Spaghetti al Limone - Classic Lemon Pasta Recipe - The Pasta Queen

- Spaghetti al Limone (Lemon Pasta). The perfect balance of pasta, lemon, garlic and cream, an Italian classic.
Ingredients:
- Heavy Cream
- A Small Lemon
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 1 Garlic Clove
- 200 g Spaghetti (serves 2 people)
- 2-3 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
- Flakey Salt
- Parsley (for garnish)
(For a vegan alternative, skip the heavy cream and butter! It’s a classic and absolutely delicious.)
Recipe:
1. Mince one garlic clove and sizzle it in a pan with extra virgin olive oil.
2. As the garlic is sizzling, boil the pasta (don’t forget to save about 1 cup of pasta water!)
3. Add 4 tbsp of butter.
4. Add the zest of a small lemon. (save some zest for the perfect garnish)
5. Mix in the juice of a small lemon and let it cook for a few seconds.
6. Then mix in the heavy cream and add a pinch of salt.
7. Drain the pasta and mix it into the sauce until your pasta really absorbs all that delicious flavor.
Useful tip:
Sprinkle some finely chopped parsley and lemon zest for garnish to make your dish as gorgeous as you are!

Some people may disagree but the smell of garlic in a home is one of life's pleasures!
I Am alllllergic to GARLIC, so no garlic in my home, especially not raw one because I litterally smell it at two méters and puke... But I live in a small village in southern Spain and when I walk my dogs and I happen to smell cooked garlic (sauce, paella, sea food...) from some granny's open window I am filled with dreamy melancholy. You are right, when cooked it smells so good♥️❤️♥️sort of a balm for the soul❤️

@@VivKittie32 Following her recipe, 3 large garlic cloves was the perfect amount, especially for a particularly juicy lemon 😂. Although I used unsweetened soy milk and vegan butter in place of it's animal product counterparts. Still was *chefs kiss*. Her measurements are spot on.

@@TheMooCowReturns You can do, just don't tell the Italians. Would maybe go for pink grapefruit though for the little push in acidity.
I'm lactose intolerant so I use the olive oil and garlic and lemon and of course it's just gorgeous!
you can also add half cup of unsweetened coconut cream and some garlic salt .
You can use rice cream, it doesn't taste like rice it really seems like normal cream. I know cause I use both, the regular dairy cream and the rice cream

@@MegaHotdiggity I don't really know, when I go grocery shopping I just grab the little cardboard box of liquid cream, and you have the dairy cream (18% or 30% fat) and you have similar boxes that say coconut cream or rice cream. And it's not a particular brand, i take the cheapest. I live in France I don't know if that matters
You can also use cashew cream! Just blend up soaked cashews with a little water or nut milk and a little salt

I made this last night EXACTLY as you described in the video and it was amazing. The tip about cooking the pasta for the final few minutes in the actual sauce was a game changer. The texture was so much nicer and creamier than what I normally end up with.

The water should be salted until it tastes like sea water. It flavors the pasta but very little is retained even for those on a salt reduced diet.

Just made this with tagliatelle and topped it with sliced up sausages I sautéed for some meat and it was fabulous! One of the best pastas I’ve had EVER. My boyfriend who doesn’t normally enjoy creamy dishes loves it too!!! GRAZIE MILLE

I made this with frying a little onion before the garlic and adding some chopped basil and spinach when the pasta goes in the sauce pot. And i made mine with linguine and scampi. The basil really complements the lemon. It was delicious! Ok wait... this just sounds like a completely different recipe 😂

I made this vegan and gluten free, and it was INSANE. 😍 I subbed the cream for soy milk, butter for vegan butter, sea salt instead of flakey, and I used chick pea pasta (I'm gluten intolerant). The measurements were perfect, and everything blended together beautifully. Light, filling, fragrant.

I used the rind of two lemons and double the garlic it was great! The sauce breaks if you keep the heat too high after addition of the pasta. Keep the heat low or off after the pasta is added.
