- I'm building a NEW overland truck camper to live in full time, is this the perfect truck for the build or not? I've been living and camping in a truck camper or van the past few years and after testing many of the best rigs on the market, I think I finally found the perfect truck camper for me.

Overlanding and off roading in a 4x4 Ford F250 the past few years has been amazing. Sometimes simple is best and a great place to start. Exploring deserts, forests, hot springs, waterfalls, beaches and more has been life changing in my pop up truck camper but I'm starting to think it's time for a change. I've been testing out some of the best builds out there the past few years, trying to find the right camping setup for me and I think I may have found the perfect one.
Stay tuned to see what I have up my sleeve,
xoxo,
Hannah
Any guesses as to what I may be building🧐
Maybe you’re building a new toy hauler to transport your new trophy truck you’re going to race!!👍🏽🙃❤️
A solid Fututre?
wood...
😀
You could fit a 4 bedroom in the back of that thing 🏘
Whatever you do with it , it's going to be a great video .
Tweak a knee while snowboarding or have a bad knees like me from my 26 years in the military and that tailgate step really comes in handy.
I dont know how you are able to find so many extraordinary landscapes, but i thank you for finding them and sharing them. Thank you.
Do yourself a favor and buy that truck! You will not be disappointed! I bought one just like it 3 months ago and it’s the best one I’ve ever had!
About the tailgate step and extending handle, the Ford factory people refer to that as the stripper pole.
I'm always impressed by your knowledge and ability to explain technical details . Half the time i haven't a clue but listen to your delivery with great interest , and at times i learn something , so credit to your teaching skills . We don't have a need for such beasts like the F350 here in the UK , but the specs , test drive and your commentary showed it's a very impressive vehicle , but your such an excellent saleswoman . The 4200lb payload is also very impressive and if you feature the vehicle in your next video , it will be interesting to see what you have in store for us .
Big diesel motors, In N Out , and Dr Hannah... Today is a good day...
YES, YES, YES, YES, oh, and did I say YES to you keeping that truck. You look great in that thing. Hope to see more of you in it.
For building an overlander, this is the perfect truck. The 8' bed allow you to do a lot more with the build. The diesel is a lot heavier than the 7.3L but you should get better fuel economy and take us on adventurous with you further out! Just make sure to get some better off-road suspension and tires.
Love everything you do Hannah! Thanks for letting us tag along.
I don't an F350 diesel is a top pick for serious overlanders.
@@sad754yt actually, I know 2 serious overlanders that have diesel F350s. If you look at some of the world's most advanced overlanders, they are built on F550s and equivalent.
@ryansheard8092 I know where you are coming from and have seen those vehicles and the $$$ that goes into getting them there. I'm talking about the weekend overlander who heads out on Friday afternoon and comes back on Sunday night. A F350 diesel is definitelynit a first choice. F250 Tremor not a bad choice. I'm a full timer in a truck camper with a mixture of urban stealth camping and off grid camping on my own property. I have 3/4 ton Silverado gas engine for the extra payload even though my camper is only about 2k lbs wet. People usually look at those 1ton diesels for towing a fifth wheel or carry the big boy truck campers.
@sad754yt yeah, if I was doing a weekend only thing I'd go for a smaller rig.
Again Hannah in cowboy boots looking amazing. Options or not ya gotta love trucks especially the Silverado. Chevy or GMC with tailgate party package. Crew cab. Hannah you're perfect.
You will love this truck. I ordered the 2023 F-350 Crew Cab and 8' bed turbo diesel in November 2022 and took delivery in June 2023. It is huge but I put a raft for fly fishing over the bed and tow a 20' Airstream. The Airstream has a hitch for my fat bike. Still trying to sell my house before going fulltime. Maybe I'll see you panning for gold while I'm fly fishing the same stream one day! 😁
I agree with you about the extra things that I don’t need on my truck.
you definitely had fun doing this episode. showed your fun side more. Fantastic, can't wait to see what yer gonna do with it. Thanx for the entertainment.
Go with it never look back. I'm on second one. First was a 2000 with a 7.3L Diesel. I put over 300K miles in 20 years. I can share with you a few upgrades that add to longevity. I now have a 2017 dually that I did all of the same upgrades. Nothing to expensive I do recommend switching over to all Amsoil lubricants. I never had to the valve covers or rebuild the transmission in over 300K, plus you can extend fluid service intervals. Let me know if you want to know about the upgrades. They won't void your warranty. Hopefully, welcome to team Ford!
I have a 06 duramax , it has over 500,000 km never added any fuel conditioners ect, synthetic oil always used , truck has zero blow by , basically other than glow plugs, never spent a dime on the motor
I just got a 2022 Tremor a couple of months ago. Have put on about 5,000 miles. I love it. When running empty I consistently get 19 mpg. The engine brake is good. Haven't tried it out with a load yet. The Tremor comes with 35's. A little difficult to bounce in and out of the bed without the back step. I give the back step a thumbs up.
Dr Hannah WELL DONE VIDEO REVIEW ON THE F-350 TURBO DOESEL--LOVE IT-AWSOME .
Burgers and Trucking, "I" am in. "I" like the Truck, it is pretty sweet. Keep on Trucking.
hate on that tailgate step all you want, I sure did until I used it, what a life saver!!!!!
I love your channel..Watch you all the time on ROKU...On my laptop now..Can not comment on Roku but can like or dislike.. I love your honesty on your review of your truck and the rest of the reviews on other things. You are honest... I so want to live the camper life but what do I do with my home, The world lost a great Doctor but the world gained a beautiful lady who likes to rough it and you are very smart. Loved the way you changed that starter on one of your videos..... Kenny D in Tennessee
Good morning Hannah happy Monday afternoon and I hope you having amazing day today and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and i enjoy your channel
That tailgate step has been around a very long time. My 2013 had one and I loved it
In and out burgers, i knew them when i was in California for 10 years. Yes, they are the best ones. Greetings from Germany Goldprospecting with Tom
Picked up a 2022 F350 6.7l diesel Lariat and really like it. Tow a 5th wheel. Amazing power. Good luck.
It looks bigger and stronger and more room for a bigger camper so I say yes get it
Woohoo!! Awesome upgrade Hannah!! With extra upgrades make’s life much more easier!!👏🏽👏🏽🤙🏽❤️
I’m just laughing so hard about your thoughts on the chrome wheels 😂
Im glad you picked the perfect truck and I can not wait to see what you do to it!
most of my cut offs become 'Daisy Dukes' eventually, Hannah!...lol...thanks for another Fun ansd Exciting video!
Still adorable. I say Whataburger. 5 guys is to corporate. A true world class burger is made at home. Grass fed. Olive oil and bread crumbs. Onion, green pepper, garlic and pepper mixed in the meat. Raw onions and home grown tomato slab with salt and pepper. Classic pickle slices with jalapenos in it.
I camp and work out of my 11 F150. I love the tailgate step, can't see living without now.
I have a four wheel campers Grandby on a 2001 Dodge with a Cummins Diesel. Seeing this video makes me glad that I have what I do. I see absolutely no reason to change.
Hi Hannah I love seeing you in a New Truck I just worry about the Injectors in the Diesel trucks as they do go out Regularly and NO one wants to work on them That's why I'd get the Gas Engine and stay with it
Most modern gasoline engines use injectors.
You did a better review than anyone else on UA-cam good job Hannah
I like the 360 degree lighting!!!
Excellent Excellent choice Hannah 👍
Great videos Hannah! Keep them coming
Get it, you won't regret it! I drive a F150 and it's great! Lots of room and power with the 5.0l motor. My friend has a 2023 F250 6.7l diesel and it's his second one. Same color as yours, too. They're awesome trucks that you'll love. By the way, the tailgate stair and grab bar will help with getting into your camper door. There may be a day when you're not so limber, for whatever reason. 😊
Always love watching these videos Hannah! You are the best!
Kip
Hannah you missed one of the coolest features of the 6.7 L diesel in that it has a motor brake setting on it like the big trucks similar to what’s called a Jake brake on the big rigs , when you’re in the mountains going down hill or just slowing down with a load you can use your motor breaking system to slow the truck and not your brakes keeping them from overheating & saves your break pads from wearing out .
Good video ty
I had a F350 Platinum and loved it. I wish I never got rid of it
I agree with you 100% about the gizmo and gadgets! Nice new truck you got there I'm a big Ford truck person!
I drive that exact truck hauling large RV'S professionally. In many years of experience I am totally impressed by reliability and ride of the new F350 and F450. The 10 speed transmission makes all of the difference, especially in fuel mileage. In the past, I have always bought GMC or Chevy. ( Ram front suspension wears out too soon for my liking, weak suspension bushings ). I will buy another F350 without any hesitation. The diesel is the only way to go. Gas engine in a 350 is a major gas guzzler. 6.7 is very good on fuel
Congrats!
I have the same truck albeit a 2005 gas V10 F350. The pop top campers usually are under 2,000 lbs, hard sided usually just under 3,000 lbs. my camper is a Northern Lite 9-6 which is about 2,700 lbs dry. i found i still needed to add air bags, an HD rear sway bar and a product to help with engaging the overload springs. Just FYI. Enjoy!
my favorite dr is back 🎉🎉
Hannah, 3 days ago I took delivery of a GMC 2500 HD Denali Ultimate. It's the 250 version of your 350. We pull a horse trailer, and it's a dream. You're gonna end up loving all the crazy gizmos. Thumbs up! 🙂
Your exactly right on the gizmo and gadgets
My best combo would be the 6,7 Cummins inline6 with that ford transmission. That is a dope truck though, power strokes are cool over everything except cummins.
Nice truck, just remember cold weather and the extra expenses of a diesel. Carrying extra DEF and fuel filters with you and the available of actually getting a diesel engine worked on. The newer ones aren't build to idle for long periods of time, like during the winter. Just a thought.
Another nice feature on Fords is the keyboard unlock system on the drivers door.
My back loves the "Old Man" tailgate step!
Your going to love the diesel and fuel economy
Hannah you are the greatest diesel truck tester
in the world as well as the most Beautiful also
another really great video and Thank You.🌞👍
Nice indépendant review. Thank you.
Fantastic truck like you. Can't wait to see it with some jumbo tires on it. Thanks for showing us that truck. Hope you are doing well in the tropical storm. Stay well and be safe.
Another Great Video 👍
Hannah I’ve driven Ford‘s 250 and 350 for over 30 years, their power stroke are the best in my opinion I’ve got buddies that have the Rams the Commons which is a good engine but I haven’t had any issues of mine off road and on road I just traded in my 350 for the 23 model off-road 250 awesome truck. Good luck. Hope you have fun with it.
My neighbor who built a successful business keeping Ford Diesel trucks on the road thanks you. Yep, that is all he works on and always has vehicles lined up to get fixed after they were Found On Road Dead (FORD). 😝
IN & OUT burgers are tasty ...... I love when you cook your own pizza's ...... Thank you Hannah
Very COOL Truck Young Lady!!!! All the Goodies PERFECT for You!!
The step is for the little ones that pole hols dry wall or plywood in the bed. On that turbo, if you rag on it, make sure you give it time to cool off. Love that drive mode feature, my truck only has regular and tow/haul. Nice Truck, and you're right about those wheels. Also, if you have the back-up camera, make sure you can get a setup that's built into the camper. I have a 2011 I had to make my own. Also when you fill up watch out for high flow nozzels they kick and when the pump shuts off your done. Don't try to squeeze more fuel into the tank you will get wet.
Truck looks great!!!
Best choice you could have ever made! Good work!
Great Review!
Sounds like a good choice for a truck. A friend of mine really likes them . If you get a slide in camper be mine full of getting top heavy.. what ever you do, have fun with it 😊
The frys are fresh and soaked in water so they don't soak up so much oil in the fryer. At in and out.
Looks really good!
Nice ride😃👌🏻thanks for sharing
That is an Awesome truck Hannah🤠🤠🤠😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️
Yes. Love the new truck
Hell yeah baby that’s a beautiful Truck
GREAT GREAT TRUCK , AMAZING TRIPS , THANK YOU DR , 👍🇲🇽
Great video!
It's a excellent system. I like the Truck camper with a trailer lifestyle, very versatile. I like to stay with the older than 2005 models of trucks. Excellent work 💯👍😎
Hannah go check out a Ram 3500.... As much Dodge Trucks represents so much out door activities, hunting, fishing, cattle and horse ranching and overall being in the great outdoors I think they love have you in a loaded up Ram 3500 4x4 long bed. 😉
Awesome truck! Glad it has roof lights. All hd trucks need them to look right. I would need the tailgate step with my bad knees, so it's not a dumb gadget
Yeah, I like some 5 Guys burgers. The truck seemed to be manageable for its size.
I love my 2022 F250 Tremor 6.7 diesel with my DiamondBack Cover and IKamper Rooftop tent.
Those front bed step ups also help if your hauling a bed full limbs or junk to the dump but you need to secure items by kriss-crossing ratchet straps. Getting to the eyelets to secure/release straps can be a pain if you can’t get to the corners
Nice truck, awesome Burger I had to go out and get one...
Another great vid! Have fun!
Doc,
What a truck
Get it, High Output! You deserve it.
100% agree 5-Guys
so great and interesting.thanks.
I have a 2018 f350 diesel and love it , it rides great for a 1 ton truck and it is so quiet inside compared to older diesels. oh and turn the traction control off and that stock motor can light em up
Yes to the truck. Let’s see where the road takes us
Right on !!
Hey Hannah nice to see you, your new Truck 2023 ford f350 turbo Diesel I think looks awesome you should have a lot of fun with it
Wow powerful truck can’t wait to see what u do with it
Not just yeah but *HELL YEAH*
Yes, yes, yes
I haven't read the other comments yet, but you make a great truck salesperson! Nice truck!
way to go yes 5 guys is way better but you have what you have at this time just go with it. the diesel is heavier that makes it ride a little smother is all put the camper in the back, and it will be a dream to drive everywhere. Ford gave you a test truck because they know you will not take it to the limits. Many recalls they know of but should have fixed before they let them go out of the showroom hopefully your truck was built on.
Wendesday and not any other day of three week
Girls with curls! Oh my
thanks for the info
Au contraire, Dr. Hannah, regarding the tailgate step. My F 150 has it and it is awesome! As usual, entertaining and informative video!
You got me, I can't wait to drive it home. Not sure you can tell five Guys better than a in and out not sure thank you. STAY SAFE all
Hey Hannah, great trucks, I have a 2015. Best upgrade you can make is to upgrade you fuel tank. I had a 55gal direct replacement tank put in mine to replace the 25gal tea cup that it came with. I went with a Transfer Flow (Chico, Ca) works great all the gauges and electronics still work and their care and workmanship was great. Best upgrade for the money and doubled my range without changing anything else with the truck. 1st Double Double 😮? You lead such a sheltered life😊
Try adding Rigid fog lights in the front, spots in the rear, and rock lights around the perimeter. It makes camping great for seeing around the vehicle after dark. I also recommend a train horn on a relay matched to one of the upfitter switches so you can use the OEM horn or the "blaster", but that's just me.
What makes the Double Double stand out for me, unlike any other burger is add extra hot peppers & extra onions! Heaven & at a budget price especially if super hungry! 😋 I skip the french fries to save calories, & after eating I’m full anyways!😊
Keep up your great work & presentation’s on life, love of the outdoors & adventure! Be safe!
