Omg fucking wild- I just found your channel randomly, and I also got a call last week that I can finally have top surgery… on july 15th too due to a cancellation 😂😂 so from another NL transmasc, CONGRATS AND ENJOY!!
Congratulations, I'm so happy for you. I can't even pretend to know about transitioning or trans gender issues, so I would love you to teach me more. Xx
youre so sweet, congratulations and best wishes for your surgery!! im also trans and it's really wonderful hearing you share your joy, especially in an asmr format
I’m so glad I happened upon your channel today! First of all HUGE CONGRATS!!! I’m so excited for you and looking forward to your updates! I’m in the US and the whole top surgery process is similar but different, most surgeons (and insurance) will have you get a letter of recommendation from a therapist that contains a gender dysphoria diagnosis. getting surgery quickly mostly depends on the surgeon and their waitlist. My surgeon had a very short waitlist since I went with someone a bit less well known for top surgery, I was originally scheduled not even a month out but it was cancelled due to me not meeting bs requirements from my insurance (they wanted me to be 6 months on T and I wasn’t yet). I also got my surgery canceled the second time around also due to insurance but luckily in that case they just rescheduled me a few days later and it was done over 6 months ago! It was legit so traumatizing tho that I was basically holding my breath until the final days waiting and hoping I didn’t get another cancelling phone call. It sounds like the system is a bit different there, hopefully you don’t have to deal with any BS like that and can just take ur time preparing for the day! Also that bit at the end about people who don’t support trans people missing out on such beauty. Yes,, just yes, this is exactly how I feel sometimes. When I had just gotten on T and was realizing that I could actually appreciate my body and I started to become more myself, it got me thinking about my mother. She’s never been supportive of queer people and only gotten worse over time, but I used to be very close to her before she got too deep into it. I’ve long since stopped talking to her for plenty of reasons (transphobia included) and never came out to her. But it made me sad, that as a parent, she would rather sink in to her own beliefs then go on this journey with me. Knowing someone I was close to would rather be stuck in their ideal of me then the real me. It sucks. But at the end of the day, I’m sad that she threw away her chance to be a good parent, not sad that I don’t speak to her anymore. Anyway! So cool to hear your thoughts and feelings as you go on this journey. Hoping this month goes by quickly for you :)
First of all, thankyou for taking the time to educate me and share such a personal experience in your journey.🩷 Our trajectory seems different when it comes to demands placed on us in order for us to get health care. And the obviously obliterating waiting list in the Netherlands in comparison to the months you've had to endure. Yet we share the similarity of getting disappointed by those we ought to rely on and the medical trauma of distrusting the promises made to us. I am so pleased to hear you got the help you needed! I will gladly be your adoptive mother now. I know that goes against my identity but hey, you deserve family that celebrates you and sees you in all your glory. 🫶🏻
@@ASMRpaperbackboyThank you for you response, its so sweet! Yeah it seems like the consensus is wherever you go trans healthcare is something that often has to be fought for by the patients, there are so many roadblocks in the way. And dont worry! Even tho my mom was not supportive most people around me are now :) if not trans themselves lmao.
congratulations!!!! so excited for you!!!!
