    I just saw a couple of videos where they used transfer tape on fuzzy side and place that side on mat. Then they duplicated each cut piece stacking right on top. So cutter made 2-4 passes especially on thicker leather. It made the cuts much cleaner and sharper. ☺️ But I really love your vids. Thank you for the help.

      Hi @ladilynne, any idea which transfer tape they used? 🙏

    Use the Purple super strong mat and bray your leather to the mat really well. It makes the mat a mess at the end but big deal, the leather does not move on the mat!!!!!! Works great for me. The braying is the most important part so it doesn't shift around during cutting!! Happy Crafting

    I also use the rolling cutter by Fiskars, it works perfect to cut clean edges on leather.....seriously a MUST HAVE!!!!!

      @@AppalachianHomeCo I understand....if I have too much coffee, forget it!!🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻‍♀️😉 However, a great hack for that is to use a wooden or straight edge ruler to guide one side! 🤍🙏🏼

    Can the rotary blade be used on the Explore Air 2 machine to cut leather?

    Do you have an idea of how thick, Or what ounce leather the cricket maker will cut up to?

    • @AppalachianHomeCo
      @AppalachianHomeCo  2 роки тому +1

      Hi I believe around 3-4oz. The leather you can purchase from Cricut is 3oz.

    Which Cricut model do you have or does it matter for cutting leather? Sorry I’m new to this?

    Thanks so much for the tips! I cut faux leather at the moment with my Cricut and learned to used the Canvas setting. It works like a charm.

    Thank you for this video! My friend asked if I could make this mask that is the Brown Eagle from LOTR I think. I found a pattern on Etsy but it includes tiny holes around the eyes to weave a visible string. I had my Cricut for over a year but have not tried the knife blade I bought yet nor leather. If you see this, do you think the little holes are possible or would they be problematic (for instance pulling the leather perhaps)? Thanks for any tips if you have any!

    • @AppalachianHomeCo
      @AppalachianHomeCo  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! It depends on how tiny the holes are, ...I bought a punch for doing tiny holes on leather so I usually don't try to cut them out with cricut. I think I got the punch from amazon.

    Hi, I just found your channel and it has been so helpful. Did you make a video of sewing the wallet? I am trying to make a wallet, but I am having a hard time with my sewing machine settings when I get to three layers of leather. I was curious what settings you used. Thanks!

      Hi! Thank you I'm so glad you enjoy my channel! I believe I used the 90/14 needle but my leather was really soft and pliable so you might need larger for tougher materials. I used a regular stitch but increased the length to about a 4. And sewed pretty slowly. Hope that helps!

    Would you cut cork vinyl or canvas the same way?

      @AppalachianHomeCo  3 роки тому +1

      Hi! You can cut thru cork, I have not tried canvas yet tho.

    Nice job Christy. I really like that wallet. Did you use any closure on it? I have some magnet closets but I’ve never used them.

    • @AppalachianHomeCo
      @AppalachianHomeCo  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you!! I didn’t use any closure, for this pattern the wallet stayed closed well. I really want to make a ladies wallet with hand stitching and maybe a rivet button clasp but I haven’t used the magnets before either.🤔

    I'm trying to cut genuine leather with the knife blade and my maker 3 will not detect the blade. I went through the Cricut troubleshooting and it's still not detecting it. Anyone have a solution?

    lol. this will NOT work for leather unless used only on very soft leather. Pls show it in use with bridle or vegan 3mm thick.
