I'm in Italy and started using this tool two weeks ago. I've been polishing 7 days a week 12hrs a day with it and it's a tough little beast. We have 5 machines in the workshop constantly on the go. I will get one for my own personal use.
I’ve loved this machine since day 1. I had an ibrid nano and replaced it with the flex and so glad. I actually tested all the different throws with different backing plates as soon as I got it so I learned quick what the best combinations are. Another good tip is to buy a 2” backing plate for this tool for added flexibility. I end up using 2” pads more than anything else.
I’m thinking about selling my Nano and my Mini to get one Of this Flex. I was waiting for the new Rupes ibrid lhr75 but it’s too expensive, the std costs around $500 on eBay. Thank you for your videos.

@@HawkProDetailing that’s a good question an very hard to answer lol... I am working on a job right now and have my ibrid with a two pad and the flex with a 1 in pad. So I switch back and forth. If I had to pick one I would go with the ibrid simply because it has a 2in backing plate and some other brushes you can put on it to do interiors as well. Only just got mine, tried it once on a curved panel with the 3mm throw and it didn't seem powerful enough, sounds like I chose the wrong one and I should use the 12mm or the rotary
Just recently used mine for the first time this weekend and it blows my mind with the lightness, smoothness while running, and the versatility due to being so small. Wish I bought this a year ago. Made my Adam's polisher look like junk.
@@HawkProDetailing I was just very surprised and it far exceeded my expectations. I have a rupes lhr15 and I didn't think it would live up to the quality of that but it certainly did. The tool is cool because of how light it is, and no cord was a game changer.

My issue with this tool is REACH. The long neck Rupes Nano lets you reach into tight areas (behind mirrors for instance). With the Fkex, isn't the body of the tool still in the way?
The body kind of is in the way, but not completely...did you see that video shot in the beginning of my intro? IF YOU CAN KEEP A SECRET....a little birdie told me flex is soon coming out with accessories, specifically for this tool, and I'll bet you they address the issue with some kind of extension.......
@@HawkProDetailing I figured they would but I think the issue is the direction of the extension. Not a Rupes fanboy by any means, but the advantage of the long neck Nano is the length of the neck, with it's low profile. You can put an extension outward from the head of many different tools, but it won't help you get behind certain tight spaces. Not to say that this tool is useless, I still might want one. But I don't think it can reach the same nooks and crannys as a Nano.
@@HawkProDetailing I have used it on three cars, so far. Great on lower rocker panels, B-Pillars, and did the entire roof on a giant Ford E-350 Super Duty van. Going after deep defects is one part of the battle. But like golf, it's drive for show... put for dough. Looks like a great tool, but I'm just too spoiled with the power of pneumatic mini polishers. Tried a Nano and it felt like a toy. If you're mobile and polishing alot, and/or don't have the compressor to power air tools, I could see this being amazing though.
@@HawkProDetailing it's an 80 gallon Northstar. My buddy has an auto body shop, and he upgraded to the crazy Kaeser on demand style, so I bought one of the two he had. But yeah, cordless is awesome. @@HawkProDetailing lmao not yet🤪
I struggle with the stall on the Rupes 🤦🏻♂️
Watching from Ontario Canada. I have an ibrid which I like for somethings. But feel this has more use for more open areas. And seems stronger if that’s the right word. I have yet to try one. But would like to, I am doing more older motorcycles now. So the smaller polisher is necessary.
Exactly what I was thinking...tool seems nice, but in tight areas the head/body of the tool is still going to be in the way.
from montreal canada
Why such a big difference of speed/torque between speed 3 and 4?
Love flex cordless polisher they are a definite game changer
Andy Cool is a game changer!!! wait til I get some of your stuff on the channel it will blow people's minds lol

Looks like a great tool, but I'm just too spoiled with the power of pneumatic mini polishers. Tried a Nano and it felt like a toy. If you're mobile and polishing alot, and/or don't have the compressor to power air tools, I could see this being amazing though.
What is your compressor? We really wanna upgrade but just not quite there financially for a big boy. Cordless is awesome though
@@HawkProDetailing it's an 80 gallon Northstar. My buddy has an auto body shop, and he upgraded to the crazy Kaeser on demand style, so I bought one of the two he had.
But yeah, cordless is awesome. You don't need a ton of compressor for doing spot work with mini polishers. What size of shop compressor are you looking at getting eventually?
@@jdisdetermined we really want a kaeser:)
I have it and like it. Anything under speed 4 in DA mode is relatively worthless, IMO.
Right. If I'm going after heavy defects with 3 inch microfiber I still prefer the rupes 75e. But man do I hate cords lol
@@HawkProDetailing I hear you about cords!
do you have that flex rep contact info?
His name is Chris Metcalf, i'll bet you could friend him/message him on FB
@@HawkProDetailing thanks!
Watching from UK
Cheers!
"i used a 1" pad on a rotary and all i got was holograms" what did you expect????? ahahahahah
Watching from Greece. Prodetailers here, use the most rupes polishers
rupes is all I've ever used, but I've bought the flex rotary (I like it but don't use much) and now this little polisher
i wish i looked at this machine with out jumping in with rupes nano ibrid now 🤦🏻♂️
Saludos desde City of México
I love it..way better than ibrid

Batoca S4 for half the cost
never tried it
Tried the Batoca S4, and it stalled out with every pad and combination. Sent it back the next day.

Nice!!
Did you see my new video on the flex shaft extension tool?
@@HawkProDetailing no that’s interesting

I had to watch both videos man thanks for the content. Once I have the money I definitely have to buy one of those flex extensions they are awesome!!!! I’m work construction but my passion is in detailing so I have a lot of polishers and other equipment just trying to figure out pricing and how to get the clients I’m not big fam of social media but it seems like I don’t have a choice on that!
Bought the whole set over a year ago and still not used 😅
Why not lol
@@HawkProDetailing didn't do much where it was needed. I will finally use it soon as I'm spraying a new candy paint job, 70's lowrider style meets current era style, on my motorcycle
Spread the compound with a butter knife ? Wtf. .... what a total give away that they don’t know shit about detailing. Anyway, a true pro doesn’t need any of these gimmicky features. That’s why rupes is the best. Spread the product with your hand / pad , speed 1 , up down left right , wrap the cord behind your head and kick it up a notch. Time is money.
yep , from turkey :D
I´m from Germany and I do not use the Flex, or the Rupes for that matter....tooooo overpriced...the both of them
What you use?
Yeah, what do you use?
