He is a great player I think we should just enjoy some great batsmen of the modern generation including Kane Williamson and David Warner . Doesn’t really matter whether they are the best of all time
You're reaching with the goat thing, dude ain no where close to Lara Sachin pointing. and those are the one's right before him not evening gonna mention the ones that proceeded them.
root outclasses ponting imo - Root has a better record in Aus + India, Ponting is worse in Eng + India this is test cricket only plus ponting batted in an era of flatter pitches and frequent 400-500+ scores - Ponting had 5 other high class batsman around him Joe root had a declining Cook, Stokes, and a lot of crap around him in the lineup
He is great. But he IS NOT the greatest of all time. Not by a long shot!
He knew what he was doing. Greatest of England, not all time wolrd!! Just only in tests, though.
tests matter more dude
@anuragverma7699 Yeah in your dreams
classic poms
Definitely the greatest red ball player of this generation
steve smith is by far the greatest test batsman of this generation.average of 57 is outrageous even after a rough couple of years

Lara, Viv, Bradman off the top of my head are better than Root.
