Dude my fall run has been awful... last night I went on the incoming tide till about 10pm. Used bucktails to white shads and no luck. I was also fishing the bays. Union Beach to the amboys. I've caught one stripper over at leo with a needle fish and a green teaser for my first night trip. Still going at it tm!
@@TriboroFishing I've seen you around before at all the usual haunts. Got some good tips from you for tog off the rocks..will thank you in person next time I see you.
Recently came across your channel and wanted to thank you for the helpful tips on fishing. As a newbie, there are a lot of questions and I am making improvements watching your videos. I read that you have a monster aquarium, would be cool if you could do a video and share it with us. TIA.
You can get away with .5 on open beach for sure as long as it's the right build and the tide isnt ripping. The bulk of the hair, trailer, lb test line and even head shape play a role. A .5oz bucktail with just enough hair and a jig strip will have less drag then a generously tied .75oz bucktail (like a jetty caster) with a swimming shad, especially the zman plastics because they're buoyant. Line makes a big difference as well. Fluorocarbon has a thinner diameter and higher density then mono. Mono will stay up in the water column where FC will sink slowly. To get max depth out of a lighter bucktail stay away from bulky trailers that will create drag and use the thinnest leader possible. Cast into the tide and let the current present the bucktail to the spot where you think fish may be holding. Just for the record I'm no expert, this just works for me consistently. I'm in southern jersey where the beaches are fairly shallow. Your results may vary depending on depth and current but the same principles apply.
The best wind direction is from your back plus your lures cast further. To me about 15 mps and above starts to get difficult if the wind direction is not in your favor.
Let me know how your fall run is going!
All right man well that’s a good sign! It’s good to see that it’s starting to come to the surf. Great video man
Thanks man
No luck on the LBI beaches lately. Even chunking bunker and clam was not producing. A few dogfish and a cocktail blues.
Fire video as always Ray! Big fish coming your way, tight lines!
Lol thanks man
I want to try that for fresh water fish and see what happens

Burple sp minnow worked this morning for my PB from the sand. Didnt measure or weight but way over slot. Swam away happy!
That sp minnow is probably my favorite I also caught my pb on bone white at night.

Appreciate you watching my channel. One day I will show my Aquarium.
My fall run has sucked. Just small blues
Thx for video Ray !!!
It’s been tough of everyone keep fishing bro.
You ever throw bucktails in the surf as small as 1/2 oz. These NY & NJ sand beaches are usually no more the 6 - 8 feet deep even on our longest cast.
1/2 oz is possible if the conditions were right at the back bays but the surf it might be to light.

What size rod and reel do u use off the beach? I wanna get into surf fishing.
First keeper last night at Manasquan. 8lbs 28” on a TA Darter 🎣🎣
Sick bro
Fishing has been good out here around Ny area jbay and out east
I heard some beaches are producing some good action but not all of them. It’s definitely not what it use to be.
What size paddle tail u use
Great video
why use paddle tail on the hairy?
Curious to what wind direction you feel is best and what would be the max wind you think you should fish in on the surf?

Is that ocean grove nj?
Awsome 👏👏
Just caught a bass like 50 pounds
Nice
I wouldn’t call these bass fall run stripers as I’ve been catching bass that size in the NJ surf since June.
Maybe the second one
@@TriboroFishing Caught bass between 15-25 inches all summer.
