I'm so lazy doing any kind of workout but then I found your short barre videos and I love them! Thank you for bringing back my motivation to workout with your great videos! I really love how you talk through the exercises during the entire time, it makes me feel like being right there with you which gives me additional boost to make it to the end of the video :)
Probably I already said this but I will say it again, this is the best workout of all time. Kills me every time I do it. Btw, I like the music, is not crazy and is energetic. For some people might don’t work but for some people do. You can’t please everybody. ❤️

Thank you for this barre class. I needed to add to my running routine and I have BPPV(vertigo). All of the other classes I have seen use too much downward head movements. I cannot do yoga or pilates without setting off a vertigo attack. Your class is perfect as long as I skip the mat portion.
Hi Brenda, I'm so glad that my workout was helpful and that it doesn't flare up your BPPV. The centre and barre work should mostly be safe for you in my workouts, however, yes, I agree, skip the mat section. I hope the BPPV settles for you soon, Andrea x

Hi Nes...the first moves are considered a warm up, so this is a fully workout from start to finish. If you feel your body needs more of a warm up though, you are most welcome to do additional warming up before you start, Andrea x

wow this was a lot more intense than expected! I should have known but its been a long time since I took ballet or barre! A couple of the on barre stretches are definitely not possible if you just have a chair but otherwise love that you only need a chair to do this

This was one of my first barre classes online, and I wasn't very good at that stage with audio editing, and since then I've also found more suitable royalty free music that I can use on UA-cam. I like the idea of these classes. However, I have a problem keeping my feet in 1st position or with toes facing to the sides. I tried it a while ago & it caused pain. I have weak hips. Is it possible to do this with toes facing forward & still get the benefit?
Hi Tina, Absolutely, you can definitely stay in parallel, or just a very tiny amount of turnout. We all have different levels and abilities of turnout, so definitely work within your own range of motion, where you don't have any pain. I have very open natural turnout, though it's getting a little more restrictive as I get older...so you definitely don't need to copy the same range of motion as me! Andrea x
I’m a former ballet dancer, and Pudendal nerve damage has made me stop. Do you have an alternative workout for people who can not do any form of deep knee bends? Thank you 👍🏻
Hi Ophelie, perhaps try some of my yoga videos, or keep the knee bends and plies much smaller in my barre class videos. You don't have to bend really deep in these movements if you are unable to, Andrea x

It sounds like you may have some underlying knee issues at the moment. Have you seen a manual therapist for an assessment? You may like to try my foam rolling class as that can help if the knee pain is caused by tight quadriceps (thigh muscles). Hi Betty. I don't actually, as I film most of my classes in my studio. A chair would work exactly the same as I'm using the barre though, just resting your hands gently on the top. I'll definitely take that feedback on board though and film some classes using a chair! Andrea x
Hi ILoveMyLife (great profile name btw)...I am wearing grip socks, so they are socks with little rubber sticky bits on the bottom. You can buy them from my website at www.thebarreclinic.com.au, or from most pilates studios. You can also wear ballet slippers, they would be fine too. Andrea x
Hi Athanasia, Barre classes tend to burn between 300-500 calories per hour, so in this 18 minute class, you could expect to burn between 100 and 170 calories, Andrea x

I wish there is no music or at least set to low. Hard hearing the voice over it. I just read all her responses about music. She does not know that this whole video can be made without any music. She kept saying that she cannot find royalty free music🤯😭. How about no music

I agree the music is a little loud, but you'll hear that my voice is easier to hear in my latest videos as my technical editing skills have improved. I do know that I can make the video without music, but I always teach my in-studio classes to music so I aim to replicate this in my online classes also. As an ex-professional dancer, I love moving to the beat of the music, so I'd rather this than no music at all. I can find royalty free music, however music for dancers and fitness is squared off, and broken into 8 counts in 8x4 phrases, so this is where it gets tricky. There is lots of royalty free music out there, but not lots that is suitable for dance/barre workouts, like mine, where I move in time to the music. You'll see I have found some new music for my latest videos which is not quite as techno based, and much more enjoyable to listen to. Give one of those a try, and let me know what you think, Andrea x

It sounds like you may have some underlying knee issues at the moment. Have you seen a manual therapist for an assessment? You may like to try my foam rolling class as that can help if the knee pain is caused by tight quadriceps (thigh muscles). Hi Betty. I don't actually, as I film most of my classes in my studio. A chair would work exactly the same as I'm using the barre though, just resting your hands gently on the top. I'll definitely take that feedback on board though and film some classes using a chair! Andrea x

Hi ILoveMyLife (great profile name btw)...I am wearing grip socks, so they are socks with little rubber sticky bits on the bottom. You can buy them from my website at www.thebarreclinic.com.au, or from most pilates studios. You can also wear ballet slippers, they would be fine too. Andrea x

Hi Athanasia, Barre classes tend to burn between 300-500 calories per hour, so in this 18 minute class, you could expect to burn between 100 and 170 calories, Andrea x

Hi Dhyana, I appreciate your comments, thank you. This was one of my earliest videos, and so my editing skills have improved lots since I started my channel 18 months ago. I agree the music is a little loud, but you'll hear that my voice is easier to hear in my latest videos as my technical editing skills have improved. I do know that I can make the video without music, but I always teach my in-studio classes to music so I aim to replicate this in my online classes also. As an ex-professional dancer, I love moving to the beat of the music, so I'd rather this than no music at all. I can find royalty free music, however music for dancers and fitness is squared off, and broken into 8 counts in 8x4 phrases, so this is where it gets tricky. There is lots of royalty free music out there, but not lots that is suitable for dance/barre workouts, like mine, where I move in time to the music. You'll see I have found some new music for my latest videos which is not quite as techno based, and much more enjoyable to listen to. Give one of those a try, and let me know what you think, Andrea x
