Works amazing. My quarter panel on my truck was damaged. 3 ft by 1 ft area fill of scratches. This took the scratches down to 90%. There are a few very small deeper scratches left. I have to say this thing is amazing.
Great to hear! Thank you for sharing. 👍
I love the intro music to these videos.
I have used this to remove swirls, restore headlights, and wax my car and I love it.
Make sure you use the correct pad for each type of detailing. The drill you want to use is a light weight variable drill, with an RPM range of at least 2k. the drill used in this video is the same dewalt 3/8 drill I have and it works great. I have a slower black and decker drill that didn't perform well with this DA.
What is the RPM max on this drill?
Chris Cordless drills don’t go above 900 rpm so they wouldn’t work. Any variable corded drill will work as they easily reach 2000 rpm
Not sure what wildwhisperer is talking about but cordless drills will definitely work and they will work very well. My DeWalt has a 3-speed transmission that offers 0-575; 0-1,350; and 0-2,000 RPM.
I really hope Meguiars will do version 2 of this, with replaceable backing plate. I have few DA backing plate that deteriorate over time, hence why i didnt jump into the bandwagon on getting this added to my arsenal.
Appreciate the feedback. 👍
Thank u Guys Been Using your Product for Almost 20 Years
Wish the DA Polisher can be used with a Right Angle 1/4" Impact Driver like the Milwaukee M12 and M18.
only polish if you really really need to. 1 to 2 times a year max. everytime you polish it remove a very small amount of the clear coat. so if you do it often you;ll be in trouble. i personally use a glaze, gives it a good shine without the clearcoat removal. as for waxing do the beading test. wash your car, if the water doesn't bead its time for some wax, that's usually around every 3 months
I like my Power DA very much, recomend it.
Neee
Nice, now detailing can be cordless!
Like what zacharycarney stated, also a cordless drill would run out of power quickly. But if that's all you have, you'll be fine doing small areas or if you have extra battery packs that can last a while.
It does do its job. Remember just like any paint correction it all depends on skill and amount of time and how you do it. My first usage turned out quite well. If I had a bigger pad and bigger jars of compound and polish and double checked my progress it would have been much better!
This looks good for a motorcycle. I would like to try it, but don't want to spend all the money on the whole system. What I use now on a motorcycle is a Mothers mini ball that works great for compound and polish might sound nuts, but it works. I would really like to try it.
I used it and it works! Where can I find extra buffers
You can also use 105 or 100 for cutting with their micro fiber cutting pads if not the burgundy ones polishing 205 works great
Same + $5 off coupon! Gonna try it out when the weather gets better.
Forward (direction you would drill a bolt in) as most drills would have reduced speed when in reverse.
Just got this kit at Wal-Mart for around $80 gana test it out
Thanks for a nice easy demo and a good product.
I have used the compound, polish and wax and they transformed my car. I used a different da polisher and when using the wax I used the pad they supplied in the box and applied by hand. In the video he wasted so much wax. Just apply a little at a time and you would be surprised at how far a little can go.
You probably let the polish dry, try using either an IPA solution or applying more polish to liquify the dry polish and it should wipe off easily
What compound should I use when the attachment vibrates out of the chuck?
my guess as to the reason they want you to use a corded one is because the constant use and resistance from the DA will drain the battery and result in uneven performance. again this is just my guess.
the polish cotains heavy oils so you spend all day working for that shine and 1 wash later shine gone , or you end up swirls , and a dead drill .
amazon. but really you are saving a few bucks. unless it has free shipping you ought to go get it at the store.
Yeah ! I bought it ^!^
Is it worth it???
I love meguiar's products but to me the cost of this system is too much when I can go to harbor freight and buy the drill attachment for a few bucks.
So do you wash the car, polish and then wax?
Meguiar's Ultimate Compound
Meguiar's Ultimate Polish
Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax
So I can use all 3 products at once in the same area. ?
Is pre-wax cleaner the same as polish? If not what comes first, pre-wax cleaner or polish? Thanks!
Does it matter which way the drill spins?
Just brought one of these home. Is the polisher supposed to spin counter clockwise even though the drill is turing clockwise, or did I get a defective unit?
Can you go straight to polish formula without compound first ? I just have fading.
Usually "fading" is a sign of oxidation and the best way to address that is with an effective but safe compound like our Ultimate Compound. Using a polish (depending on which specific polish) may temporarily restore gloss/shine but may be ineffective at removing the oxidation.
plz what's diference between wax and Polish thanks
Will this process remove Orange Peel paint? thankyou
If the ultimate polish doesnt come off as easily as shown could the polish have gone bad ?
This might be a dumb question, but could I use this power tool for the clay bar process?
Do you HAVE to use a corded drill, or is it ok with a cordless?
Do you can tell me, which three products does the man uses.
Thanks.
Greetings from germany.
Will this DA power system work well with my car? It got damages by a paint shop and I need to fix it. Please watch my latest video I'm no stressed. Oh and which pad would work the best thanks in advance
Shouldn't you Prime the pads before using with a pad Conditioner?
Hi Raymond, the technique you mention is typically used by professionals when working on sensitive paints. On a d/a polisher with foam pads, it is not necessary to prime pads with any spray wetting agent prior to using. The liquid being used disperses very quickly across the face of the pad, providing lubricity.
Cheapest place to buy this?
do not wash them...the scatch unstucks from the pad
Will this work with a paste wax?
does top coat M69916 also work on meguiar's deep-crystal M188? Thank you.
good idea but this would take all day!! just get the DA polisher.. 3in vs 7in pad, saves you 6 hrs of your life.. nice for touch ups..
How do you know when the wax is ready
When you wipe on the wax it goes away clean instead of smearing.
How about the polish. You don’t want that to dry. I think you all missed the boat on this video.
Can I use the Da power system and brown pads with M105 compound? And the yellow pad with m205?
Where can you buy this?
Do you guys offer larger pads?
Tried everything and still no results... so this actually doesn't work and before everyone starts yes im using the right products and techniques and yes i working small imperfections
Sorry to hear about your experience. Certainly cannot comment without many more details but generally speaking theres is a limit of what is possible with this tool. This tool does offer better results in many cases versus hand application but it is still short of a dedicated DA machine and/or more aggressive mixes of pads, products, etc.
If you would like to discuss the specifics of your vehicle and other options that may produce better results please feel free to reach out to our Solutions Hub...

i got one of these. i used the ultimate compound and polish. the compound was extremely difficult to remove and the polish was not much better. both products looked uneven after buffing off the products. after 10 minutes and 2 towels to remove the product i still could see where there was some residue. it took a lot of pressure with the towel to remove these. i'd never be able to do the whole car in a day.
Dont ever do the whole car before removing lmao especially in warmer weather, i always do my car one panel at a time.
That's because you are doing it wrong.
3M Polish is pricey but you avoid this problem. You absolutely don't need to do one panel at a time. I have had to sand and buff as many as 4 cars a day and have used every polish sold. If you get an area that is hard to remove use warm wet microfiber towel.
same problem. the compound can be dry. try spraying it with a mist of water to prime the pad and a little on the surface. use a conditioner if you have access to one.
can I use this with meguir's gold class paste wax?
The finished side still had swirls D:
Is ultimate compound and polish the same thing?
Usually you would compound to get rid of the scratches then use the polish to even it out and make it more shiny. After that you would wax it. Its kind of like using 1000 grit sand paper then dropping down to 3500 grit then using something to fill in the tiny scratches to make it shiny.
de wallt cordless
Hi, I have always, that is till now, used a other product, but never felt really satisfied, but is about to start to use Meguiars from now on. Can you just please tel me, after I washed my car with your product, do I then use the POLISH, and then the WAX, or the other way around? And is their a other product I must use after that?
You wax then wait like 5-10 minutes and polish
+hmongpride03 ....hi....thank you very much....
***** ....hi thank you very much, I will contact your centre...
Can you use the ultimate paste wax on glass and lights as well?
Yes
How far down do you want to squeeze on the drill trigger?
probably quarter, moderate speed
That looks... Comfortable?
will this machine burn the paint !!
No, just follow the instructions for best results
Thank you
I don't really know what will happen if you don't have it flat on the paint but DONT TRY IT
What pad would you guys suggest if I’m using a one and done compound and polish? Using both the compounding pad and polishing pad defeats the purpose of the product I’ll be using (T.W 1&done pro line).
Can't speak for someone else's product but if you are referring to a product that is a cleaner/wax you can choose any of the 3 options depending on what level of defects you are hoping to remove. If have swirl marks, fine scratches, oxidation, or water spots you will likely want to use the foam cutting pad (burgundy). If you do not you can use either the polishing pad (yellow) or the finishing pad (black).
My polishing pad (yellow) was detached from it velcro. I've just using it for a panel (front hood),.When trying to detached the pad from DA power system, it easily fully detached from the velcro. I'm not sure why it happened, the velcro was completely soaked with polishing compound when it detached and the pad is still brand new. Any suggestion how to make it stick together again? btw, I noticed that the burgundy pad has full size velcro compared to polishing and waxing pad.
Hi, thank you for the response. I've solved the problem. I reattached it using super glue gel based product, it bond so hard and very good for porous surface :)
I just bought da power system and want to ask can I use yellow pad wax my jeep
Technically you can use any of their pads for any job, but you're not gonna get optimal results. Each pad is designed with different resistance and density to properly apply the product it aligns with.
is this safe for vinyl pinstiripes? i have a truck with oxidation and would like to buff it but i don't want to damage the pin stripes.
Jayk Anderson wax portion should be fine on the stripes, however if polishing I would recommend putting the green masking tape on the stripe. I
can i use the power system with cordless drill too?
+Tomer Tzur Yea but you might need to charge the battery in the middle of it.
Can I use another 5 inch pad on it?
The backing plate is fixed & only for use with the 4" D/A Power Pads
Kinda scared my dewalt corded drill spins to fast and will burn the paint. Should I layoff of the trigger to about a half speed? What do you recommend?
They say 3500rpm max. The motion of a DA polisher makes it hard to burn through paint, but if your drill spins beyond 3500rpm at full throttle then I would only use part throttle.
jsk8drummer Whats the best drill i need to buy to use this?
Thamnk you
How does it work? Is it hiding the swirl marks or fixing it?
Travel and Food it fixes it its like wen a lizard sheds its skin ur removing a layer of clear coat thats y u shudnt polish so much as u keep removing this layer
Jinzo 315 how does a lizard shed it's skin? How does it hide it's swirl marks?
Way too much polish use 4 little dots than spread with it off, then mix it around at low speed, then turn up speed. Go until polish turns clear, buff off and inspect results. Literally nothing this guy did was right.
and who can recommend me a nice cordless drill that will work well
+Tomer Tzur makita 3 speed.
what drill does he use?
+Tomer Tzur why, a Meguiar's drill of course!
+Bill Dozer what?
He's using a Dewalt DWD110K.
I have the yellow pads and I bought extras and couldn't find the black pads for the wax/sealant, can I get by by just using the yellow? for glaze/polish and wax?
Thanks
Corded drill only??? Can’t You use. A cordless drill???
Yes, you can certainly use a cordless but keep in mind the power varies widely and may not remove defects as well during the compounding step as a corded drill with better consistent power. If you are simply spreading wax it should not make much of a difference at all.
what drill can work well and fit with this polisher?
any drill, but one with a speed control is better
HEY... Read this, if you want the truth.. I have black 03' Deville, DTS. paid $275 to have detailed, guy put swirl marks all through my Caddy. I found this and did it. WOW... it does work. Comment earlier, the head moves up/down & side/side. If you nvr used it, you DON"T know. My caddy looks amazing, I did all 3 systems and it works. If I can do it, anyone can... I also do 2 bucket wash, thanks to Junkman.. Semper Fi Marine...
What's your dad's email address? I wanna meet that dad.
Hmmm cost of drill plus cost of DA system = the cost of an actual DA polisher....
It's still 100 dollars cheaper, either your drill is too expensive or you suck at math.
many people own a drill already.
Don't buy it is a waste of money, it will be much better to polish by hand.
Half this is so BS only to sell product. crazy
+Alfred Morrell haha! not sure if your serious. but your comment is comic gold. damn meguiar's channel trying to sell product.
waste your money
