This was one of the best detailed videos I have watched using faux leather(Hobby Lobby) !! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Great Job! Please keep posting.. I would love to see different shapes..
This is an excellent resource. I just got a cricut maker and could not get anything to cut, just kept making a mess….and AFTER watching this I am having success.
When you finish cutting for the day and your mats look "dirty" from the edges of the earrings, you can wash your mat with non-alcohol baby wipes. I buy packs at Dollar Tree and they work great! I then hang them on a pant's hanger with the 2 clips and let them dry. Even a really dirty mat that has never been cleaned...and it has so little stickiness left that you always have to tape everything down...you will be amazed at how much more life you can get. Cleaning them as you go along when you are done for the day...because it takes a while to dry completely & get all sticky again!
Another great tip to resticky mats...after you’ve cleaned your mats several times and the sticky is all or mostly gone, try using the Zig two-way glue (broad tip) to resticky them. This has given new life to super old, dirty mats and mats that have absolutely no sticky left. I buy them on Amazon. Be sure to get the broad tip to make it quicker.
I also use soap and water on all but my fabric grip and it works beautifully. I have a clothes drying rack and just lay them on the shelves of that puppy to dry. I just got my maker end of 2021 and i saw the cleaning tips on a UA-cam video before i even got it in the mail so i have been cleaning mine with either baby wipes or when they really need some tlc, take it to my tub and use the soft side of my sponge.
Thank you very helpful and informative video-I was hoping you were going to show one for the different glitter leathers which I have had a problem but- I have learned so much from you great teacher - and thank you for taking your time to do this video-hugs
I am a newbie to cricut. Got mine for Christmas. Started out doing paper projects to learn some basics, just beginning to start on learning to make earrings. This video was great! So many great tips. Thanks for the video.
BTW DOLLAR TREE NOW HAS faux leathers Blk Blu Brwn & White 😊there fairly thick also they are now selling Iron on Vinyl (not sticky enough idt so I put that back 🤷🏽♀️)I seen Red Blk Whte Gld slvr and blue .... also they have decorative iron on now too . I already knew they were going to jump on the bandwagon 😂
I've used the iron on to itself and worked fine. And love the faux leather. Have used heat bond on one side then cut pair of earrings with and without then iron them together. Worked great for me. Hard to find the FL these days so when I came across the iron on I stocked up on the colors they had. Don't think they'll hold up for clothing but jewelry and bows they should be fine. And the iron on sheets are 12x12, fitting my scrapbook containers for storing. Do advise to run roller over the cuts before weeding. And have patience. Cheaper does come with downfalls but some savings at least helps. I'm hoping to use it on some other projects soon. 🙏 it works for them too. Back to crafting
Hello! I am watching your video AGAIN! I ordered the 9x9, mat, and mini through your link. Looked like good deals! I work on a Cameo 4. Not a lot of experience, but enough to know that I need more study. This video is GREAT! Over the past year, since Black Friday last year, I have stockpiled supplies. I love earrings and have learned from you videos. I have the Hobby Lobby fauxs and will enjoy learning on them! I also have ordered from Pink Antler & Art of Fabric. I made sure they knew that you sent me! When I get to selling I will always credit those who taught me. You will be included here. I will let you know in advance. I will have next Holiday season as my target date. I also do polymer clay and beading, with respective artist credits there, also! My moccasins and tooling jewelry (still learning there!) are my own designs!!! I know that people do not always shop in one place. Giving credit to other shops makes everyone happier. So I wanted to take this time to say THANK YOU! Blessings and Re Jouir -Darlene
Just discussing this on fb with cricut peeps and how they are different texture and feel🥴thank you for doing this!!!! Maybe make chart for hobby lobby And ribbon /faux leather With directions for cutting Mat Blade Setting Etc Maker and explorer??
Thank you so much for this video. You have been so helpful. I have subscribed and will faithfully be viewing and learning from your videos. I've just recently started making the earrings using marine vinyl. I think I will be trying the Faux leather since viewing your videos.
Just got done trying this. It was awesome! I used the transfer tape like you recommended on the pebbled faux leather from Hobby Lobby (which I had actually purchased to try before I found your video!) Thanks so much for the video and the tips!
This was a wonderfully helpful video! Thank you so much! I'm cutting out earrings right and left now. Your voice and words are so easy to follow. I've subscribed and look forward to more videos from you. Thank you!
Hi. I’m a dummy!!! No wonder it didn’t work when I tried to make bows. I put the faux leather glitter side up. Lol Is there a deep point blade for maker? Or is there only one that fits both machines? Great video. Thank you ☺️
My deep blade fits both my Cricut Explore Air and my Cricut Maker. Good luck with your glitter sheets. If you have a hard time with the chunky glitter, try using the material setting "denim bonded"
Intricate cuts are possible 🤗 I used your tips in this tutorial and played around with different blades, tools and settings until I figured it out. Here’s what I did: Tools: -Cricut Maker -Deep cut blade (Roland brand from Amazon- cheaper than Cricut brand and just as good) -Strong grip mat (NICAPA brand from Amazon- cheaper than Cricut brand and better in my opinion) -Strong-grip transfer tape (Cricut brand) -Painters tape (Dollar Tree) -Brayer (Cricut brand) -Pointed, but dull tip tweezers -Small tweezer type spatula tool (Cricut brand) -Cuticle scissors (small, curved-blade scissors with sharp pointed tips) -Hobby Lobby pebbled faux leather -SVG: Tropical Monstera leaf image (Pinterest has some free options) -Lighter -Place the strong bond transfer tape with sticky side up onto your mat, remove paper from the sticky side after you place it -Apply faux leather face down on top of your strong bond transfer tape (use a piece that’s just big enough for your image- (I leave about an inch parameter around the image) -Apply painters tape around edges of faux leather -Brayer faux leather and painters tape onto transfer tape/mat (apply a good amount of pressure) -Use snap mat to insure your image is placed exactly where you want it on the mat -Deep cut blade -Settings: Denim, bonded; more pressure -Cut one complete pass through (the denim, bonded setting automatically cuts twice) DO NOT CLICK EJECT ARROWS! Leave everything just like it is and... -Remove blade from housing and clean it by blowing the lint off, then puncture a ball of aluminum foil multiple times. Return blade to housing. -Very carefully, Brayer your cut leaf while it is still on the mat-pressing down any small areas that may be sticking up. Be careful not to disturb your mat too much, so you don’t off-set the next cut -Click the “C” button again. This will cause the machine to go over your exact cut again (twice because of the denim, bonded setting). -When the cut is finished, without clicking the eject button, make sure that your faux leather is cut, cleanly. If you do have a clean cut, click eject arrows button -Gently remove your cut image by using tweezers and the spatula-like tweezers. Be careful, the image is delicate and will tear easily -Use cuticle scissors to cut out any tiny holes, edges, etc. that didn’t cut cleanly. The small curved blades are perfect to get into tiny spaces. -Also, make all cuts/trims from the back side of the faux leather, not the front -Use a lighter to gently go over fuzzy edges. (Heat a tiny bit at a time, it’s easy to over do it) * I was able to make 1.5” monstera leaf earrings with these techniques
Do you use a deep cutting blade or the fine cut blade? I sent my hobby lobby faux leather through my explorer air 2 about 6 times and it still didnt cut all the way through. I took the blade out a couple times to sharpened it on some foil too
Thank you so much for the video♥️ I’m a Cricut newbie and greatly appreciated the tips(I don’t sew so I didn’t know about heat &bond but I’m gonna have to get me some now ;) I’m looking forward to more videos I’m binge watching as we speak 😁♥️
I have the same issues with iron-on material and have had great success with taping down with washi tape...even if I accidentally get the tape in the cutting zone, the washi is so thin that my Cricut just cuts right through without issue. Hope that helps 🤗
I've tried so many times to do pebbled leather and it never cut through no matter how many times I run over! What am I doing wrong I followed everything!?
When you have 5x5 or 12x12, how to get the most out of your sheet? Maybe put the second teardrop upside down. Also, what are some more shapes you can get in the sheet of leather? I do make jewelry but I'm just starting out with leather. In the beginning, do I have to buy the heat and press?
No. You can find free earrings SVG files and then you can upload load them. I always link to the earring files that I use. I buy these outside of Cricut for a couple of dollars usually. I don’t have Cricut access.
I'm new in the world of cricut, I have the maker. I'm very confused, some say you can cut faux leather with the rotary blade, others the regular blade and at Joann 's they told me you need the deep blade...... Please help
Your videos are the only ones that actually teach us how to make a finished product. I just got my Cricut machine last month and until last night when I found your videos didn’t know how to use the machine. Thank you so much, I look forward to learning more!
I am a newbie to Cricut , and I have purchased a lot of this from Hobby Lobby and didn’t know what to do with it. So glad I ran across your channel, I’ve learned so much. Thank you for all the info.😁
I tried to watch all of this. This lesson is great because you will learn all Faux leather is not the same. I cant get the Hobby Lobby bumpy Gold to cut in a silhouette or sizzex press. It has a cotton back.. its thick and even the front seems to be made of Kevlar.. Just hard to cut. I bought some maroon vinyl from Jo Ann's that had a cotton back and it's a pain to cut.. it just has strands that stick in the cuts. I may have to try putting transfer paper on front. This is a great video that let's people know all Faux leather is not the same.. What Really is Faux Leather..lol Glitter, fur, vinyl???
I purchased some of this ribbon because I thought it would make beautiful Travelers Journal Covers. I had trouble cutting it. I am going to try again using these tips. Thanks
I just picked up some Cricut faux suede; do you have any advice which side to place down on the mat? It is impossible to find any suede cutting videos!!
Absolutely awesome video!!! Even though it was long, you kept my attention by going at a very reasonable pace. There was a lot of information and excellent tips you shared and I so appreciate that!! Thank you so very much for taking the time to create this tutorial. I sincerely appreciate all your hard work!! 💐❣💐❣💐❣💐❣
I used a new blade, new mat and the same material. Not one setting works for me. I have the maker. I have no luck with any materials...only iron on and vinyl.
I did use shimmer leather on them. Although with the thinner fabrics like the black one and the cheetah cloth-like fabric, I sometimes do the paper thin faux leather option. And for the thicker Hobby Lobby faux leathers, I have to select the More Pressure option and send it for a second pass by pressing the C button to do another cut before ejecting the mat.
Has anyone had an issue, where they were able to cut their faux leather in their cricut machine and all of a sudden i can’t cut not one bow to save my life??? 😩😩😩😭😭😭 I’m hoping this video helps.
This video is great. I have a question I'm trying to cut gold foil vinyl fabric. I'm cutting little Cresent moons, but when it cuts the far side of it, it lifts up and doesn't cut the inner part. I have it gold side down, strong grip mat and on denim bonded. I'm wondering if the transfer tape with help.
I watched your video on the faux leather christmas tree and the buffalo plaid earrings and the material is slipping with my maker is cutting the tree. Help!!!
I’m not sure if you know this, but I didn’t catch it in your video. You can clean your mat with hot soapy water and it will be sticky and clean over and over and over.
Can I use this for keychain fob..when I go to jo Ann to ask the person in the fabric selection do they know vinyl that ppl make keychain with they don’t know nth.
I am trying to cut chunky glitter faux leather and one worked the over side the material bunched up when cutting teardrop only no centre accent.. would you help me on brain storming
I’m new to making earrings!! I’ve also watched almost all of your videos on how to also tip & tricks!! I will be trying to make earrings for the first time today! I feel way more comfortable trying this now that I’ve watched & learned from you!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of earrings making with us!! Super excited to try & make mine!!
I have the same Hobby Lobby faux leather ribbon. I used a brand new fine point blade, and a brand new purple cutting mat. I even taped the faux leather down. At some points the cutter just dragged the fabric and shredded it. I tried denim, leather 1mm, canvas...still same result. Any suggestions?
Did you put the transfer paper onto the mat? This is what helped me with the hobby lobby faux leather. Is that what you mean by "taped it down?" Was the new blade a Cricut brand blade? Which Hobby Lobby material were you using?
What a coincidence...my faux just came from Hobby Lobby, I got the gold leopard. I was going to use mine for sewing as a trim to wallets, pocketbooks, etc. Would this work for those projects? Thank you
VERY HELPFUL!!!👏🏼👏🏼 I really appreciate your tips and tricks. Now I can get back to cutting out my earrings!! 🎉🎉I also subscribed and I'm looking forward to exploring your channel!!👍🏽👍🏽🙋🏻💜 TFS
I tried to cut glitter faux leather and it would not cut. I even tried with a deep cut blade. Does the size of the earring matter? I made them one inch for my granddaughter.
I knew my cricut would cut these leathers. I wish you would have the chunky glitter ribbons(Michaels). But you did answer one of my questions which was the blade option. Thanks for sharing. Hello from cerritos California.
Thanks for the tips greatly appreciated. I have found a awesome way to clean up the fuzzies around the earrings. Some people cut them off. I use a battery powered mini lint shaver. Works wonderfully.
I want to make a shamrock to go with my earrings. I don’t have green leather. So i tried glitter htv. I ironed it on the back of a piece of white vinyl. No problem. I cut using the shimmer faux leather setting. I i made three passes twice. It didn’t cut through and the top is very jagged. I placed it with the leather side down and glitter side up on strong grip transfer tape. Next i changed my blade to deep cut and i added pressure. It still didn’t cut through. It’s a mess. It is not hobby lobby FL. it says the leather is 1.2mm thick. Then add the htv to that. What should i do to remedy this.
If it is 1.2 mm thick, I think you need to move to the deep cut blade and select genuine leather option. I do think it was good to face glitter side down on transfer tape so I would recommend that.
My Inspiration Corner thank you. I remember you saying glitter side down and decided that will be what i do on my next try. Thank you for the suggestion.
I have a question. I'm new to the cricut world and am watching your very helpful videos, which I love BTW. But is there a difference in transfer tape and the contact paper to stick down your materials on your mat? Transfer Tape you use with your ready press usually, am I right? Contact paper can you heat and use as a transfer tape also. I'm confused 🤔
Hi Becky. I use these words As the same thing all the time. I do use both. If I think a material will be hard to cut (Hobby Lobby black ribbon) I use strong grip transfer tape. But I often use contact paper as well. Even contact paper at Dollar Tree works for me. However if the cut is intricate or a challenging material, I stick with transfer tape
What about the Hobby Lobby “faux leather” glitter sheets? What mat, blade, settings would you use (chunky and fine glitter). Not sure if you have experimented material from hobby lobby almost has like a canvas backing.
When using glue, I use one of these two things: amzn.to/2ZOeyJo amzn.to/2WESYF4 More recently, I use Heat N bond and adhere the two pieces of faux leather together before I even cut it on my Cricut. I love this technique! amzn.to/39dsvU0
Oh my gosh your video is awesome!!! i have watched several and just could not find one that helped my learn I hope to get to watch your others and future thank you
(deep breath) I'm about to take the plunge and try to make earrings. I'm new to Cricut and am completely nervous. I'm so glad I found your channel. This is the first video I've seen but I'm hooked already. Thank you for sharing.
thank you for your video. you made a game changer for me. the other videos have the faux leather face up and I use the cricut transfer paper and it still does not stay down all the time. but now it will face down.
I feel like I learned so much! I’ve been doing faux leather earrings and sometimes I want to throw it all in the garbage. I knew about the heat and bond, but i never thought of htv! I 💯 will be watching your other videos and subscribed!
The silver pebble was awful! I made key fobs. I’m ordering from My Punk embroider $5 + rolls (think 12”x54”). I loved the Cricut faux leather for earrings.
I need help with the setting for the same vinyl you’re using from Hobby Lobby. I’m trying to cut the Navy blue leather, it’s kind of thick. The backing is kind if like felt. I’ve wasted half the roll 🤦🏻♀️. I’m using the Cricut Maker Deep point blade. It starts to cut but after two or three passes it starts bunching up and gets jammed in the machine. I’m wondering have you cut this type of Faux leather? What setting did you use and how do you keep the material from bunching up??? I hope this makes sense and you can help me. Thank you!
Thank you - I just purchased "The Ribbon Boutique" faux leather from Hobby Lobby today and then after-the-fact wondered about adhering heat transfer to the FRONT.
I love your videos! Great information. Easy to understand. Very informative. Thank you. My question...Do you have a favorite material to work with in making the faux/leather earrings? I'd also be interested in combining mediums ( wood/leather. Do you have any videos for newbies to these techniques? Thank you :)
All of those are beautiful. I've used different ones of those from Hobby Lobby, and I fell in love with them and made earrings. And I used them to make my tumblers also. But I just wanted to say that you explained everything really good.
Please, please, please tell me which department you find the faux leather ribbon, today the staff at my Hobby Lobby had me back and forth around the store and I still couldn't find the faux leather ribbon. Thanks in advance!!!
Hello. I don't have a cricket however can regular scissors work, ones for cutting fabric or a rotary cutter?? Those patterns , colored n textures are awesome. Will check out HL, hoping to catch on sale
Yes, you can find templates to use on Pinterest and you can cut in many ways. Some faux leather is thin and you can cut it with regular scissors. I’d recommend a pair of leather scissors if you are working with thicker materials.
I use just a few of these hobby lobby faux leathers to mix and match with real leather if I can't find a design on genuine leather I like. Always put on top the faux. When you use these you end up working triple and using more materials to hide the fake or imperfections. In my opinion and you can't sell them for much. At the end I rather to use less materials ( genuine leather in One step, No coverings and selling them for better price, and better quality. Less time making. 🤩😎
@my inspiration corner thank you so much for sharing this video! I knew most of what you showed but I did want to share a tip I learned when cutting double sided faux leather sheets. I found them on Etsy from seller The Art of Fabric Folding & LOVE LOVE LOVE them. They aren't very expensive but I did have a heck of a time trying to cut them as they are a good bit thicker than any of the hobby lobby types. I tried a couple dozen different setting and blade combos & finally found that if you use the deep cut blade on the shimmer leather 1mm setting & instead of unloading after the 1st cut, do a double cut the cut comes out beautifully! Unfortunately I went through a ton of product trying to find the right cut setting and blade. :( I LOVE the double sided faux leather because its the perfect weight & you don't have to worry about covering up the other side of your cut. Thanks again for sharing!!
It was a long video but you were very informative and helpful in so many ways. Thank you for this video. I had given up on the stretchy leather and the thinner stuff. Now I’m super inspired

How do you size your template in design space. Some of the tear drops are really big.

I’m very new to all this. Would a lint roller work to clean them too? The kind that look like masking tape on a roller?

Maybe make chart for hobby lobby
And ribbon /faux leather
With directions for cutting

Blade

Etc
Maker and explorer??
That’s a great idea-to make a chart
Has anyone found one of this?! Would be a huge help!!!!
I had an issue with the faux leather sticking to the mat, but I see how you cut yours and it make sense! Thank you for this video!! you saved me!!
I have found that temp. And humidity effect the quality of the cuts.

So what cut setting and material does the cricut explore need to be on when cutting the black faux leather???
Hi. I’m a dummy!!! No wonder it didn’t work when I tried to make bows. I put the faux leather glitter side up. Lol

Intricate cuts are possible 🤗
I used your tips in this tutorial and played around with different blades, tools and settings until I figured it out.
Here’s what I did:
Tools:
-Cricut Maker
-Deep cut blade (Roland brand from Amazon- cheaper than Cricut brand and just as good)
-Strong grip mat (NICAPA brand from Amazon- cheaper than Cricut brand and better in my opinion)
-Strong-grip transfer tape (Cricut brand)
-Painters tape (Dollar Tree)
-Brayer (Cricut brand)
-Pointed, but dull tip tweezers
-Small tweezer type spatula tool (Cricut brand)
-Cuticle scissors (small, curved-blade scissors with sharp pointed tips)
-Hobby Lobby pebbled faux leather
-SVG: Tropical Monstera leaf image (Pinterest has some free options)
-Lighter
-Place the strong bond transfer tape with sticky side up onto your mat, remove paper from the sticky side after you place it
-Apply faux leather face down on top of your strong bond transfer tape (use a piece that’s just big enough for your image- (I leave about an inch parameter around the image)
-Apply painters tape around edges of faux leather
-Brayer faux leather and painters tape onto transfer tape/mat (apply a good amount of pressure)
-Use snap mat to insure your image is placed exactly where you want it on the mat
-Deep cut blade
-Settings: Denim, bonded; more pressure
-Cut one complete pass through (the denim, bonded setting automatically cuts twice)
DO NOT CLICK EJECT ARROWS!
Be careful not to disturb your mat too much, so you don’t off-set the next cut
-Click the “C” button again. This will cause the machine to go over your exact cut again (twice because of the denim, bonded setting).
-When the cut is finished, without clicking the eject button, make sure that your faux leather is cut, cleanly. If you do have a clean cut, click eject arrows button
-Gently remove your cut image by using tweezers and the spatula-like tweezers. Be careful, the image is delicate and will tear easily
-Use cuticle scissors to cut out any tiny holes, edges, etc. that didn’t cut cleanly. The small curved blades are perfect to get into tiny spaces.
-Also, make all cuts/trims from the back side of the faux leather, not the front
-Use a lighter to gently go over fuzzy edges. (Heat a tiny bit at a time, it’s easy to over do it)
* I was able to make 1.5” monstera leaf earrings with these techniques
Do you use a deep cutting blade or the fine cut blade? I sent my hobby lobby faux leather through my explorer air 2 about 6 times and it still didnt cut all the way through. I took the blade out a couple times to sharpened it on some foil too
I had been having so many problems cutting my material. Thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome!
You can actually clean off your mat of the material with a lint roller 😊
Thank you so much for the video♥️ I’m a Cricut newbie and greatly appreciated the tips(I don’t sew so I didn’t know about heat &bond but I’m gonna have to get me some now ;) I’m looking forward to more videos I’m binge watching as we speak 😁♥️
I am so glad you found my channel!
Every time I cut the pebbled faux leather, the fabric lifts up off of the mat and gets caught in the blade. How do you prevent that from happening?
I have the same issues with iron-on material and have had great success with taping down with washi tape...even if I accidentally get the tape in the cutting zone, the washi is so thin that my Cricut just cuts right through without issue. Hope that helps 🤗
I've tried so many times to do pebbled leather and it never cut through no matter how many times I run over! What am I doing wrong I followed everything!?
Have you ever tried the rotary blade for the extra thin faux leather that bunch up with the fine point blade?
Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
I waiting for it to go on
sale.
Yes, definitely wait for the sale! It's every couple weeks.
It's on sale. 7/21
I’m wanting to start making these! Do you have to pay for cricut access to have the template/image?
That was a wonderful video! I almost passed it up because it was so long, but I watched every minute of it and learned a lot! Thank You!
Good video! Keep it up! Would you like to be UA-cam friends? :)
Another great video! Thanks for sharing your ideas. I have actually been working on a video using heat n bond also:)
I am starting to use it more and more instead of glue. I love it!
I just found this tutorial. What setting do I cut the turquoise Faux leather from Hobby Lobby. I have tried your settings and I m getting frustrated.
What Really is Faux Leather..lol
Glitter, fur, vinyl???
I've learned SO MUCH from your tutorials! Thank you 😊
Thanks so much for your comment.
I am a new subscriber. This was a great video. I appreciate you showing so many examples. It was very helpful. Thank you so much. Have a blessed day.
So glad it was helpful!
I purchased some of this ribbon because I thought it would make beautiful Travelers Journal Covers. I had trouble cutting it. I am going to try again using these tips. Thanks
Good luck!
I just picked up some Cricut faux suede; do you have any advice which side to place down on the mat? It is impossible to find any suede cutting videos!!
Is it Cricut brand faux suede?
My Inspiration Corner, yes, Cricut brand.

Hi. I put a link above for a dais sues Cricut video that I did in October. I put my faux sided on the mat with good side facing down.
I have no luck with any materials...only iron on and vinyl.
did you use the same material choice " shimmer leather" for all of them ?
I did use shimmer leather on them. Although with the thinner fabrics like the black one and the cheetah cloth-like fabric, I sometimes do the paper thin faux leather option. And for the thicker Hobby Lobby faux leathers, I have to select the More Pressure option and send it for a second pass by pressing the C button to do another cut before ejecting the mat.
Loved this video, thank you I would like to make tags for my crochet items, do you have a tutorial on engraving on the faux ribbon?
I haven’t had luck engraving on faux leather. You might consider ironing on HTV for your tags. Or even regular permanent vinyl
Has anyone had an issue, where they were able to cut their faux leather in their cricut machine and all of a sudden i can’t cut not one bow to save my life??? 😩😩😩😭😭😭 I’m hoping this video helps.
Great video. Very informative. However, my HL has discontinued the Faux Leather.. :(
This video is great.
Are you uaeing the fine point blade ?? Or do i need to purchase a deep cut blade ? Cricut exsporer 2 air
Thank you so much for your instruction. You have the best around. I am a new cricut maker owner. Thanks again!
Thanks!
I watched your video on the faux leather christmas tree and the buffalo plaid earrings and the material is slipping with my maker is cutting the tree. Help!!!
Have you put strong grip contact paper (sticky side up) on your mat under your faux leather? That really should do the trick.
I just started working with faux leather and have done some keychains.
I am trying to cut chunky glitter faux leather and one worked the over side the material bunched up when cutting teardrop only no centre accent.. would you help me on brain storming
Thumbs Up 👍 for Hobby Lobby
Thumbs down 👎 for Micheal’s
I’m new to making earrings!! I’ve also watched almost all of your videos on how to also tip & tricks!! I will be trying to make earrings for the first time today! I feel way more comfortable trying this now that I’ve watched & learned from you!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of earrings making with us!! Super excited to try & make mine!!
Thank you so much. You gave us so much information and tested various methods that are very instructional. Thank you.
Thanks Shirley!
I just ran across your video I'm interested in doing this project.
You did very well on your instructions and illustrations.
Love the idea of adding the plastic to the area not being cut especially when trying to line up your fabric.
I love doing that!
why wouldnt you use real leather? arent you embarrassed to be using so much plastic?.. how long are these used before they are thrown away?
What a coincidence...my faux just came from Hobby Lobby, I got the gold leopard. I was going to use mine for sewing as a trim to wallets, pocketbooks, etc. Would this work for those projects? Thank you
I would imagine it would work. I can’t remember the thickness of that one. Some may be too thin.
I use heat bond on the back of the leopard print and it cut beautifully without the frayed edges.
I love heat and bond!!
VERY HELPFUL!!!👏🏼👏🏼 I really appreciate your tips and tricks. Now I can get back to cutting out my earrings!! 🎉🎉I also subscribed and I'm looking forward to exploring your channel!!👍🏽👍🏽🙋🏻💜 TFS
I'm so glad! I'm so glad you found my channel.
I’ll try to cut some chunky glitter sheets in an upcoming project.
Thanks for the tips greatly appreciated. I have found a awesome way to clean up the fuzzies around the earrings. Some people cut them off. I use a battery powered mini lint shaver. Works wonderfully.
Very interesting tip! I am going to have to try this!
Seriously, I just bought one. So curious.
Someone had a tip to cut the faux leather twice, but you can't release the mat, you have to hit cut again and it works great.
What section is this sold in at Hobby Lobby? I am in PA and it is not in the Cricut section here.
It’s in the ribbon section at my Hobby Lobby.
Not sure if you have experimented material from hobby lobby almost has like a canvas backing.
what do you use to glue the front and back together?
When using glue, I use one of these two things:
amzn.to/2ZOeyJo
amzn.to/2WESYF4
More recently, I use Heat N bond and adhere the two pieces of faux leather together before I even cut it on my Cricut. I love this technique!

Thank you for sharing. This video has helped me so much.
So glad it was helpful.
Bring your leather down about 2 inches and you can see more of your cut before you remove the mat
Oh my gosh your video is awesome!!! i have watched several and just could not find one that helped my learn I hope to get to watch your others and future thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much I been using that faux from hobby lobby its kind of tricky. Can the sizzix be used for that faux leather. It might cut better.
Does any other store sell these ribbons?
Very interesting and informative video! Thank you!
Thank you so much for doing this video! You saved me lots of money just now with the transfer paper tip!
So glad it was helpful!
OMG you are so helpful . I followed your directions and had much success. Thank you so very much.
So glad it was helpful!
I feel like I learned so much! I’ve been doing faux leather earrings and sometimes I want to throw it all in the garbage. I knew about the heat and bond, but i never thought of htv! I 💯 will be watching your other videos and subscribed!
I am so glad the videos have been helpful!
I'm a newbie, but the foils work so well! I use the mini and the paper company glitter works amazing and it take seconds.
Love the video, very helpful. I just wish it was ALOT less wordy and more to the point.
Sorry about that
The silver pebble was awful! I made key fobs. I’m ordering from My Punk embroider $5 + rolls (think 12”x54”). I loved the Cricut faux leather for earrings.
Thank you for sharing your video, it has helped a lot!
Do you know if you can put infusable ink on the white leather?
I love your videos! Great information. Easy to understand. Very informative. Thank you. My question...Do you have a favorite material to work with in making the faux/leather earrings? I'd also be interested in combining mediums ( wood/leather. Do you have any videos for newbies to these techniques? Thank you :)
Thank you for this video! Is there another glue you like a lot? This fabric glue is out of stock.
Aleene's is another good glue. amzn.to/30z40wz
Lately I've been using Heat N Bond more often than glue.
amzn.to/3ho3ZTk
All of those are beautiful. I've used different ones of those from Hobby Lobby, and I fell in love with them and made earrings. And I used them to make my tumblers also. But I just wanted to say that you explained everything really good.
Please, please, please tell me which department you find the faux leather ribbon, today the staff at my Hobby Lobby had me back and forth around the store and I still couldn't find the faux leather ribbon. Thanks in advance!!!
It’s in with the spools of ribbon
@@myinspirationcorner4499Many Thank!!!!!
Also by the fabric and patterns
Thanks so much. Can't wait to shop, buy and create some cool leather, ahem faux leather earrings n bracelets
What a wonderful video! THANKS SO MUCH!
This was such a helpful video! Thank you!
It was a long video but you were very informative and helpful in so many ways. Thank you for this video. I had given up on the stretchy leather and the thinner stuff. Now I’m super inspired
