I ordered this last week as soon as I saw it in the store! I just got the XFE80 yesterday. I have the iBrid Nano already . I decided to just go all cordless. Can’t wait to try out both Flexes!
Now that you've got CSL + EVO on my cars, I think I'll need these proper diameters to get it off, and reinstall it in a year better than before. Awesome.
Bought this on release and love it. For me the perfect setup is the duetto with 5”, flex cordless for 3” and ibrid for 1/2”. I don’t find the need to use the bigger long throw 6” machines, haven’t owned a modern car with enough flat surface area to require it. Plus I picked up your trick in putting the 6” bp on the duetto for finishing if needed
Hey Matt , Nice job on the review, I think having the Flex XFE15 the PXE80 and the Rupes Nano is the ultimate package for getting the job done , the Flex 1” works great but for those real tight locations a nano is needed , this is my exact arsenal, I got rid of all the cords and never looked back pure freedom 👍
I love my PXE80, I sold my iBrid Longneck, after polishing a few cars. There are a lot of producers, providing the missing 2 inch option and the Extension, along with two 12mm DA adapters, that the user doesn't have to do the screw on, screw off thing with the diffrent backingplate sizes all the time switching to the diffrent sizes. Hope you include that too in your package Matt 😉 would have saved me a lot of time figuring that out!
I am not at the point where I could justify the expense of the Rupes. I decided to give the Adam's micro polisher a shot and I'm sure you can guess how that went. They should call it the stall master. It will stall on any speed, with any type of pad and with any amount of pressure with the 3mm attachment. I returned it. I think this is what I'm going to replace it with, they look to be about the same size. Thanks for the review and saying it doesn't stall.
The plate changing base is also magnetic most folks don’t know that. I have the little polisher and I enjoy it a lot but it will stall like most polishers but for what it is the three 3” it’s good. Do ppl who already have a 3” solution buy this ? Probably not. The connivence of it being cordless is cool but if you have a 3” this isn’t necessary. Also the lower throw stalls a lot the 3mm will stall. So it’s better with the 12mm with the 3” backing plate. And in comparison the Adams which is just like the Rupes does the 1” , 2” better ( I know this doesn’t have a 2” but you can buy the backing plate and cut it down. ) so Rupes for 1”, 2” and the Flex for 3”. And you’re straight.
My arsenal is: 1. Lhr21 mk3 2. Lhr15 mk3 3. Lhr12 Duetto 3. Lhr75 mini 4. ibrid nano 5. Lh19E rotary I did a have the mille but didnt like it and sold it.
Matt, is this still a winner for a small cordless polisher? Or has anyone else developed something to at least look at and consider as well? Thank You!
Interesting to see how the specs differ from USA to UK 10.8v vs 12v We get a great plastic carry case...you don't Uk gets options for a kit with pads and polishes But I love the pxe 80.... Its going to be in my kit at some point in the near future
What advice would you give if I need to choose between the Rupes Ibrid Nano and the Flex PXE 80 ? Really can't choose and don't have the ability to try them out.
Im in the market for a mini polisher as well. From the research/reviews, the Rupes nano is crap. It stalls while barely applying pressure. Definitely not worth the cost.
@@Vectorp47 I’m Not comparing between those 2 the rupes mini is the 3” which I want to know if it’ll beat the pxe80 after doing research the mini has way more power so I went throug that option
@@Vectorp47 that's not true at all, the Nano WILL stall with the 3mm orbit attachment. That's for sanding. I'll be surprised if you can stall a 1 inch in rotary or the 2 inch in DA config...like really shocked
Great review of the PXE 80, best on the web! However I disagree with the packaging. I think it depends on what kit you get. Mine had the same stuff as your kit but it came in a sweet stackable L-BOXX storage case system (like the Milwaukee packout system): www.flex-tools.com/en/products/pxe-80-108-ec25-set-2/ but I guess this is for the European market only then? However, it was excellently packed and I keep it in the case it came in, But the bag is sweet as well I have to say. On the 2" and 1" part, where do you polish with the nano where the PXE 80 doesn't fit??? sure its bigger but you can polish everywhere the Nano can, the difference is, the PXE 80 actually cuts and polishes and the Nano stalls and has no cut. Regarding the extensions, I'm these are what you're looking for: www.flex-tools.com/en/products/exs-m14-set-2-1/ they're from flex and even fit on some rupes models :D But again, great video.
Im in Australia and also got the hard box but it seems the American market got a 12V machine where the European market got a 10.8V machine I do find this a little strange.
Great Video mate! Do you know why the American machines 12V are different voltage to the European machines 10.8V i do find this a little strange myself but I was surprised to find out that the PXE80 was made in China but like you said it's still a great quality machine. Perhaps to keep costs down and make the tool accessible for more people unlike the Nano which is very expensive.
If you are used to Milwaukee stuff every mid quality tool feels good. Use a FESTOOL polisher and you will feel German quality and engineering. Sorry for being that frank.
Bryan Ashcraft is the Rupes mini a cordless tool as well? Looking for a really good, but cordless, small foot print polisher for glass and tighter area polishing. What would you recommend I look at and consider? Thx
@@tundrawhisperer4821 No, Rupes doesn't have a cordless 3" polisher. The flex PXE 80 would be the best bang for the buck if your looking for a cordless 3''. Again i love my mini myself.
Bryan Ashcraft thank you for the reply. Do you think they will develop one soon, just to compete in the cordless market? How do you feel about the larger 15 & 21 mm throw cordless polishers out there? Thx again
I'll make a video soon. Ultimately it just feels better and offers a little better ergonomics. The RUPES backing plate is much better, but I like the XFE7 a little more when using it.
Generally I'll just use Jescar Correction Compound on a Meguiar's MF cutting pad for clean up, but the really polish glass you'd want CarPro CeriGlass with a Rayon Pad.
Ok dumb question for anyone here.. I’m looking at this to do car and bike.. ..is it too small for car panels , I’m only a hobbyist who likes to keep his stuff looking good .. so only for personal use .. any opinions I would appreciate , thanks
One of my favorite new tools in the shop. Perfect tool for a quick spot check or any kind of open 1" use.

Matt, any plans to review the Milwaukee M18 FUEL 7” Variable Speed Polisher? Thinking about purchasing it.

Nano by itself the real questions is to choose between PXE and mini
They sell 6inch extentions for this to be smaller than a nano
I feel the real questions is if you go for this or the rupes mini , between the XFE and the mark 3 definitely rupes wins there

Nice build but for me the lack of a trigger makes it obsolete
Matt, Flex mentioned, on their video of this polisher, that the slide trigger can also be used as a variable speed trigger for spot corrections. Thx
Summary:
Hierarchy
1. Lhr15 mark iii
2. XFE 7
3. Rupes Nano
4. Flex PXE 80
Is this in the same class as the Nano, meaning it’s direct composition is the Nano or are there others on the market to compare it too? Thx Matt
The Nano and this are pretty much it. I think both serve a purpose.
Would you say the PXE 80 replaces the need for the LHR75e mini?
I can...but I think it still make sense to have both if you can swing it. I actually like the XFE7 Flex more the and LHR75E.
when is the video coming for the electric version of flex 3" da matt
I'm still waiting on them to arrive.

I think the fit and finish and ergonomics of a Milwaukee tool is better than the Flex(Chervon) product.
Festool polisher Shinex is made by Flex anyway in Germany
