GOAT is a label bandied around too easily. Root is a brilliant batsman, no question about that, but the reason he's Englands highest run scorer is because he has played 147 test matches-if some of the earlier players in the list had played the same number then they would have been as prolific as Joe. It was the same with Anderson as well-fantastic bowler but can't be judged as the best of all time purely because of the number of wickets taken. All sorts of things need also to be taken into consideration-average per innings/wicket, ability to adapt to different conditions, quality of opposition in the relevant eras [West Indies 2024 don't compare to their teams of the 1960's,1970's and 1980's for example].

@@BeyondOrdinary Except KP was a miles better batsman than both Bairstow and Stokes. I love Bairstow for his ODI opening (white ball game), but in Test matches his fire has been extremely rare. Stokes has always been solid but both him and Bairstow have had the privilege of always having Root alongside them to allow them to bat aggressively. KP was the man that had the responsibility of being the main run-getter in his team, wanted to set the tone and put pressure on the bowlers, and still delivered for most of his career. @tpc1416 yeah the way KP batted was ahead of his time. He was so dominant when he was on top form and would just take apart the best bowlers in the world. Root always tended to play less risky shots but you could argue that's why he averages a fair bit more than KP
Nope Root is miles ahead of KP
@@BeyondOrdinary Except KP was a miles better batsman than both Bairstow and Stokes. I love Bairstow for his ODI opening (white ball game), but in Test matches his fire has been extremely rare. Stokes has always been solid but both him and Bairstow have had the privilege of always having Root alongside them to allow them to bat aggressively. KP was the man that had the responsibility of being the main run-getter in his team, wanted to set the tone and put pressure on the bowlers, and still delivered for most of his career. His wicket was just as prized, if not more than Root’s during his prime years.
Every screenshot has EMPTY SEATS - orange and white, in the background! I thought cricket was popular in Pakistan…?! Nobody is there watching
Nobody has time to watch test matches in this blazing heat.... If it was a t20 game... The stands would have been full and ppl would be overpaying for the ticket
This is not cricket - it's punishment!
mighty🇦🇺 Australia beat England 2024 ODI in England. English cricket team losses home series against mighty🇦🇺 Aussie
His average in India and Australia is still terrible. And they are the two best test teams of his era.
Kohl’s record in england is atrocious it happens. Warne in India
Average of 45 is bad?
His average in India is unreal? Australia fair enough but India? It's like 56 or 57 isnt it?
Just appreciate greatness , it’s like England are not allowed to have greats , Indian fans still hating on Anderson and root
Clown. Averages 45 in India with 3 hundreds and 6 50s. Hardly shocking😂. Australia is his only blemish at 35 with no test centuries. 2 of those tours he was clearly hampered by captaincy.
