I got the privilege to ride on an '80 or '79 RM80 when I was a kid. The rider's name was Kirk. Wow, damn, that thing was fast and so much fun. Kirk don't even know the path that ripping two stroke has led me on.
So I talked to a guy who had a CB750 Honda street bike inline 4 cylinder engine (about 80 horsepower) on a XL650 Honda enduro. He removed the single cylinder engine (about 50 horsepower) and put the inline 4 on there. It looked totally factory, the frame was barely modified, because the 650 single engine is massive, and so the bike fit the 4 cylinder engine without much trouble. It had a 4 into 1 muffler that looked basically stock. It was very practical, and basically a match made in heaven. I cannot understand why the manufacturers haven't made more 2 or 4 cylinder enduro's here in America. An inline 4 is far superior to a V-Twin or a Single.

The hardest thing about riding something like this in the woods would be the steering and the gearing. Sport bikes can't maneuver well in tight quarters. That rider is incredibly talented. Unless he changed the gearing, it would be hard to ride slow enough since it can do 100+ in first gear. Great for sand and open areas though.

I could have that thing on the road in an hour. Try to plate a regular dirtbike, its a nightmare. It took me 3 months and 4 trips to the bmv to plate a wr450 bc it didnt come with an onroad title
It's cool...but have you ever seen the Ad Boivin Snowhawk Top Gun? It's a purpose built snowbike with the guts of an 800 HO 2-stroke snowmobile. Would certainly be much lighter and have better real-world performance than this pile of add-ons.
I would have rather seen a 600cc street bike engine in a dirt bike so it would be more light weight and suitable to ride as a dirt bike. Maybe hit higher jumps as well.
