I just want to say how much i love this series. Having a beginner learning from a pro, asking questions and getting advice as they go is just great. Thumbs up from Germany! I learnt such a lot from this series in the past few weeks...I have been using Meguiar's products in the 90s and early 2000s and I have just begun to put some more time into care care and detailing again. I was quite confused by the many different products on the market but the Meguiar's UK videos and also the short tutorials by Meguiar's Germany brought back my confidence that I chose the right brand. Thanks so much!
A comparison test with the Mirror Bright Polishing Wax, Gold Class Carnauba Plus and NXT et al would be an interesting video. See what the differences are in terms of end results, water behaviour and durability.
I prefer to hand wax. I also have used the meguairs ultimate compound/wax combo and topped it with beadmaker. It was a great set up for a super slick and glossy finish.
Absolutely! Just make sure you're using a soft/finishing pad designed for wax/sealant applications. Also, if you're using a DA polisher, you want to make sure it's on the lowest speed.
Can you still get the NxT wax? I remember when that first came out. The campaign they had here in the states. I realized the other day I haven't seen it in stores for a long time now. I just use gold class paste.
I've got a Ford Focus ST in stealth grey, which is factory colour & Soild paint. Which wax would you recommend and why. I like to apply by hand by the way.
These video's have been invaluable. Ultimate Car Wax is really great but ive never buffed and polished before using it and didnt know there was a liquid. Im sold.
I clean my car every week, I also have a few cars I look after for others. I’ve still enjoyed watching the videos. I don’t have Meguiars stuff but I’d like to try a few so it was good to watch to see how they performed. Will be good to see more if you carry on with it.
what's is the diff between Meguiar's Mirror Bright Polishing Paste Wax Cream and Meguiar's G18211 Ultimate Paste Wax? which give a deeper and highest clarity gloss.
So I opted to get the liquid ultimate wax, I noticed it has a hand applicator in the box. How much do I need to apply to the hand applicator to do the whole front end?
Hi Lads! Just bought a new Dodge Challenger in Hellraisin (purple) and was wondering which paste wax you'd recommend for the colour. Thanks - appreciate your insight!
It is best to use the waterless wax after you already have a good protection coat. It is designed to be used as a maintainer in between wax applications.
That really depends on the type of protection you're looking for. Ideally, if you're going to clay bar your vehicle, you would want to follow it up with a compound/polish and then wax the vehicle. If your paint is in great condition and little to no settlement build up exist, it is not necessary to clay bar before applying wax.
You can toss them in the washer.. Machine wash on cold. They can be tossed in the dryer with no heat or lowest heat setting, but air drying is the recommend.
My liquid Turtle Wax went white when dried. Whole car looked like it has been plastered. Had a hard time wiping it all off, while pushing on tower really hard. P.S. I did put a lot on. Why is that chaps ?
Spray wax should not be applied to a waxed vehicle on the same day. However, if a week has gone by and maybe it rained or weather conditions were not favorable, a spray wax can be added after a wash to MAINTAIN the protection of the wax.
After you have applied a good base layer of protection, spray wax's are great to maintain protection and prolong the life and need to apply another coating of protection.
I've really enjoyed this series of videos - thank you!! I've done a fair amount of car-care over the years, and whilst, as stated, some of it will be known to those that aren't just starting out, I've still gained a good few tips (hash-tag polishing for example!) which are now part of my routine.... keep up the great work guys!!! :)
You used ultimate Quick detailer after you finished can you also use Ultimate Quick Wax ? Its just to clean right and the more wax the more protection right ?
A duel action polisher isn't designed to remove wax, all of the Meguiar's paste waxes with a thin coat applied to the surface should be easy to remove with a microfibre towel. The main benefit for having a DA Polisher is defect removal.
Yes, in fact, it is not ideal to apply a ceramic coat after you have applied a wax. You can add a wax after you have done the ceramic coating, however, the ceramic coating offers a better protection that wax would.
Unless you're doing the job yourself, a good proper ceramic coating can cost thousands. Not everyone can afford to have a ceramic coat done. Waxing is a cheaper alternative and does not require professional knowledge to apply.

The Ultimate paste wax is one of our flagship waxes. It gives the most gloss and great length of protection.
Any specific preference for white pearl paint?
so never done any of this before been told you cant wax anything plastic like bumpers etc is this true car in question is a bmw e46 330ci in black?
If they are painted bumpers then yes you can. If they are exposed plastic then I'd suggest the ultimate black
So I opted to get the liquid ultimate wax, I noticed it has a hand applicator in the box. How much do I need to apply to the hand applicator to do the whole front end?
so on an average sized car we suggest a pound coin size will do half a bonnet.
why did u apply a paste wax by hand then straight after use a liquid wax ?
lambbosbread I think just showing that it’s okay to use both. You don’t have to use both at a time.

End of the line? What about nano protection or similar solutions for 1 - 3 years protection or even more?

Absolutely! As the car would already be waxed you would simply spray on and rinse off.

Quik waxes are generally a top up of your previous wax. Usually lasting around 2 weeks.

If I apply a spray wax over a paste wax will it make it any more protected or am I just wasting product?

After you’ve waxed it then the next time you wash it do you still need to use the usual products you use as I use the ceramic wax spray?

You can use the Ultimate Quick wax, but it's designed as a maintainer. The layer of protection it will provide on a freshly waxed surface is minimal.

the most advanced is Ultimate as it contains dispersed wax within the shampoo.

What about 3 in 1 wax?
do you have to use a ipa after compounding when applying a wax or sealant
You don't have to no. You can go from wiping off the compound with a microfibre towel straight into polishing or waxing.

How long did it take you to do from start to finish? From wheels to wax?
is Ultimate a "cleaner wax"?

Is it safe for a recently painted car?
Yes perfectly safe and encouraged to protect paint and maintain shine.

Can you ceramic coat instead of waxing?
Yes, in fact, it is not ideal to apply a ceramic coat after you have applied a wax. You can add a wax after you have done the ceramic coating, however, the ceramic coating offers a better protection that wax would.
I mistakenly bought the paste wax to use on my DA machine. How would I do that, without having to buy the liquid wax or doing it by hand?
You can't use the paste wax with the machine. However if it's just the waxing process you are doing the paste wax is brilliant to use by hand.
Do yo do multiple coats of wax?
Only one thin layer of wax.
I’m always terrified there’s a pebble.

Noob Question. How often we need to wax our car per month?
You could wax it every day if you'd like. It all depends on you and how much you drive it and where.
Could you also use the ceramic spray after the wax for extra protection or would that be overkill?
You could however it would just mean rinsing the car off after getting it clean.
Brilliant
What about coating?
question: is there still a purpose for wax now that ceramic coating is available?
Unless you're doing the job yourself, a good proper ceramic coating can cost thousands. Not everyone can afford to have a ceramic coat done. Waxing is a cheaper alternative and does not require professional knowledge to apply.
