I studied the analysis of this oratorio back in 1994 for my Master’s thesis at Naruto University of Education, Japan. Such a great composition by a great composer and yet performed by a great orchestra under a great conductor and all great soli, choir and orchestra. Thank you for the posting, I love it indeed ...

FYI There does exist a remarkable Grand Format Oratorio music box by Nicole Freres that is known as ‘The Creation’ box for its programming is a carefully arranged medley of this piece crammed in to an eighteen minute performance. It’s currently in a Floridian collection.

@@TheVaughan5 well, my comment was ironic (since it is impossible to realise) but I really cannot stand certain musical compositions being performed on modern instruments. Say, Bach's "Well Tempered Clavier", Opera continuo on modern piano in (stead of a time-accurate Cembalo), are just examples on the top of my mind.
The instruments have totally different sound, ranges and behaviors, and it is just that the composers heard in their heads, which is what I enjoy experiencing. You can perform The Toccata and Fugue on a piano, but it belongs to the Organ ☝🏼

A premiere means a first performance, in the case of Haydn’s The Creation, its public premiere was on 19 March 1799, though there had been some earlier private performances.

No problem, but you original comment sent me looking through sources to find if The Creation had been performed in 1815 which was not improbable as it was being widely performed.
The Beethoven works make far more sense of course, even if Beethoven’s switch of sides from Napoleon to Wellington is not often discussed as much a it might be; it is also a debate that I believe in some small part explains the difficult relationship between Haydn (loyalty to Emperor, and latterly to England 1791-95) and Beethoven (belief in the initial ideals of the French Revolution until Napoleon’s faux pas).
It is an area I have never seen discussed in detail, but certainly in the 1790’s, Haydn and Beethoven were on opposite sides of *the* political question of the age, and whilst Haydn’s judgement was reinforced by Nelson and the British entourage visiting him in 1800 at Eisenstadt (the ‘Nelson Mass’ story), Beethoven was still at the point of thinking about dedicating his later ‘Eroica’ symphony (1803) to Napoleon (deleted 1804).
Is there any wonder their relationship was so difficult ?

A number of ancient sources record similar accounts, that are in some cases almost word for word the same. There are a number of them from ancient China that would be worth looking into. The word ‘genial’ is a notorious false friend between English and the Romance languages; in English it means friendly, cheerful, easy-going and affable, whilst in Italian I would use geniale in the sense of a brilliant, ingenious, and intelligent and so forth, along with genio* = genius.
(I presume French and Spanish would be something similar to Italian).
Whilst your comment is in English, I do not think you use ‘genial’ in the English sense of the word.
I mention the point simply because it is a confusion I have come across on a number of occasions on UA-cam, and in terms of your comment, it is an adjective that does not express your meaning at all, but something completely different.
      Regarding later great oratorios:
      Haydn: The Seasons ?
      Mendelssohn: Elijah ?
      Elgar: Dream of Gerontius ?
(Arguably some others as well such as Berlioz: L’enfance du Christ).
In terms of popularity measured by performances worldwide, Messiah and The Creation are clearly ahead of the pack.
      * And completely separately, c’è un genio nella bottiglia.

@@elaineblackhurst1509 Sorry but your comment is a model of how pedantry spoils widsdom. It is true that I have used "genial" in his spanish meaning (although the word "genial" has exactly the same meanings in englisch and spanish, the differences are mostly in its use). However, Merriam-Webster is by my side: the third entrance of "genial" in that dictionary is exactly the meaning I have used.
That said, Die Schöpfung is the LAST GENIAL oratory in the history of music. Later examples are residual and do not represen a tradition. They are merely concert choral works or concert cantatas. Besides, exceptuating Gerontius' Dream, the rest you mention are not "genial" in any sense. Oh, Mendelssohn, were you ever able to write anything that could maintain the listener's attention beyond the intial 10 beats or so???

I also want to ask. Could the channel add descriptions/titles to choir/solists singing in german language ?
I would be happy to see it. Thank you!

It's very subjective but this is the greatest work ever written in my opinion....surpasses even Mozart requiem, Messiah and St Matthew passion...

This is such a superb performace. Chorus, orchestral playing both wonderful; baritone (in particular) and tenor sing beautifully.
But, it is sad that the soprano resorts to crooning as a substitute for legato singing. Her singing exhibits that strange habit, employed by so many contemporary singers, of approching just below the pitch, then slurring up to the note. That's not an example of bel canto, which must be employed in this music.
