  • This is what I believe to be the best way to mount your Wolfbox G900, or any aftermarket rear cam for the 5th Gen Toyota 4Runner!
I routed all the wiring through the cars existing ports and rubber fittings. Every thing looks factory and more importantly CLEAN!….

Great video. When I first installed my G900 I mounted the rear camera on the inside just like you did initially. I ended up relocating the camera to the outside because I ran into the same problem with visibility when it rains. I think where you and I have our rear cameras mounted, it looks really OEM. No one even knows there’s a camera there unless I show them.

@@rhino4602 thank you! You live and you learn, right? This spot just makes such a big difference when it rains, and I agree- nobody can really see it unless you point it out!

Looks like you used a mount for the screen that replaces the stock mirror completely. Can you detail what you did there?

@@armourbl Wolfbox sells a direct mount for the 4Runner. When I ordered the Wolfbox G900 I added the mount to my cart. Then you just screw the Wolfbox into the mount!

is there a need to tap into the reverse light if the mirror shows front and rear camera anyways?
or is the point to have a full screen back up camera everytime you put it in reverse?

I think it’s meant for those who do not have a backup camera in the first place. I made a follow up video where I relocated my camera, and I did not use the red wire/reverse light option

I have mine mounted slightly different so I don’t see the wiper in the mirror when it’s on, but I will probably do the rerouting later.

@@ayodangit why does it matter? It’s not like you’re ever going to need to use your wiper unless you’re physically turning your head and looking out the back.
