One thing that really pissed me off among Asian communities were that there weren’t many who were willing to step out of their comfort zone. If you like someone go for it and don’t use I’m Asian I don’t have a chance attitude. Young fellas have it better these days but there are still many who live in this box. As for myself I’m 5’6 not exactly handsome nor rich. Only dated outside of my race (although I do love my fellow Asians) & currently married to a European woman.

The look on their faces when I tell them that Dad is the Filipino, brought to Australia on a Skilled Migrant Worker Visa in the early-mid 70's, because the Aussie blokes didn't want to do the hard jobs. He was a Mechanical Engineer in the Philippines, and could still do the job on Sydney's train network. My Aussie birth mother abandoned my sister and I, to run away with her lover, when we were still very young. My sister was a few months old and I was nearly 2 years old. Years later, my sister and I grew to young adults contributing to the Aussie economy as proud Filos, not Aussie 😂😂 Bless 😂😂

Holy crap I saw an Asian guy dating a black girlfriend at a theme park this winter while waiting in line. It's always been socially acceptable for non-AF to date AM. The issue isn't whether they're open to it or not; the issue is that AM generally don't make sexual advances to the same proportion as men of other races. You have to understand that the burden of approach and sexual escalation lies squarely on men. Also remember that in the days prior to 2000, most asian men were physically smaller in size due to diet. Once my friends and i started eating what the western world eat, our physique are the same. Im 5'8 and 180lbs bulk built. The girls look at large physique as masculine, superior, strong and naturally thats what women want. I attract white and black women the most in my 20's but now in my 30's i attract lots of asians but thats my area. Toronto and vancouver it was easily for me as an asian to attract asian but lets say florida or texas. It was a different story. Still possible but depends on how you dress, physique and talk.

It's now cool to like Asian culture in a way it never was before. Like you said: kpop, anime, manga, kdramas, Asian hypebeast fashion, food trends, sushi, hotpot, kbbq, bubble tea, martial arts, sports (we have the best player in baseball). All that has made Asian men more accepted by the dominant culture that wants to take part in the cool and interesting things this pan-Asian culture has to offer.

I still find most of my Asian friends not particularly open to the idea of dating non-Asians. My girlfriend is Latina/Black and we're going strong. I just hope to see more of our Asian brothers open to the idea of dating outside their race. How sick of a society do you have to be to ask the question "is dating asian men finally normal"? Since when was it abnormal to date men of a certain race? Last time I checked, all races belong to one species and can interbreed.
It's always been socially acceptable for non-AF to date AM. The issue isn't whether they're open to it or not; the issue is that AM generally don't make sexual advances to the same proportion as men of other races. You have to understand that the burden of approach and sexual escalation lies squarely on men. Lots of social media helped but also the communities where the individual grew up. I grew up in the 90's and the perception of asians all knowing kung fu was very common. Also remember that in the days prior to 2000, most asian men were physically smaller in size due to diet. Once my friends and i started eating what the western world eat, our physique are the same. Im 5'8 and 180lbs bulk built. The girls look at large physique as masculine, superior, strong and naturally thats what women want. I attract white and black women the most in my 20's but now in my 30's i attract lots of asians but thats my area. Toronto and vancouver it was easily for me as an asian to attract asian but lets say florida or texas. It was a different story. Still possible but depends on how you dress, physique and talk.

Tell you what, I'm 40 and have grown up in Belgium, was never exactly in the front row in the dateable pool in all my high school years, but started to get coveted in my late college years (but also, I was in an art uni, so people were more openminded than regular people).

For me in California it was completely different, and that was more than 20 years ago when I was dating. Asian women wouldn’t give me the time of day but all other races of women didn’t care. (I was tall so anything else didn’t matter.)
I don't think this is the case. I think that due to your content, the algorithm just recommends you more examples of what you want to see, and now you think Asian men are normal. But I have not found that to be the case at all.

The world is blending in just about every cultural and genetic variety more than ever now - due to population rise and societal evolution. I personally got bored of white girls when I was a teenager (40 years ago) - so I can never really understand why some folks think that dating or marrying white women is anything that stands out. Perhaps it is because my preferred contrasted taste is a darker complexion. Anyone of each gender can be appealing, loving and fun, and surely this is all that matters.
Ask women who the current hottest male actor is and a certain number are likely to say Ji Chang-wook, Kim Young-kwang or Song Kang. They might even find themselves hard-pressed to name a white Hollywood actor under the age of 40 to put on the list.

I grew up as an Asian immigrant in the 20th century and everywhere I lived until I moved to California was less than 1% Asian so I never dated an Asian woman as there were so few of them where I lived.

This is me, and I would agree with this very much.
I get that it's not as normal and I may be an outlier but I've actually never dated an Asian girl not necessarily by choice but the environment I was in. Been all white girls. Married to a Caucasian women (blonde hair blue eyes) and my kids are wasian.
