in Tullamarine. UrbnSurf, we should be able to sign up for beast mode sessions.. one above your current Advanced setting... that would be rad... this wave looks awesome.. keen to try more settings you guys have
Just watched a guys vid who went here and he said beast mode isn't offered to the public. If you are wanting these waves you want get it. A shame because i really wanted to go!
Yeah I had a surf here it was super fun but I didn’t see any beast mode.... it’s actually really saddening... they should let people do it at their own risk
Same deal at the new one here in the uk, the advertising video was sick but for public they can’t have it on beast setting. F ing scam
They actually did allow it to the public but closed it due to people hitting their head on the concrete bottom if they fell. It’s a lawsuit waiting to happen if they left it to the public. You can still get beast mode but you have to privately rent out the pool for a session
I feel like they should make a reserved session like for 1 hour every day day or for one whole day during the week where people can book in a session that goes beast mode but everyone has to wear helmets and sign a form that states they understand the risk they are taking....... just a thought !

If you break down the cost per wave what does it come to? What happens with taking turns etc? It would suck to pay and turn up and get snaked left right and centre!
angus draffan that’s not how wave pools work. It’s a wave each not a free surf session.
angus draffan I only got 6 turns provided for my hour so that would be approximately $13 per wave but people paddling our or fallen off interrupt your wave riding
I got like 13 waves when I went so yeah they were $6 waves pretty much.. everyone pretty much gets a wave per set each

There will be one in switzerland, and there is one in bristol
We have many great waves, but large crowds and most places are not very consistent
Would be good if they were upright overhead barrels instead of 4ft crouch barrels. The waves are good, yes, however they are very short and very small. Still pack a small punch when you come off, but nothing crazy. Full overheads are what we really want.
No beast mode no go for me. The other modes look average at best im sure after a day there on slow mode you will be over it real quick. the ocean for me something a wave pool will never equal

What I wanna know is why do the veterans (advanced riders) of the sport have to pay more than beginners? This is wrong! should be equal pricing for all surfers.

How much for a years membership, obviously you need to make some money,
Paul M $3100 or $3500 to surf early and a whole year (50 surfs) or you can pay for each session which is $79 per hour

Paul M yeah sorry. With the Gold membership you get 4 surfs a month which equals 50 surfs a year at the pool (50 surfs a year because they are closed for maintenance is august so it’s not 52 surfs) 1 surf is one hour you can’t just go whenever you want. You also get 2 free surfs to make up for maintenance so 52 surfs a year. Check it out on their website all the info is there.
Chiron Scacciante so I went to the website and you get 1 hour per week and there is no day specified or time , I would of thought that a years membership would of allowed access anytime whether it was crowded or not just by first come first served by just getting into a line , there is also no opening hours on the website, for me who surfs everyday 1 hour per week is no where near enough, it seems my expectations and the reality isn’t even close so I’ll be chasing waves somewhere else, if it changes to surf whenever you want just get in a line I think those gold membership tickets would sell like hot cakes , especially with the quality of the wave , it’s up there with Kelly’s wave pool for sure

Have a look at average joes vids of “beast mode” looks nothing like this and half the size! Dudes are barely getting barreled! Two foot chandelier head dips and the rest of the modes are worse. This is just to get ya psyched to just be let down. Just go to lunas for a barrel! Haha
I read in the google reviews that, after a couple of clowns hit the concrete bottom a little harder than the doctor recommends, now you have to book out the pool exclusively to get Beast. There's always some clown who ruins it for everyone!
@@casper2095 Couldn't they have put in a softer, rubberized bottom on their tank? Seems like something that they could have prepared for, better.
I think I wrote that before having tried it out... now that I have, I understand the problem a little better... the water is crystal clear and the bottom of the pool universally white; in the real world there is churned up sand, boils, drains, black slabs, and generally a few natural hints that the bottom is about to fall out in the approaching section. In the pool there were no clues, just white everywhere, so, as a very ordinary joe, I did have a lot of trouble picking exactly when/where the barrel would happen, and even knowing it was 'around here somewhere' got caught very high on the face more than once. Sorry clowns. If spongy bottom is too problematic, just painted lines to show the bottom contours would be an improvement.
Yeah why not make this available? Give free helmets and give waiver contract. Expert was fun but this looks more like what we’re after
