@@RedBullSurfing absolute charger! Give him and his clan all the help they need to March the sport on for Everyone around the world! True pioneers. Loved the part all about the saftey team. Those guys need highlighted more.
Wonderful production. Thanks for the visibility into the safety crews, the spouses' and siblings' involvement and of course the clips from Lahaina. Aloha from Minnesota.
These kai videos are just totally out there it's amazing to watch the skill and bravery going so fare towards the limits of the best sport and life style in the world.
I have never surfed in my life but I find this sport fascinating and through Kai Lenny's videos I discovered the discipline of big waves tu surfing. Kai Lenny is an inspiring person and I wish him the success he deserves, God bless !
Beautiful video. Truly a glimpse into many of the most interesting aspects of what it is to be a human; push the limits of nature, community, and overcoming tragedy. Rest in peace to those lost in the fires.
Awesome video with those spectacular crazy waves. The new generation of surfers is truly amazing. As far as the tragedy goes in Lahaina, I extend my condolences to the great people of that region. Even though this is not the best forum to discuss this, anybody who is aware of the misdeeds of the US government will know that the Lahaina fires were not natural, they were man made.
I have huge respect for all these big wave surfers, but Kai does something that the other surfers don't seem to... Other surfers seem like they are trying to stay up and not die. Kai looks back at these giant waves and seems to think "time to play with this thing".
Dude, I used to do the holding breath exercises too, it saved my life so many times, but I remember once falling off and getting crunched and spinned that completely took my air and mashed it out of me, I panicked and kicked to surface, thank God i was only 10 feet under, most of the times i would get pushed to the bottom around 20 feet, and i wouldn't have made it up
Whenever I go surfing I always forget to bring my helicopter to relaunch my ski after it gets beached on the rocks. Come to think about it, I’ve been forgetting my drone operator, spotter, personal paramedic, second jet ski and surfboard wrangler as well. Maybe that’s why I keep going over the falls.😂😂😂 Jokes aside though, you are all legends and I am sorry for your losses.
Earlier today, I was just wondering if it was possible for someone to foil like this, and then YT shows this video from a couple of days ago. Yeesh, that's astounding... the stuff he does on a foil, on the giant waves!
Everything, the amazing surfing, great human interest, charity work, and showing all those spectacular falls, and the safety crew spotlight... great video all around.
To be an athlete and to push the edge you have to train. I absolutely detest the gym and the pool but I swim miles and I go to the gym 2 to 3 times a week because I’m gonna swim with whale sharks and I’m gonna go snowboard and I’m going surfing tomorrow. My daughter can hold her breath for minutes because she is a warrior of the sea, and just as good with the bow and arrow. We inspire each each other. Kai, you are such an inspiration because we are as strong as we want to be given our circumstance we push and push until we’re 6 foot under and I’m smiling at you
Just a thought.. when a surfer goes down after fall, how about having a “tracker device” on the surfer’s body, perhaps connected to the drone above them?
Hey i have Been surfing a 7ft foam board, i am 5 foot 7 inches and is pretty new to surfing, would a 6,4 shortboard be a choice? If you maybe have some board suggestions i would love to hear Them, but not too expensive🙏
This was an awesome video. Insane Surfing. 🌊🌊🏄🌊🌊 What an amazing community. This is why I fight for combating Climate Change. So that We dont have to continue to watch community's get wiped out by natural disasters of increasing size year after year.
Kai is the 1st surfer 🏄 to tell you that Yes holing your breath drills and being a physical speciman is crucial when surfing giant waves. But MORE IMPORTANTLY its how you control your mind and the ability to master your fear and not panic. I sure dont have it. Triple o.h. was the biggest i s😮urfed living in so cal. Back in the day 35' Waimea was the proving ground Today, my goodness. In another 40 years will 200 ft waves be surfed 🏄 ???????
What are costs for rescue operations--helos, jet-skis, personnel, training--and who's paying? And what insurance do these guys carry for ambulance, hospitalization? Red Bull covering all of THAT? Must be hella expensive.
4:30 if THAT is a 15 yr old KID, i disagree with EVERTYHING they all said! When i was out at Margaret River, aged 14, and found all weathered watermen in their late 20s, 30s and up out there and the waves were HUGE, i KNEW i shouldn't be out there! It's TOO DANGEROUS and KIDS shouldn't be out there! Of course u _want_ to, as a kid but it's like getting tatoos, you don't have the adult _brain_ development to MAKE THOSE DECISIONS yet!
*** Casually clicks video.... 4 seconds in: WHAT THE FU---- 🤯😅 Kai is a legend
ong
You tell a story that is about surfing, but, more importantly, it is about people, about humanity. That is what makes any story worth telling! 🙂
Well said
So if it was about a grizzly bear jerking off in the woods it wouldn't be worth telling ?
😆 k
These Life of Kai Videos are bloody brilliant! Keep them coming for years please Red Bull Surfing!
Love to hear it!

This is less about Kai and more about the crew there. Well done.
And then the fire...
And then the fires. Time for the waterworks. This is a powerful video. Mahalo to all involved.

Kai and his wife are such kind and gentle people. I wish nothing but the best for them. Stay safe!
The end gave me goosebumps

A+ story telling with Lahaina as a bonus. You should put that in the title

Man, living here on Big Island. It would be so cool if my mommy had a pool too that I could practice holding my breath in. Money does a lot
101 people lost to that fire💔
