What you may not know is that since you have a five speed, the clutch runs off the same resvoir and you should keep filling it until the fluid stops going down that means it’s full, also your idle is really high
Did you solve the problem? I have same one now. I didn’t try anything yet Because it happened today for the first time but i would Like to know what i can do.
If you're lucky it is low fluid. But I guarantee 9.9 x out of 10 it is infamous vw electrical problems.. Vw are notorious for bad brake switches caused by shit bad wiring. Where over time the ground wiring will be come so bad it will make the brake light switch go bad and have the brake lights stay on constantly. So you replace the brake light switch not knowing the ground wiring harness is falling apart that replacing the switch did nothing. And when you go to replace the wiring, all the wires just fall apart. Dont ask me how I know all this. My recommendation if you have vw get rid if it fast and get a toyota or honda before you are stranded and out thousands in repairs. An easy way check if it is infamous brakeight switch and ground harness problems, is add you fluid then put car in neutral while running without the parking brake applied check rear lights stay on. Or have someone follow you around the block. If your brake lights stay on constantly your brake light switch and ground harness to the brake light switch are bad. And pray other wiring isnt falling apart too that will just fall apart when you go to work on the wiring costing you thousands or just scrap the car as the wiring is too far gone to be repairable.
