    Thank you for the wonderful information you may be the only one who points bloody dorsiflexion difficulties for the patients been told to do just one or two move, obviously just two moves are not enough most of us see very small improvement. Can this improvisation be achieved at home with some alternative exercises and how long one must do per day if we have no chance to access proper phsio therapy? What needs to be checked in terms of film scan etc in order to dorsiflex to recover if we access the phsio therapist? Who does the soft tissue damage- stickiness-stiffness check up except from the op and post op drs?

    Hey I have a Bimalleolar Equivalent ankle fracture, Weber b distal fibula fracture. The orthopedic doctor said I tore my Deltoid ligament but I don't have any pain on the inside of my ankle wondering if I should get a second opinion. He said that Had I not torn the deltoid ligament I wouldn't need surgery. But we only did XRay so I'm confused how he can be certain it's torn.

    Very good information! I had a weber B stable fracture with a very very light displacement, i was told i didnt need the surgery and was put on aircast/NWB for 6 weeks, we did 3 xray within that time frame, after 6 weeks i was advised go WB and started PT, on my 11th weeks, the bone did not have any healing, we did a CT and it was a spiral through and through break, i did my surgery 5 weeks ago which was approx 12.5 weeks post injury, i was gutted, one plate 7 screws, so im hoping when my cast is off on 8sept there is really healing now, im so done with this injury.

      I have a Weber B mildly displaced oblique fracture of the distal fibular at the snydesmosis level. At 22 days in I'm in a Ortho boot putting weight on it it's still swollen and a piece of my bone is jagged and it's still kind of sticking out and the surgeon said they'll probably be a bump there I'm just wondering is this going to heal and isn't it too early for me to be walking in a Maxtrax airwalker tall boot she says I can drive I don't feel stable I sleep with it on I only take it off to shower and I've been sponge bathing to cut down on taking showers and standing on it without the boot support.

    • @katzche
      @katzche Рік тому +1

      @@dancetilldawn484 Sorry, I understand your concern. I am still swollen also. MY surgery was in September of 2022. I assumed, being confident in my MD, that I would heal and I did. I think you need to bring this back to your doctor. We are all different, and at 3 weeks I was very uncertain about getting around too. Maybe the PT here can provide some insight into the bone kinda sticking out. Can't respond to that. Good Luck! Second opinions are available, easier with insurance.

    @ClinicalPhysio I had a Weber C fracture, and the dr says that means I must have also torn my syndesmosis and deltoid ligaments. I had surgery to repair the broken fibula, as well as open reduction and internal fixation screwing my tibia and fibula together. The ligaments were NOT repaired through surgery. The dr says that because of the ORIF surgery that they will heal on their own over time. Is this true?

    Can you tell which fracture; high or low looking at MRI? Initially multiple X-ray did not show any fracture. MRI after two months shows effusion, a moderate to large joint effusion of the tibiotalar joint from the

  • @Bluemoonfarm17

    I think my fracture would be considered a Weber A fracture? The fibula had an oblique fracture starting at the bottom and moving upwards (I got bucked off a horse and landed on my right foot, the ankle did not collapse, stayed straight up and down like a pile driver). I was in a cast and crutches for 3 weeks, then the ortho told me to stay in a walking boot for 3 weeks, but I’m having too much hip pain with that after 2 weeks so I’ve moved on to a lace up brace instead. I’m still having significant swelling of the entire calf and ankle once I’ve been on my feet for a while. Is this something I should be concerned about? Other than that I’m getting around fairly well now and don’t have a lot of pain anymore. Thank you for this very informative video. This is the best one I’ve found about this type of fracture.
