So nice meeting you and Bearded Brad with my husband and friends at BeachBumOutdoors a couple days ago ! You guys are so authentic- you made my day!!! Store is awesome. Learned so much and we caught several Pompano already. Love all these videos!
Used to catch 12-20 pound blues blitzing the surf on Hatteras Island in NC regularly late '80s thru the mid '90s. Amazing seeing them chasing schools of Speckled Trout into the wash on the beach. I once dip netted a 7-8lb Speck between my feet. One big bite out of it...
For 25 years I have been going to 30a and this is the first spring I have not made it down. ;( Love your videos though as they bring me there for a second. ;)
@@braydenpaulk5079 I catch them all the time on light wire leader. This guy is getting broken off right after hook set, so it's probably teeth doing it. Flouro will help, but wire lasts longer and is less expensive.
Thanks for the great content. When fishing a a spoon do you mostly use a steady retrieve so it doesnt get stuck on bottom or jig it as it comes back? I dont have much experience with this type of lure
You ever use the larger 6.5inch yozuri mag darter in the mullet pattern? Think that may help a bit especially if you know you have fish species in the area that eat the mullet. I love using the white and holographic bronze due to the two colors really do cover alot of the color patterns of the bait out there.
Have yall ever fished the bayside dauphin island. I’m bringing some lures and circle hooks. What else do yall recommend for little fish? First day is tomorrow
I've never commented but watched a lot of your vids. I am commenting because I loved the fact you did not spend 2-5 minutes at home telling us what you were planning... I use that as commercial time and go do things so I can watch you fish. Loved that you were ready to jump in and then talk. Even got a like. I'm pretty tight with those... ;-) thanks for what you do. It;'s not a complaint ... only comment.. sort of like opinions and other things.. we all have one.
For spanish cast and retrieve the lure like you’re trying to take it away from the fish and keep them from getting it! For bluefish let the lure sink to the bottom and retrieve much slower.
When I was younger my dad and I would fish Doctors Pass here in Naples ,,,I would throw out a cut piece of mullet or Ladyfish on a big rod and caught a few Big Blues like that,,,They were prob 7 - 8 lbs and Powerful they definitely fight Hard!!! We would eat them and they were good,,, Not really targeting them but I remember catching a few Big Blues like that,,
Using the Old Red Devil out in Arizona when I was a kid having fish with a spoon in probably 40 years but I did just go buy a silver and a gold spoon to bring back old memories going to use them on the beach this summer hopefully I do as good as you have with one PS stay away from the catfish
People that don't know might think you were being dramatic saying they can bite your finger off. 6th - 11th grade in Dover Delaware. Every year at least one person was reported on news to have lost an appendage.
I’ve noticed after following you for over three years that you spend very little time in the water. The few times I’ve fished the beach, I find myself in the water a lot. I guess I’m trying to get out further. Why is it You don’t wade in the water?
In the panhandle of Florida (and the gulf coast of Alabama) the trough between the shoreline and the sandbar is closer and deeper than on the Atlantic coastline. You don’t have to cast as far (or over the sandbar) to catch common targets species like whiting and pompano. If you’re specifically targeting larger fish you can wade out to make sure your cast gets past the sandbar, but if you’re just wanting to bring home dinner there’s usually not a need to do that.
I went out on the party boats out of NJ when I was a kid. We'd bring a 55 gal trash can to put the fish in. It'd be overflowing by the end of the night! Good times, eh!
Spoon, pen slammer, spanish.... maybe bonita or young albacore. Ok... blues.... ladies...... blues stink for food unless fresh and properly cleaned. Rather eat bonita.

Best time of the day to be out. Love dawn fishing. Nice One. Tightlines from Anglesey North Wales.
How long is your rod?
Can’t remember. But definitely longer than yours.
Ouch!!! Felt the heat from that burn here in Texas!
I was thinking "longer than your bait."
This video is why I subscribed years ago. Thanks

Great content. I so enjoy all your videos
Was this down at Fort Morgan? You have the Clark spoons at your store? I'll be there in a few weeks, I might pick one up if you have them...
One thing you Brent an Brad have in common is Fred always around when y'all fishing that's cool man. Bless.

Hey- What pound test line do you run to catch spanish? They always seem to break me off quickly after hook set
Use a light wire leader
Better to use 40-50 lb flouro leader for Spanish especially off the pier. Spanish can see wire leader and can spook off of it.

Blues and Spanish like to strike fast moving objects.

Awesome ready for the summer
Gotta love the Clark Spoon!
One of my favorite lures.
What’s the typical rod length and power you use for a 4000 reel when fishing the surf
Great video, thank you!
What weight / size clark spoon do you use?
Brother
What length/size pole are you using and what is the weight of the jig?
I think that is the little bummy 9’6.
Is that medium heavy or heavy rod?
Very entertaining. Are you fishing in the Gulf or in a bay?
This is the gulf
Have yall ever fished the bayside dauphin island. I’m bringing some lures and circle hooks. What else do yall recommend for little fish? First day is tomorrow
What line do you use on the bummy stick and slammer combo?
i bought a x-rap for king mackerel and having trouble on how to set the hook do u jig to the side or keep on reeling?
How long is the Bummy Stick you are using?? Is it a 1 piece? I’m needing a new surf rod.
When is the pier going to open in Gulf Shores?
Great video!

Solid morning when they are running bait on the beach!
Those blues are fun to catch.
I used to do the same thing on the rare trips that I did make the beach. There was always something biting.

any tips for chasing spanish from the beach?
Throw something Shiney (spoons or gotcha plugs), reel as fast as you think you can, then reel a little faster! They roam around like a wolf pack
Watch this video and pay attention

I got my biggest Tarpon ,208 lbs. at Doctor's Pass north side on a Jack head and a 4.0 Senator.
The parking is expensive there.
Where is that beach access?

Sting rays. Sharks. Crabs. Fear.
The undertows can be bad.
Just had a pedicure. 😂
Love ya dude!

In the Panhandle the first and second sandbars are usually closer in than many other shorelines.
I was nine years old and catching the gorilla blue fish on the party boat
I went out on the party boats out of NJ when I was a kid. We'd bring a 55 gal trash can to put the fish in. It'd be overflowing by the end of the night! Good times, eh!
I LOVE this kind of fishing!! ---------------------------------------~
Identical waters.
Spoon, pen slammer, spanish.... maybe bonita or young albacore. Ok... blues.... ladies...... blues stink for food unless fresh and properly cleaned. Rather eat bonita.
