@@OneKyng I love this comment so much. You just said a taser can kill someone, which is absolutely true. The law clearly states that any action that can cause a deadly outcome CAN be met with deadly force. By the state guidelines, the manufacturer’s guidelines, former ATL DA Paul Howard’s statements, and your own words, a taser is NOT non lethal force, and is considered a lethal weapon because it can result in serious injury or death. that means, after your cousin resisted arrest, assaulted two police officers, forcibly stole an officers taser, fled from police, and then pointed the stolen taser at an officer, the officer was justified in meeting potentially deadly force with potentially deadly force. Who cares if they knew where he lived? People who break the law don’t get to decide when they want to go to jail. It’s not your job to track people down is it there babysitters try to convince people to come to jail and they were on terms. If you don’t want to go to jail, don’t break the law. Looks like if you are black, you have immunity against the police. 1.- A suspect fell asleep in a drive-through causing disturbance. 2.- After a respectful and even kind interrogatory, police officers determined that the suspect was drunk and unavailable to drive. 3.- The suspect is going to be arrested but fought the police officer and grabs his taser. 4.- The suspect point at the officer and attempts to shoot him. 5.- The officer using his legal right to protect his life shoots the criminal. Your comment was a month ago, but man you didn't do much research into the incident. Brooks was passed out drunk in the drive-through lane of the Wendy's, blocking the passage of traffic. When Rolfe went to arrest him, Brooks assaulted both officers, giving at least one a concussion and he ran off with Bosnan's Taser. While fleeing, Brooks turned back and fired the taser at Rolfe's face, narrowly missing him. (You can see it in the footage) and Rolfe fired his service pistol almost immediately after the prongs missed his head. The taser can still be used to drive-stun (stun via making direct physical contact) even after the cartridges are fired, thus it remains a deadly threat while it's within Brooks' possession. If Brooks drive-stunned Rolfe then he could have gotten Rolfe's firearm and it could have gotten worse from there. Sorry, but in Georgia a Taser is/was classified as a Deadly Weapon (as confirmed by the former DA, Paul Howard, who was later replaced by someone else and is undergoing corruption investigations). Depending on taser models, they can fire one or more cartridges, theirs fired at least two. Rolfe fired his twice, Bosnan fired his at least once during the initial scuffle before being thrown by Brooks. Brooks knew he was going back to prison for at least seven years since he broke his parole (he was let out early from a previous conviction due to COVID-19 and would be convicted of DUI, so he decided to fight.) Brooks chose to suicide by cop that night, he could have easily gone silently and return to prison. The saddest thing is that his girlfriend (he was married with kids, he was convicted of family battery, at least one charge involved children) is one of the people believed to have burned down that Wendy's that night. Great dude, eh?
No, what they are talking about is whether the proper procedures for terminating him were followed by the City. This is exactly what happens when counsel tries to rope in irrelevant matters before an agency that has zero authority to rule in that matter. The sole question before the Board was whether the city followed proper, legally mandated requirements BEFORE terminating him. It didn't. It is for the criminal court to determine whether his use of force (or the taking of another human life) was justified. Not guilty yet.

If my brother, or any relative decided to assault two officers after being passed out drunk in the drive-through lane of a restaurant (Wendy's in this case) instead of co-operating and going back to prison (Brooks violated his parole by committing DUI and knew he was looking at a much longer stay in Prison. He was let out early from a prior conviction due to COVID-19) and didn't want to go back, I wouldn't be upset with the officers in any capacity.
It’s really that simple. Nobody “set up” your cousin by forcing him to drink, drive, pass out in a running car, or commit any of the other multitude of felonies he committed so they could charge him.
Brooks knew he was going back to prison for at least seven years since he broke his parole (he was let out early from a previous conviction due to COVID-19 and would be convicted of DUI, so he decided to fight.)
Brooks chose to suicide by cop that night, he could have easily gone silently and return to prison.

The country (the US) itself would’ve never formed if the reflexively servile class like yourself had prevailed before the institutional abuses (many strikingly similar to contemporary cop abuses) of the British in the 18th century.

Not much of a moving violation.
Cops deliver a Taser by not defending their belt, then shoot the guy in the back because they lost the wrestling match.

Praying for Garrett Rolfe. I keep watching the video and wonder how in the hell he is being charged with murder. Talk about a failed system. GIVE this man his job back.
He shot a man in the back. Mr. Brooks had a weapon that the police themselves considered non life threatening. Not to mention the taser was deployed twice before he was shot. 🤔

This is crazy to me because effectively the defense and the judge have tied the prosecution's hands and don't understand why she doesn't have any questions to ask when he invokes the fifth amendment on every single question first of all if he weren't guilty why would he have to evoke the fifth amendment. Why do the powers that be in the administration of law enforcement ignore the following:
Post shooting incident testing
a. Every officer who fires his/her weapon in the line of duty (except for training or when killing an injured or dangerous animal) shall submit to a breath alcohol test and a urine drug test.
b. Post shooting incident testing shall be required and completed whenever possible within two (2) hours of the shooting occurrence, but in any case no later than eight (8) hours after the shooting for breath alcohol testing and thirty-two (32) hours for controlled substance testing.
🤔
Why is there currently an omission to the above after a police shooting?
There is not. Police are tested after shootings.

How do you not answer questions but get to keep your job. Unbelievable For all the backyard Lawyers. You can not shoot a perp knowing that the person can not harm you. His training will come back to haunt him in trail. They kicked a dying Man for all to see.
He is within his constitutional right to refuse to answer questions. The “perp” in this instance was armed, and inebriated. He fought police and ran. Do NOT group him in the same category as the likes of ahmaud arbery who TRULY died at the hands of racist bigots. Brooks’ case was a shame. But acting in the best safety of the officer and the community goes beyond the color of the Brooks’ skin tone. He made consecutive foolish decisions and it cost him his life.
