He really is a great guy it seems. We all have our flaws (which is why Jesus had to die for us to have hope of eternal life, and I’m so grateful that He loves us enough to do that even though He didn’t have to) but yeah it’s definitely refreshing to have clean videos to watch. And obviously the fishing part helps too lol
May not have caught any giants but man it’s hard to beat this style of fishing! Nice job John!
Love my MULE baits. I fish bass from my kayak with ultralight tackle. A 16” largemouth feels like a 22” largemouth when using an ultralight rod 👍

My Brother in law turned me on too you a few weeks ago.....let me tell you that I have been glued to you ever since ...love watching you fish...it's a joy and fun to be out in the river bank fishing....I want to one day get me a kayak and fish....it's hard from bank but fun as well...but much more enjoyable fishing other than from the bank....thank you for the inspiration....

That would be alot of fun on an ultralight or light action. Even the smaller smallies put up a good fight. I need to order some of the mule fishing stuff for this type of fishing. It gets old having to pull the traditional plastics back up on the hook. 👊👍

Right here are the world's two most knowledgeable creek fisherman they are. You will learn so much from both of them I found the outdoorsman channel first and I'm pretty sure I heard him talking about creek fishing adventures and started following John and loved them both every since. Thanks to both of you guys for all that you'll go through and time spent out in the great outdoors doing what you'll love. I wish I could get my kiddos and me some of them mule jigs and baits really would love to try some out one day. I’ve been pounding that river this summer it’s a hidden gem there are some MUCH bigger smallies in there I’ve caught a few awesome trip man great to have you in the mitten!!
The muskegon river is good for smallmouth 🤫
good tackle setup - you should do your own brand for lures - sell rubber worms and 3 sizes of hellgrammite and a craw - with special hellgramitte dust added - the tackle looks good but i would go with oversized guides to cast further - when you get back to big bass waters try the big rubber worms - they do work but let them run a little longer - also try bluegills on a bobber or free lined - do same in saltwater - you can use ultralight in sw - yes you may get spoolled once in a while but that is part of the fun - if you look at ifga tackle records you will see people have caught some huge fish on light line - you might get sig more yards on spool with lighter line
the sluggo was a sign - copy the mann's jellyworm but make it organic gelatin/collagen out of fish bonz and latex/non toxic glue #bluegill flavor #crawdad flavor #gizzard shad #salted hashes

I believe they stocked Grayling in the Ausable river . They were native but fished out . The state is bring them back . I hope you get to try some salmon fishing on the big lake .

You two fellows had a great day of fishing. If you ever have any old lures you would like to share I would sure take them. I live on disability and can't afford to buy any.
After seeing that old worm, I thought @RetroBassin had been fishing in that area.
You said little small mouth that would be cool in a fish tank... HAHA trust me no way. I have a 100 gallon tank i call my creek tank. Its all from my local creek i fish, Kayak, wade. I have crayfish, Red fin minnows, creek chubs, darters, Green sunfish, and even a banded sculpin. Or should i say HAD.... caught a small Rock Bass and when i say small 3" maybe 4. Put it in my tank and in two days Green sunfish, crayfish , Green sunfish and thats it... And i was feeding baby bait fish 1" 6 to 8 in the tank and still it cleaned the tank out. If they could cross a rock bass with a Small mouth that would be the Great white of fresh water...
And, I've heard you mention red breast bite, coosa bass hit, are you that familiar with how each behaves, that's so incredible ...

I've never seen so many small smallmouths without a few large ones mixed in. That's why I watch NDYAK ANGLER alot. He targets large 18 to 21 inch smallies.smallest. But it's all good. I just grew up catching the big ones! Ha

Hey, John! Really enjoying the Michigan videos. I’ve never heard you mention it but don’t you have to buy temporary nonresident fishing license for all those states you fish? That can’t be cheap!
He has touched on the issue of buying fishing licenses.
In the end, it's a business expense for tax purposes.
You can get daily fishing licenses for each state you visit. You don't have to buy an annual license every state you visit lol

Imagine that, tiny lure catch tiny fish. Casting 30' catches the fish within 30' of you. Any of the smart ones hear that accent coming and gtfo.
