+FrozenVolcano-Right. While Cox wouldn't admit it, he was really hurt that JD fell for Petey's superficial charm the way several others have, and that JD was becoming fast friends with someone that Cox really trusted, opened up to, and considered a good friend. . .only for Petey to turn around and use him as a way to score a lonely, frustrated wife (Jordan). That after everything JD and Cox had been through together at this point, that Cox was really trying to open up to JD and confide in him. . .JD would run off to a scumbag like Petey for a friend. Given that Petey is a massive scumbag, I wouldn't put it past him to realize that JD and Cox were pretty close, and that he was deliberately using JD in order to get under Cox's skin. Petey wasn't just content and unapologetic about the fact he helped destroy Cox and Jordan's marriage but he was willing to also destroy another relationship with someone Cox was clearly close to while he was at it. Because Petey never fessed up to JD exactly why Cox was mad at him. Petey knew full well why but he was willing to string JD along, play up that he was a former protege of Cox's and as the two proteges, they have a connection no one else has. That Petey understood JD and respected JD in a way Cox never could. When Petey probably didn't care one speck about JD. Because when JD decided to side with Cox and break off any connection with Petey, knowing the scumbag Petey is, Petey didn't hesitate to let JD know that Petey didn't even care about him.
I know acting and that reaction was not an act, he did not know what he JD was talking about. wait a minute, this is a tv show, its all scripted so he was acting like he was not acting about not knowing...now am confusing myself.
It was different with Petey. Petey knew full well who Jordan was, and used information about the fact that they were having problems in their marriage (which he only knew cos Cox had confided in him) to get her into bed. JD had no idea who Jordan was and never would’ve slept with her if he knew.
It's kinda cool to see how later in the series, JD doesn't even need this advice anymore. He's dealt with Cox's crap enough so that he can handle it his own way with smartass remarks. That is, when he doesn't tear up about it.
JD got it wrong--instead of "What were you saying?" which implies he was listening but not paying attention, he went with the slightly more aggressive "I'm sorry, did you say something?". The second one indicates that whatever Cox was saying was just so damn unimportant, JD wasn't sure he heard anyone talking at all. At least it paid off.
OMG that's why I remember him. I saw the other guy on Christmas Do Over i rented from library and couldn't figure out why he looked familiar. Oh and if you never seen it watch that movie its hilarious.
finalfantasylord1 yes, only you, in the whole world, that is why UA-cam is full of clips of the show, because there is no one else that wants this show back, go get them you special and unique person.
She is, but Dr. Cox talks about that at the end of the episode. He says he never blamed her because he feels he did everything he could to make her feel unimportant and unloved. Obviously that's no excuse for cheating on your husband, but it explains why Dr. Cox feels how he does. Healthy or not.
I wish someone knew how to get to my sister in a similar way so I could defeat her. But she doesn't call me girls names as I am a girl but I hate my name so..
Is this a Joke? As a rezident dr cox seems like the dream attending. He takes care of jd and helps him and gives him medical advice. Jd acts like an idiot. He never understood what its like not to have a dr help him. In real life very few people would help you.
I think this whole episode was a whiff. Just randomly writing in a huge part of Dr. Cox's history that never came up again with a guy who never showed up again. If they had followed it up later, if Petey had more charisma than a wet sock, if it had lasting bearing on anyone's characters... any of those would have made this episode's conceit better. As it is, it seems more like weird fanfic in my mind than an actual episode wherein the characters have valuable experiences and/or grow.
J.D. missed the fact that Dr. Cox was actually annoyed about J.D. spending his time with Petey and not with him...
FrozenVolcano Yeah, plus he ruined the Cox marriage!! ...That didn't affect Perry's attitude at all!
I watch the show 3 times at least. And blow me those two facts xD

@@feraflauna3238 Woah.
TIL dr cox is tsundere
The casting on this entire show was perfect, but Johnny C for Cox is one of the best in history
Definitely.
100% agreed.
Hands down!
Without a doubt.
On the scrubs podcast, apparently in the script dr cox was described as a john c mcginley type!
The look on Dr. Cox's face when he said "My grandma died." was priceless.
I love how Dr. Cox is just completely floored by the "My Grandma died" comment. He goes from stunned to suspicious super fast lol.
when JD took that guys advice I thought Cox was gonna kill him.
Same like legit thought he was going to murder him with a stethoscope
@@allblazing1160 since when JD did Cox looked like he was gonna blow
I love how JD just instantly walked away when he said that
I bet Dr. Cox did call Petey girls names too but is in denial about it.
I know acting and that reaction was not an act, he did not know what he JD was talking about. wait a minute, this is a tv show, its all scripted so he was acting like he was not acting about not knowing...now am confusing myself.
+penny farthing lmao
You....you're *J.D.!*
I doubt it. Dr. Cox seems to carefully tailor his insults to suit the needs of each recipient ^_^
He called everyone girl's names because John McGinley calls everybody girl's names and it just became part of his character. Same with the whistle.
I'm surprised Dr. Cox didn't respond with "Grandma Dorian or Nana Hobs?" just to further screw with J.D.
Hahaha!
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
'cause Nana Hobs can be a tinsy bit racist!
Cox was too upset that JD was avoiding him
@@DinaraTengri And Grandma Dorian is already dead.
Pete forgot to tell JD what ever you do don't sleep with his wife
That kinda already happened.
Firstly he didn't know Jordan was Dr Cox ex wife
It was different with Petey. Petey knew full well who Jordan was, and used information about the fact that they were having problems in their marriage (which he only knew cos Cox had confided in him) to get her into bed. JD had no idea who Jordan was and never would’ve slept with her if he knew.

and on one occasion by taking it as a compliment to disarm him.
Ah, so that's why JD made a book about it with a grading system where 5 meant he still isn't over it.
I like how "pushes his shoulder" is the same as "walk with me"
JD's "happy place" face is priceless xD
Cox loves JD so much. It just took him years to admit it
J.D.: Grandma Dorian, or Nana Hobbes? Because Nana Hobbes can be an eensy bit racist. Dr. Kelso: Grandma Dorian. J.D.: She's dead.
YES
JD got it wrong--instead of "What were you saying?" which implies he was listening but not paying attention, he went with the slightly more aggressive "I'm sorry, did you say something?". The second one indicates that whatever Cox was saying was just so damn unimportant, JD wasn't sure he heard anyone talking at all. At least it paid off.
Maybe being more aggressive is why it paid off, Cox respected the push-back.
the end when he was coming up with a reason and lost his train of thought, that's me in a nutshell
Love watching scrubs
April Wales yea i know this show is funny af
Shame they never made a Cox spinoff show.
I loved Petey. I really wish he'd stuck around more.
Ladies and gentlemen, the fabulous Jay Mohr.
Cox is a tsundere!
Stevie T watching 0:19 -> Guitar has been sinned, yet again.
Loved watching this after a long day at high school
Same man. Used to be on comedy central everyday at 2-3
I forgot how funny Scrubs really was.
It was genius. The chemistry and the writing was one of the best in history
"Newbie Cubes" 😂😂😂
Best medical drama ever
Comedy
It is both a drama and a comedy.
You can see the steam coming out of Dr. Cox ears when J. D. said, "I'm sorry, did you say something?"
Its funny to hear the phones in the background. Its both in this show and in the office. Like NBC used the same phone loop for both shows
OMG that's why I remember him. I saw the other guy on Christmas Do Over i rented from library and couldn't figure out why he looked familiar. Oh and if you never seen it watch that movie its hilarious.
am I the only one who wants this series back
finalfantasylord1 yes, only you, in the whole world, that is why UA-cam is full of clips of the show, because there is no one else that wants this show back, go get them you special and unique person.
Only if they re-run the old episodes and leave out that spin-off season. If they make new episodes it's going to suck.
Yes, because the ending was perfect and new episodes would just destroy it
They tried bringing it back and it was terrible.
I can't believe this nice man used to slap Bert Kreischer
One of my favorite scenes.
Every Cox scene is "one of my favourites"
1:51
Why don’t all humans come with tutorials ?!?!?!
"My grandma died" is the best kind of blow off. It's obviously fake, but yet no one will call you out because it's so awkward.
That little punch on the shoulder.... idk
Always felt Petey gets all the blame here when Jordan is to blame too
She is, but Dr. Cox talks about that at the end of the episode. He says he never blamed her because he feels he did everything he could to make her feel unimportant and unloved. Obviously that's no excuse for cheating on your husband, but it explains why Dr. Cox feels how he does. Healthy or not.
nsiderultimaseth I’d actually forgotten that bit of this episode but this scene I always remembered
I believe it, too. They were super cruel to each other in early episodes.
Has anyone ever made a supercut of all of Jay Leno's cameos in TV and movies.
Can someone, for the love of GOD, tell me the name of the background music at 1:49?
No seriously tell me about it.
oh!
ohhhh.
these are the scenes of dialogue that made this show a classic.
But i gotta give it ya there for yankin’ my chain there. There!
The jaw clamp: *GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR* 😝
No one
Me: ha! ‘Newbie cubes’ xD
that exit
lol
Is it me, or does Cox look like Roger Daltrey?
I wish someone knew how to get to my sister in a similar way so I could defeat her. But she doesn't call me girls names as I am a girl but I hate my name so..
girls names?
Classic excuse at the end there
Good scene, but when was the last time an IM doc performed a pericardiocentesis?
41 gay guys were misled by the title.
The ending of this clip has ADHD written all over it lmao
Aw the girls names are just for JD
U r gorgeous
The original dr.sloan and dr.shepard
So did he use this ever again?
Newbie cubes.

Cool episode even I didn't liked that Petey guy xD
Zach Braff is taller than jay Mohr? Mind blown
What was Jay Leno implying there?
Weed.
