I was excited when I heard the rules. I literally thought it was ONE shot. One click of the shutter, whatever happens, happens. That's a real challenge.
@@thatcherfreeman if that's the case then I totally agree! Even with those fingers that are cut up top. The lighting is just soooo gooood man...done by Pye! I mean he's 'THE light guy'! And to see the pro going back to basics with natural light and still rocks it is just amazing. I would've voted for this one thinking it's fully artificially lit!
I was divided on which image to submit. The first image, IMO, looked too "model mayhem" for me to feel comfortable submitting and thought the second one was cleaner and more straight forward. What do I know though, I lost horribly haha. -P
Lee's shot had the best composition but the light was too harsh for my personal liking, the first setup with bounced light was much better imo. Patrick's was the most creative, I like the contrast between run down surroundings and the beautiful model, but it was again just too harsh, I think that kind of lighting is just kind of dated. And if Py went with the shot at 11:42 instead he would have won :) the one that he chose was just meh, too much empty space, cut out hand, too much white in the sky, but he did have the best light ( in my opinion )
These challenges are fantastic, please do more in future! Maybe give yourselves longer than 5 minutes though! I'd have probably voted for Pye's shot but Lee's a close second place for me. Always fun watching you guys.
I'm with Lee on this one, I would have voted for red dress! Congratulations! Bring in more challenges videos. Its fun to watch and you guys do it in the best way.
All the photos were pretty fantastic. I don’t have a bias towards any one photographer, but Pye’s images, even before retouching, look straight out the pages of Italian Vogue. They feel beautifully candid and organic... timeless and filmic. Wow, just wow!
You should have your challenge divided in 3 steps: 1- discovering of the place (the house from bottom to top in this case) 2- choice made by each challenger(place and model) 3- shooting This could allow us to better understand the environment and the choice you have done. Very captivating and interesting video. I agree with the final vote ;)
I really liked Lee's photo. Pye gave the best direction to the models, and was focused on the task. However, Patrick's photo was confusing. Even audacious. Patrick regularly gives in-depth explanations as to why someone else's image doesn't deserve 3 stars during critiques, yet he chose to submit that image for a competition. It's a strange disconnect.
Lee, congrats, but as a side note (A girl in a RED dress) might have a viewer advantage to most people. I was surprised Pye didn't use Stephanie in the chair shot, it was a bit posed, but I think the lighting was better. As Pete said "Lady in the Red Dress wins every time."
I love Patrick"s photo, except for the location! I thought everything, light, composition of the model, was spot on. The location just drew my eyes away from the beautiful pose and green dress :(
I think these video just work much better than the critique ones. I really enjoyed this one. And even in the comment section you can see a generally positive response.
I love Lees shot. the framing, the lighting its a great shot. That said I actually think with the crop on Pyes it looks fantastic and I would wager a bet that it might have won IF it had been cropped in a little. As for Patricks, I get what he was going for, an to be honest the punch vibrant green dress against the rustic looking roof could have worked. again if given a little more time I think that shot could have really been elevated. and it probably was just stupid fiddly things like the cable hanging. I love this back an forth on these competitions. keep them up!
I liked the competition but the one that came in last I liked more but was missing something, the 1st place one I really liked but maybe if it was closer. The 2nd place one was nice but like one of you mention about the depth of field. Could we have blurred the background a bit with our apeture? I loved this competition. I'm no expert but this gives me something to work on.
Loved this video, one of your best; really informative and enjoyed you guys heckling each other in that ½ serious way. Even though Lee "won" here I learned a ton watching each of you shoot and talk us through your approach, and I'm a so called "pro" wedding photographer. I think Patrick kind of lost out by going first and trying to stick to the "rules" that you guys jokingly stretched a bit (a lot?) ;-). Very interesting to see how much Pye was able to squeeze out of the natural light and how he was able to work so quickly without feeling the need to resort to flash when there was good light available. On a real shoot, sometimes having a nice variety of shots can trump just one dramatic shot that takes time to work through. I wonder if Lee and Patrick spending more time with the technical end lead to the model being stiffer for them, while Pye was able to draw out more personality. Any ideas how to get a model more relaxed when there's that super technical focus for the shot? I also found it interesting how the votes generally tend to lean to the more dramatic look, so Lee's photo kind of grabs your eye more than the others, and the rich wood didn't hurt it either. Thanks again for the great content!
Haha what a comedy show. I love this, awesome photographers, funny guys. Wonder who got the other 2% though... Absolutely incredible image Lee, love it! Would have extended the doors in the background to fill the window in the left. Great job! Can't wait for the next one!
jajajajajaajjajajajaa congratulations guys!!!!! great and funny video. Love this challenges, very interesting and helpful to learn new things. Love you 3!!!!!!!!!
I dont disagree that he went a little far with it but if we didn't see the live capture and raw I would say that the edit was good. The Contrast difference can be jarring.
I am not a fan of PYE (ok I love a lot of his work, but I am objective) I love the shot in the hallway! And the light on her face is better than the light you two chose :) But hey, I love natural light :)
These challenges are your best content, well done
Ritz Chronicle's series destroys this xD
Totally agree
Dear Partick, 16% for a portrait image with tv cables next to the face is a good score!
I was excited when I heard the rules. I literally thought it was ONE shot. One click of the shutter, whatever happens, happens. That's a real challenge.
That'd be badass, but also way above their level, crossing into David Yarrow territory /watch?v=QcVRe9X5Prs
I think Jessica Kobessi has one or two videos like that
correct, 1 click, 1 shot.
These challenges between pye and lee are legit best content! Keep adding more like these I really enjoy it! 👍👍👍
I liked Patrick's shot the most, then Lee's, and didn't really like Py's at all. Had he picked the one at 11:42 he probably would have won though.
I don't know this due to slow internet leaving me with low quality video, but was the eyes really in focus on that one?
@@willene3240 idk looks good enough to me but I'm on my phone

agree
You guys mesh well together! You all had me cracking up 😂🤣😂 great competition 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Love the dynamic between these guys. Brilliant.
I chose Patrick’s first shot as the winner
I was divided on which image to submit. The first image, IMO, looked too "model mayhem" for me to feel comfortable submitting and thought the second one was cleaner and more straight forward. What do I know though, I lost horribly haha. -P
I agree with you Manny

Yeah,i love this shot.It was my favorite,when i saw it i said wow🔥
Agree
Don't stop doing this. You guys are on a roll here! Funny, engaging and yet so educational. Thank you!
These videos are amazing! Please keep producing them.
11:42 Is actually my favourite. I like all the others too.
I was surprised when that one didn't show up in the finals
These challenges are fantastic, please do more in future! Maybe give yourselves longer than 5 minutes though! I'd have probably voted for Pye's shot but Lee's a close second place for me. Always fun watching you guys.
I had some big laughs during this video thanks guys! Love your videos.
3:00 "how is my pounding position?" these dudes were on RedBull during this shoot 😂😂😂
I'm with Lee on this one, I would have voted for red dress! Congratulations! Bring in more challenges videos. Its fun to watch and you guys do it in the best way.
Love this video guys. Have missed out on FS for a while but am so glad to start checking out your videos again.
Lady in the Red Dress wins every time.
love the quack sound lol. Love these you guys are so much fun to watch 👍
Pie's comment about please leaving in the AC unit had me laughing and then the lil' guy actually put it into his shot. Omg
These videos are by far the best videos you put out
All the photos were pretty fantastic. I don’t have a bias towards any one photographer, but Pye’s images, even before retouching, look straight out the pages of Italian Vogue. They feel beautifully candid and organic... timeless and filmic. Wow, just wow!
Shooting thru the door with the window with model in red is the best
These competitions and the critic the community are my favorite.
I love these competitions with you guys so fun and I just laugh 😂. I also do like the winning photo but all your guys work is fun and educating
Pye didn't submit his best shot.......the lady in the Red 👗 sitting 11:42

Totally agree.
Agree to that.
Patrick's first image is actually the best of all of these. I'm surprised he went for another one.
likewise, it is an absolutely awesome shot in every sense of the word.

I agree with the final vote ;)
Lee's shot had to take it! The multiple framing, the lighting, the red dress...No competition. Great content guys!
Greetings from Texas!! It was a fun watch...I will look for more videos
Really enjoyed this video. Had great time laughing while learning. Great job guys!
lee, you killed it on this. Love it
Love Patrick's energy, nothing but positive while Pye was there with the bitter, sneaky remarks lol!
“I‘ve got some presets you can use." lmao
Love the challenges.... and laugh at the banter... Yay!
the frame at 12:29 looks stunning! that shud have been the composition and pose for Pye's shot
This is truly the best fstoppers video so far!
This is awesome. I really enjoy viewing your challenges, but also...I really like the soundtrack you all are using for this video. Well done, guys :)
Love these kind of vids. Really wished patrick made a vertical crop with his image.
You guys are hilarious! Great video and content👏🏻❤
I never thought I would say this, but I agree with the community's votes. Congrats Lee!
Lee, congrats, but as a side note (A girl in a RED dress) might have a viewer advantage to most people.

I’m in love with the natural light shots. 😍😍😍
Amazing models and competition. The results are stunning.
Love this video , shoorthing portrait ... and this challenges are awesome
Patrick: "I'm gonna pound you with light. "
Well that escalated quickly.
I was making a joke from Lee and Pye's last competition video. It's kind of an inside joke. -P
Pye: How is my pounding position?
I love Patrick"s photo, except for the location! I thought everything, light, composition of the model, was spot on. The location just drew my eyes away from the beautiful pose and green dress :(
Sync up with the guys are more enjoyable than the competition !
Girl in the green dress looking up shot from the lower position is by far the best!
Great job guys, I love the natural light shots
I think these video just work much better than the critique ones. I really enjoyed this one. And even in the comment section you can see a generally positive response.
MUY DIVERTIDO.. youre great guys!!!

This episode was sooooo good!! I want More! :)
Red dress shot looks stunning!
I love Lees shot. the framing, the lighting its a great shot.

I love this. You guys were fun to watch.
Patrick got the best pose out of the model.. Lee's composition and lighting was so strong that it won..❤️ Happy for Lee 🤩
You all win! I love the shoot out.
This was way too entertaining, please do more of these with Pye
You guys crack me up. I love this series.

Lee's trash talk is so much more bearable when the competitors trash talk back. I really disliked the trash talk on Mike, but here, that's wonderful.
Stephanie....wow!

This one was fun!
Gorgeous model!!!
OMG, you 3 are hilarious!!!
Congratulation Lee, very beautiful composition, you deserve to win this round.
Man this is funny as hell! ♥😂 Love them all!
Unless it's against mike, I'm always rootin for you Lee!
I'm glad to hear I have one fan out there!
I love this kind of content!
Lee's attitude is always brilliant
Am so happy Patrick is back...
"What's this down here" 11:17 lmaoooo
Haha what a comedy show. I love this, awesome photographers, funny guys. Wonder who got the other 2% though... Absolutely incredible image Lee, love it! Would have extended the doors in the background to fill the window in the left. Great job! Can't wait for the next one!
IMO the one w the green dress looked best
This was really fun. Shoot anywhere bts videos are something I personally learn a lot from and get inspired
Patrick’s shadows looked wrong to me-two hard light directions didn’t work.
Patrick's fashion shot looks the best
Flippin hilarious... Pi said “ How’s my pounding position”...
Bro Pye is hilarious and the King of photography trash talk 😂
That was a pitty win you can see he really didn't even try 😂 sometimes in order to save a friendship you have to lose on purpose
Honestly PYE made this episode hilarious haha Great job man lol
Excelente trtabajo, me gusta!!
I love these videos , I’ve learned so much from you guys
I feel like. Never committing to anything. Worse than making excuses for bad decisions.
jajajajajaajjajajajaa congratulations guys!!!!! great and funny video. Love this challenges, very interesting and helpful to learn new things. Love you 3!!!!!!!!!
Love the outcome....great shots gentlemen
"she's literally paid to say that" lol
Great fun to watch !
That natural light is awesome. However, the short guy's image is the best in this comp.
I think you mean Patrick.
I liked Patrick's the most.
I LOVE Pye's trash talk! 🤣
I only liked Pye‘s image to be honest
But I think it was better in raw
Agreed!
Saved me a post. He over did it.
I dont disagree that he went a little far with it but if we didn't see the live capture and raw I would say that the edit was good. The Contrast difference can be jarring.
'Shes literally paid to say that'
Patrick wins for merging architectural photography with person photography
What are you talking about? Patrick shot the least architecture. He shot a wall with cables and AC units.
I am not a fan of PYE (ok I love a lot of his work, but I am objective) I love the shot in the hallway! And the light on her face is better than the light you two chose :) But hey, I love natural light :)
