You Are amazing. Beautiful explanation for each exercise. You are absolutely great. Be blessed and stay motivated because you’re doing great things for aging people. I am 75 years young and I am staying healthy because people like you 💪💓❣🙏🤗💝
This is my first time seeing one of your videos, and it came up in the suggestions I suppose because I’m looking for osteoporosis friendly workouts. I just had to tell you that you gave the very best instruction on a wall push up ever. I’ve always wondered if I was standing too close or too far. How easy it was when you said arms length and then half a step….Thank You! I’m definite going to follow you for more osteoporosis workouts!
Looking to incorporate these things without causing spondylolisthesis flare. In addition, meniscus tear, osteoarthritis spine and knee....degenerative issues. At a loss here
Impressed how many new moves you keep creating! I was a little nervous when you called these out as high impact and high intensity as those definitions feel out of my range right now. BUT! Wow, you came up with moves that are absolutely doable. I'm an Adventure member but still love coming here to see what else you've posted and what I can add to my day. You're a gem!
Hi Julia! Yes, I'm so glad you're in the membership and I appreciate the kind words. I've been working on some great exclusive content to add to the workout library of the membership so keep a look out!
Hi. This is my 2nd osteoporosis workout with you. I enjoyed doing your exercises. Thank you for responding on my day comments. I now know how to adjust for my body. Thank you for the link & exercising with you😊
I play basketball: jump, and shoot baskets daily for an hour, also drive to the bucket ... this helped me achieve actual change in one year. .... .7 in the hip and.5 in the spine... I also lift heavy weights with trainer compound movements(low reps), HRT, and on high protein diet. You must exercise daily 2 hours for this... and you make bone health your #1 priority. I am now out of osteoporosis, in osteopenia and heading toward 0. one measurement of hip was positive .1.... I am 62 years old...and I had a THR 10 years ago...
I’ve been following and doing your workout videos for a year, so these moves were familiar, but I love that you broke them down and gave specific reasons on why each are important for those of us with osteoporosis. Thank you for another super helpful video! You’re the best!
I'm the same age and have osteoporosis. I have hip pain if I walk for too long as well. It was diagnosed as bursitis/Greater Troncheratic pain. The exercises I was given to help this condition were to strengthen the butt muscles. Hope it's the same for you and not anything more serious. @user-px3oh7zp3u
Exercise 5: There is a very similar combat drill we do all the time, using opposite sides. EG: Step right and punch left/ Step left and punch right. Simulates slipping away from the attack and simultaneously executing a counter-attack. Just FYI. ;)
Great video. I have osteopenia and was recently told by my doctor that it close to be considered osteoporosis. I am definitely going to start your exercises in hopes to keep the osteoporosis at bay. Thank you.
Thanks for this Alyssa. I'm 61 and was first diagnosed with osteoporosis after a spinal fracture when I was only 50. In just the last few months, I have been doing step aerobics, but nothing as specific as this. I have a bone density scan next month. Wish me luck.
I was concerned when you said high intensity and high impact but thank goodness I didn't continue searching. I watched your video. and your 5 exercises were all doable! You are awesome. Thank you.
Great exercises! I really appreciate the selection of options. I have RA and osteo, along with having had some joint replacements. I can't do the high impact/intensity anymore that I was doing in my younger years. I believe I can do most, if not all, the different exercises shared in your video. Thank you!!
Thank you Alyssa. I will start incorporating the stomping into my day. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis last January. I started exercising again. Thank you for taking the time to do these videos.
Really like your videos! I've done 6 weeks of PT for a total knee replacement. Feeling great! They gave me exercises to do at home. Plan on doing more. And yours will be helpful, thanks!!
Newly diagnosed with osteoporosis! These moves are doable and attainable!! I’m having another bone scan soon! I’m anxious to see after adding these moves to my light jogging helps!!
Same here! Just diagnosed with osteoporosis in hips and ostepenia in spine. I am NOT taking Fosamax, it is a dangerous and destructive drug. Glad I found this video! Good luck to you.
Thank you so much for this excellent summary of very simple things I can sprinkle throughout my day in addition to my regular strength training heavy with dumbbells. I really appreciate this! And I can do them even with a very mangled arthritic knee caused by car accident injuries. I am thrilled beyond measure about that!
Thanks for more osteoporosis content. The explanations are really helpful and the exercises accessible. Love the content and especially the 20-30 minute range works well for me. Ways to add weights if appropriate are also appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you. I have been diagnosed with osteopina and my dr has recommended medication. I have been taking the recommended supplements and been on my own in figuring out the exercises. This will be a great help. I used to hike a lot and backpack some, although at 69 I am not so active. Seems the yoga and walking the dog arent really helping the bone density. I am excited about doing this routine. Thanks again
I also was diagnosed with osteopenia & they wanted to put me on medicine as well. And I declined it I do a lot of walking to keep my legs strong. Then I started to do exercises.
I've been looking for a PT coach to help me on my difficult journey. FINALLY I have a PCP who recommended your channel, so happy. I just went off of the meds for Osteoporosis and I want to tackle this head on through exercise and diet.
I teach active agers Pilates and mix in a variety of osteoporosis safe exercises. Thank you for posting so many helpful exercises! I incorporate many of them in my classes. I appreciate how inspiring and specific you are in your instruction.
Fabulous new things to add to my exercises! Thank you! I was a bit nervous with the high impact high intensity verbiage, but had military like drills in my imagination 😂😂. Your versions are totally doable on and off all day… like waiting for water to boil… shuffle in the kitchen or drop the heels etc… love it.
I have just been diagnosed with osteoporosis after a spinal compression fracture and wonder how many of you are taking medication like Bisphosphonates. Not sure what to do. Great exercises and will do them
I certainly appreciate your wonderful heart that wants to help others. You are articulate & well informed & as well as a gifted teacher…presenting the exercises with many important tips to be successful without hurting ourselves. Thank you kindly Dr. Alyssa. I have slight osteopenia which has been stable for years & I certainly don’t want it to progress. These exercises are very doable. 😊
These are great excercises to include in the workout. The only one that caused excruciating pain was that seated spot stomp. Made my knees hurt A Lot. The others were great. Thank you!
I've been doing workouts for years, but still got osteoporosis possibly connected with long term use of PPIs. I realise I wasn't doing a lot of impact so I have added your 5 great exercises into my routine. I love them! Thank you so much for these well thought out exercises. ❤

Thank you for your video. After being away from exercising due to a tendon rupture which I don’t know if my ankle and arch will truly heal I will try your video. This last week I found out I have osteoporosis, so I have to really be cautious I start this new journey with destroying myself. TY again !

I also have osteoporosis and I had been considering a trampoline until I heard in another video that it is not effective for building bone. The stomping is what helps. Thought I should share…
Hi Alyssa, thank you for these exercises to target bone loss. Unfortunately I’m on an estrogen blocker for five years post surgery/chemo and radio for breast cancer. I just found you and completed two of your videos. Thank you for posting exercises that we can do from our homes. I had a Dexa 1.5 years ago at 58 and was told I have osteoporosis throughout my body. I’ve tried multiple drugs. They wanted to do the yearly injections, but I don’t want injections. I started Ibandronate again. I’m hoping with my new diet and exercise program, I can stop the drugs.
Heel drops, stomp squats, side shuffle, wall push ups, side stomps + overhead press (1 arm)

If your joints are prepared for it, jumping can be effective but without appropriate strength and power, it could cause some pain
1.Heel drops
2.Stomp squats 10-30 per day, 2-3 times per week
3.Side shuffle with hop. 2-3 steps each way 30-90 seconds.

5.side stop, with overhead press. Body weight, can add weights if able.8-12 per side
Repeat all 2-3 times per week

You're welcome! Happy New year to you too.
I love your channel...will be trying this soon
Hope you enjoy!
You're welcome for the videos and glad you like the channel.
