    What about those of us who can't make it to Boston? How many years is it going to take for this technology to be available in the rest of the U.S.?

      Echolight is an Italian company that boasts a significant presence across Europe. However, the adoption and distribution of Echo Light/REMS technology in the United States have encountered some challenges. These primarily revolve around the initial investment required and the complexities of the American medical reimbursement system, particularly the absence of a dedicated CPT code for such scans. As a result, most physicians are offering this as a fee-for-service evaluation.
      While we do not have a direct partnership with EchoLight Corporate, we've been actively collaborating with pioneering doctors like Dr. Bush and Dr. Zambito. These professionals have been instrumental in raising awareness about the benefits of Echo Light/REMS scans. To further our mission, we organize grassroots clinics in major cities across the country. These events are aimed at introducing this cutting-edge technology to the public, serving as a vital community service.
      If you can't make it our Boston clinic, you can add your name to our mailing list at the bottom of this page to be notified of future events! drbrown.cc/2024events

    LIke so many other medical tests (mammograms vs thermography) I'm really glad to see more options available. I'm thin, active and very healthy but my DEXA results are always showing less and less bone mass. Something is not right! Leave it to Europe to find a better option, perhaps their medical system is not corrupt like in the US. (driven by the Pharm industry)

       @DrSusanBrown @leeanneburchell7053 There is now one in Spring Hill, Brisbane. Available for bookings every Tuesday. I'm booked for mine at the end of the month. I had registered for Echolight to email me when they had one in Brisbane. Really looking forward to it as it's 18 months since my Dexa scan.

    I don't like people saying that just because a woman is thin she's going to automatically have osteoporosis but overweight and obese people can get osteoporosis too,
    I can understand being severely unhealthy underweight to the point where you're barely eating food but a woman who is thin and petite who's not overweight not fat but eats a healthy diet why would that automatically cause osteoporosis just because she's thin? I heard someone say that women with flat stomachs are at risk for osteoporosis that's ridiculous!!! It's more about being healthy and getting your nutrition

    • @DrSusanBrown
      @DrSusanBrown  5 місяців тому +1

      Of course! While being thin does not automatically equate to developing osteoporosis, it's interesting to note that in my decades of experience, many women diagnosed with osteoporosis have indeed been on the thinner side. But being thin alone doesn't automatically lead to osteoporosis. There are some reasons why being thinner can be linked to higher risk, like having less body fat which can mean lower estrogen levels-essential for healthy bones. Also, not getting enough crucial nutrients can be a factor regardless of body weight.
      Another key point is exercise, especially strength training. Building muscle helps build bone too! Engaging in regular physical activity that includes weight-bearing and muscle-strengthening exercises can significantly help improve bone density.
      It’s really about the bigger picture, including genetics and how active we are, that plays a big role in bone health. Whether you're thin or not, it’s super important to eat well, stay active, and follow a natural bone health program such as our Better Bones Solution: shop.betterbones.com/pages/courses-winter-sale which offers 6 Steps of diet, exercise, assessing your background, mental health, and more to stay stronger, longer!

      @@DrSusanBrown I definitely agree
      I'm a perfect example I was thin my whole adult life but I was thin the unhealthy way by not eating enough nutrition not getting enough protein doing lots of cardio but not eating enough calories to support the amount of exercise I was doing, I didn't start strength training and eating an actual healthy balanced until I was diagnosed back in 2022 ,,
      Before I was diagnosed I mostly cared about keeping the calories and fat low , but I was mostly getting dietary fat from plant foods missing out on the healthy fats that come from cheese eggs and fish
      I think my body looks much healthier now that I have developed muscle
      I do want to be thin but not unhealthy thin,, only healthy lean thin with muscle , I'm going to have my dexa scan soon now that it's been two years since diagnosed I really hope I see improvements
      Because my diet today is so so much healthier than it's ever been my whole adult life 🙏🏻 I also didn't menstruate for years from age 21 to age 31 because of how lacking in nutrition my diet was at the time
      But no doctors back then told me that this could happen to me if I didn't get my period 😓
