with a cricut maker, set your material at medium garment leather 1.6mm, select more pressure, use the standard mat, use the knife blade, I did not use masking tape to secure, cut perfectly
I usually clean my blade in between passes, that stuff is super fuzzy! I haven’t found a cut that works, mine still moves around like crazy. I got a ton of it & I still can’t cut any 🙄
You threw it away before you watched the video, or after? If you have an older blade or used the blade on a bunch of vinyl recently, try removing the blade and cleaning it with a ball of tinfoil. Wad a ball of tinfoil up, press down on your blade housing and stab the blade into the tinfoil a bunch of times. 20 times or whenever you get tired of doing it. This will clean your blade and remove any residue or debris from previous projects off of your blade. Just be careful not to drop your blade, that can cause damage. I hope that helps!
@@letscreatewithkatrena3418 I threw it away before I watched the video. The blade was pretty clean until I started cutting the ribbon. I had to clean it between cuts. Thanks for the suggestions.
You're welcome!! Also you can try knife blade with Tooling Leather setting (thickest) and then watch as it cuts. It might not need all 16 passes. You can pause the machine and check to see if cut all the way through and then unload if cut. This is my favorite method for all materials. Although, not all pebbled faux leather is difficult like Hobby Lobby's.
Great suggestion! Thank you for sharing. Do you clean your blade with a ball of aluminum foil? I've been told that's a great way to clean your blade. Stab the blade into a ball of foil a billion times.
@@letscreatewithkatrena3418 after th he cricut finishes the cuts I remove the housing push the blade out and clean it with my fingers carefully. Lol. Replace it and let it cut a second time. You could use a napkin or a scrap of material. You will be surprised how much felt will build up with just one pass. Hope this helps
On the explorer I use bonded fabric. One pass. To keep the fabric in place I use smaller piece and hold it down putting the transfer tape as a base on the mat ( sticky side up so the fabric sticks to the transfer tape)
I had some of the soft light brown pebble like with the really soft cotton backing faux leather from hobby lobby that wouldn’t cut with anything!… This worked like a charm! Thank you! I also learned that the rotary blade doesn’t cut joined diamond shapes and keep it altogether!! 😂
I believe you are using the wrong blade. Try using Knife Blade: The extra-deep Knife blade slices through dense materials up to 2.5 mm thick with unprecedented ease and safety. its Ideal for cuts of moderate details in thicker materials. The blade you are using is the Fine-Point Blade.

I have just bought this, and I am so glad to see your video🥰
I'm glad I'm not the only one having problems with this faux leather. 🥴
Use rotary blade on denim setting . Cuts pretty much everything

I have had some luck with the rotary blade and using the canvas setting. I did need to make 2 passes and used the default pressure.
Since I've made this video, I've found that I like using the knife blade with the tooling leather setting (thickest one). Try that too!
Great video. I just threw this ribbon away cuz I couldn't get it to cut. I also cut it 3 times using the same setting with no luck.

Thank you so much, your video was very helpful

Just a suggestion. In between each full cut pill your blade out and clean it. The felt like material will wad up if you dont. Hope this helps

I have not had to use the tin foil trick yet because each time I clean the blade it works.
How do you clean your blade?

I discovered that if you just cut a piece of the material at the size you need, it will stay down better.
Yes! The more fabric on the mat, the more likely it will bunch up. Also it helps when your mat is super sticky. Thank you for sharing that tip!
I used heavy card stock and it cut it on the first cut

a trick : you can watch movies at KaldroStream. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Carlos Bode yea, been using kaldrostream for years myself :)
I use the fine point blade the more expensive one. It cuts mine fine but my blade is brand new and only use this for material.
I use the fine point blade on other pebbled faux leather too. That Hobby Lobby brand is very rubbery. I haven't used it in a long time.
I wonder if it’ll work better if you flip the fabric to other side n cut hmmm
Use the suede setting and rotary blade
Which mat? Do you put it face up or down? How much pressure and how many passes? Thank you.

Thanks, but the knife blade is only available for the cricut maker. This is a tough FL to use. Been trying different ways myself more than once.
