I hope your children and grand children know how blessed they are to have you. XOXOX
My husband’s grandfather popped popcorn every Sunday and the grandkids would visit to have some. It became our tradition.
As believers in Jesus, we don't celebrate Halloween any longer, but popcorn 🍿 balls ALWAYS sound yummy!
🍁Thanks for sharing,
🥀Miss Lori🍂
I don't either I'm glad to see others don't. We need to stay United and pray for the lost people Repent fast and pray Amen and Amen
I was raised as and still am a devout Christian. My father was a minister. As a child back in the 50’s I never recall anyone’s parents questioning if Halloween was okay for kids to participate in. Held true that we had Halloween celebrations both in homes and at school in Georgia and Tennessee. Then people suddenly decided Halloween should be regarded as something evil. I know it broke my nephew’s heart when his mom stopped Halloween when he was about 7 because he loved the costumes and trick or treating. He is over 30 now and he recently mentioned how much that hurt. God knows what is in our hearts. People certainly have a right to choose what they think is right and wrong. Some who consider themselves Christians don’t celebrate Christmas. We all know how commercialized it is and how little the birth of Christ has to do with most celebrations now, but having Christ in your heart then and at all times is what matters, I believe, whether or not you celebrate Halloween. Blessings on all of you.
Let me preface this by saying that I am NOT trying to "blow up" Miss Lori's wonderful UA-cam channel here (which I truly love), but I FEEL the need to tell my brothers & sisters in Christ the TRUTH concerning this unholy holiday that is still being observed & honored in the United States. We need to SERIOUSLY stop & consider what we are opening ourselves AND our precious children/grandkids up to when we willingly "choose" to participate in these events. Trust me, I literally did this for YEARS as a child & teenager. I loved trick- or- treating, watching scary movies ( or trying to), and even went to a few haunted houses! I use to say that Halloween was my FAVORITE holiday. After getting married, I dressed my children up in "innocent-looking" costumes as well as decorating our home with all the "cute", little ghosts, goblins & witches.... PLUS the carved jack-o'-lantern!And of course there were the years that we attended "churches" where there was ALWAYS good food, fellowship, fun and LOTS of Halloween candies/treats. Then---I got a wake-up call... Holy Spirit begin to nudge me into searching out the TRUE ORIGIN of this day called Halloween. I'll never forget the day that I HAD to be obedient to Jesus and sit my 6 y.o son & 8 y.o daughter down and TRY to explain why we would no longer be celebrating this day ever again. I'll not lie...it was tough 😔. But once I broke it down using God's Word they actually begin to understand, bless their hearts & praise the Lord!
If you're struggling with this issue and are a true believer in Jesus, simply ask Him how He feels about partaking in these activities. I personally no longer desire participating in ANYTHING that brings any glory to the enemy!!!
I TRULY believe that as a nation we have been incredibly deceived, especially The Body of Christ. The Word says in Hosea 4:6 KJV
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me:, etc.
I'm going to stop here, but I will leave a few more scriptures from Our Heavenly Father concerning this matter:
1Thessalonians 5:22 KJV
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
1Corinthians 6:20 KJV
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
1John 2:15 KJV
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Last personal comment: I know many may feel that this is going way too far, but NEVER forget that we really do have an enemy of our soul that LOVES the fact that we are so ignorant & blind concerning his evil, wicked ways.
God's Word says in
Proverbs 25:2 KJV
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.
(That means us Church)
Revelation 1:6 KJV
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
PLEASE...do some research on the TRUE ORIGIN of Halloween and search this matter out... your souls & your children's souls matter 😌.
🍁🍃Be blessed🍂🍃
@@tonyacrisp8844 you need to relax. We're here for the recipe. Keep church talk in church. This from a christian as well.
Memories of Grandma, when our grandma passed away I brought some little grandchildren to my house to make home popcorn balls in memory of her, she made them every Halloween 🎃
Happy a Birthday to Mr. Brown and Happy Anniversary to the best couple ever!
You brought back a wonderful memory from my childhood! Momma made these on Saturday nights in the dead of winter in cold dreary Ohio. She said the molasses contained iron. We'd sit in front of a black & white TV and watch the Saturday night movie. After this hard week that I've thus far, this brings great joy! Yes, I think Momma used 4 quarts of popcorn but she too used Grandma's molasses too. Thank you for this special memory.
When I was a kid, I loved popcorn balls - but the white Karo kind. I asked a lady from our church for her recipe, and she gave it to me. It was hand written, and I still have it all these years later. Thanks for bringing back that memory.
Loved the whole video today with the popcorn balls to the wonderful fine you got and decorated. It so fits in that spot. Thank you for all the recipes you share with everyone. God Bless you and Mr. Brown.
Thanks so much!
Mama just buttered her hands before rolling each ball.
Oh what precious memories! My grandmaw made popcorn balls f or us kids every year. 😊 I can still smell her kitchen and couldn't wait to go by her house. 😍❤❤❤❤
Back in my days I loved getting popcorn balls. It was a great thing
How lovely a find. You know somebody cherished that and I’m glad you found it as I know you will cherish it also. God bless. I just love ya all. So thankful I found you
My mom used to make these for us when we were kids. This video brought back good memories of my childhood.
My Grandma, a Christian saint and farmer's wife, made popcorn balls every Halloween/Harvest. I loved them. She and my Grandma made Sorghum Molasses. I would bet these are awesome too! I LOVE the wooden box and all. 💞 Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday!!
Yumminess
Oh miss Lori ❤I just know those grandkids love having a sweet grandma like you💞👩🦳I know some of my greatest memories were spent at my grandma Mae's 💞She always made special treats and meals for us! I hope I'll be blessed someday to be a sweet cool grandma 💞 I'm gonna make these popcorn balls for my kiddos I've got all the ingredients 🤗Thank you for sharing all these awesome recipes !! God bless ✝️
Mrs. Lori, you make everything fun, beautiful, and good. Love the trunk.
Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday Mr. Brown and a Happy Birthday to your granddaughter!!
My Mom made molasses popcorn balls. I have not had any of hers in years. Thank you for the memories you gave me! Love your flea market finds!❤😢😊

Ms Lori,
You have such a beautiful eye for design!!!! I could watch you arrange Knick knacks all day! Such a talent!
My grandmother used to make popcorn balls at Christmas. She would put peanuts in some of them! I can really getting my hands buttered up and helping her! Those were such good memories! Love the trunk! I love old things!
Back in 1955 or so, (I would have been 8 yrs old). My mother & her friend ,& her two girls would come over to our house the day before Halloween & while us girls played & had a great time, mother & her friend made popcorn balls for our school Halloween party. My father owned a Theater & would pop all the popcorn there & bring it home in big boxes. Of course that was lots of work, but great fun for us girls. GREAT MEMORIES. THX 🤗 I lived in Nevada MO, & the 2 room school house was only 3 blocks away. One room was grade 1 through 4 & the (big room) was 5 through 8
Lovely video with lovely music playing at the end ❤️ 🎶
And I love your shirt 😍
My momma always took us trick or treating at a friends house that always gave molasses popcorn balls. We always asked for an extra one for her. You brought back a long lost memory.
I like the old fashion popcorn ball
Brought back a sweet memory of my Mom making these when I was a young one! She went to be with the Lord this week.
So sorry about your mom. It is so hard losing our mothers. May The Lord wrap his loving arms around you & your family & bring you all strength, peace & comfort. Hugs🥰
Happy Anniversary, you two lovebirds! Many wish they could have a marriage like you two. Happy Birthday, Mr Brown & granddaughter! I hope everyone has many more years together. Those popcorn balls look delish! When I was young, our neighbor always gave out popcorn balls at Halloween. Her house was one of the first we went to because we wanted to make sure we got one, in case she ran out. That trunk fit that space just like it was made for it. Love how you decorated it. Just a suggestion, but throw an old doily or dish towel over the paper plates. They just don’t seem to fit with the style. I hope this finds you & Mr Brown healthy & happy. I’m so glad you & Ms Vicki had a good visit. I hope she made it home safely. 🙏Philippians 1:3🙏 Blessings, Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas. 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍❤️🥰🙏🙏🙏
Happy birthday Mr. Brown, happy anniversary to you both, and happy birthday to the grandbaby
Happy Anniversary! Happy Birthday to Mr Brown and granddaughter!

Luv the trunk--ppl 4get that--"olden finds" are such a treasure==
Oh yes, loved these as a child! The old trunk you found at the flea market looks as if it was made for that exact spot you placed it in. And, I LOVE the way you group items together perfectly. You have a knack for balance and beauty, Ms. Lori!
What a WONDERFUL video! Thanks so much for sharing the recipe for the molasses balls. They looked scrumptious! And even the way you wrapped them up; the packaging was really pretty. I also enjoyed watching you decorate that old trunk. You've got such a wonderful gift for decorating and designing. Makes your home so beautiful. God bless, girl.
Thank you so much, xoxoxo
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MISS LORI AND MR. BROWN...!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO Y'ALL'S GRANDBABY TOO...!! 🎂🍰🥧🍨🍧🍦🎈🎁🎉❤

I FORGOT HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. B AND HAPPY ANNIVERSERY!!! YOUU TWO LOOK LIKE A HAPPY COUPLE AFTERT THE TIME YOU BEEN TOGETHER
Enjoyed. The popcorn balls look so delicious! I haven't had a molasses one in years. Brought back good memories. Your little trunk is really nice, I had to laugh though because I said to myself Miss. Lori will move that a few times and redecorate it a dozen (lol). It was fun to see what you used it as. God bless you both.
The perfect spot for it!❤️❤️❤️
Brings back so so many good memories. We use to only get this at Christmas time but we used 6 to 8 quarts of popcorn. With 16 kids it had to go around but we each got some and that was all that counted!
Wow! Thank you so much , Miss Lori! So many memories wrapped up in those popcorn balls! I had all but forgotten these wonderful treats! A neighbor would make them every year for trick or treaters - when you live out in the country ya don't get many little spooks visiting on Halloween, so we always got 3 or 4 of this wonderful popcorn balls for each of us! Thanks again - love your content and I enjoy stopping by and visitin' with you! God Bless you and Mr. Brown!
Yep it was my favorite too growing up, we didn't get store bought candy.
Ones I ate was light color. Thanks for prayers , felt better today on breathing. Ok , reason it's dark. Can tell these are made with love!
Happy Birthday to Mr. Brown and the granddaughter. And Happy Anniversary, too. Just a kitchen hint...whenever I have a jar of something as an ingredient and am using the whole jar (as with the molasses), and there is water in the recipe also, I will empty the jar of the ingredient into the bowl or pan. Then fill the jar with the amount of (warm or hot) water specified. Shake the jar a couple of times, then pour the water into the recipe. This will get all of the goodness out of whatever ingredient was in the jar, without having to scrape the jar out.
I love your new flea market find. It has so many possibilities. I'm living with my son and his family and they just don't appreciate any of that good old stuff like I do, so I love to watch your videos and I just kind of live through you.
Oh Ms. Lori, I just love old trunks❤️!! Yours is lovely.
The interior decorators have nothing over your decorating! My Grandma is 100 this past June and she always made popcorn balls at. Halloween. The neighborhood kids loved it and so did we! Thank you for sharing this with me! Best to Mr. Brown and you. Your trunk looks so wonderful! Love and God bless!
God Bless your Grandmother, xoxoxo
Beautiful wooden trunk. I love it!❤️
Your like me... got to rearrange things to get it right. I don’t know how many times I’ve rearranged my kitchen to get it right and get more in the small kitchen. I am always rearranging things.
That's the kind of molasses I use for my ginger bread cookies. Every time I smell molasses it reminds me of being a kid, my daddy would get molasses in what looked like a small paint can. Delicious with butter and biscuits.
It was meant just for that corner. With tasteful decorations. My day will even be brighter with a signed autograph of your forth coming cook 📖.
I'm working so hard on it, taking so long
Love love love your new old trunk! If you’re anything like me, you’ll be changing pieces all the time....looks nice & homey.
Lori I really enjoyed seeing you make this recipe....That wooden trunk is so neat! I love how you arranged different items on it. It looks great with your jars and bottles on top and inside of it!
One of my earliest memories of Christmas at my grandparents farm back in the 60s when I was just 3 or 4, my Nana made popcorn balls as a treat for us. She used Karo syrup so the coating was clear. It was the first time I’d ever had one and I can still remember exactly how it tasted! Nana and Grandpa gave my sister and me dolls as our presents. Mine had brown hair and a pink dress, and my sister’s had blond hair and a blue dress. We loved those dolls until their hair was just about gone! What I wouldn’t give to spend just an hour with Nana and Grandpa again in that old farmhouse. Thanks for bringing back that precious memory! Maybe I’ll make some molasses ones myself.
Happy anniversary, happy birthday Mr. Brown and happy whatever else i have missed
My oldest son commented in passing he wanted some molasses popcorn balls, something I grew up with and then made for mine when they were young. No coincidence, your timing is right on Miss Lauri. God bless you and yours always🍁
Oh good! Xoxoxo
I love the wooden trunk I love the way you put everything to gether love love 💘 💕 ❤
LOVE LOVE LOVE the old trunk and how you have used it!
Love watching you arrange your goodies. I call mine vignettes, which is French for making a little story from objects. I'm in Canada. I've collected tins for 40 years. My favorite are baking tins, they're so pretty and colorful.
Happy Anniversary & Happy Birthday to Mr Brown, and your granddaughter! I love Autumn and all the celebrations heading into winter. It is such a cozy time, snuggling in w/a good book & warm fire, cooking, falling leaves. :)
I've never made popcorn balls. May just have to try these. 😋 The wooden box is cool! Esp the way the top opens & you decorated it so nicely. Bless ya'll
Love your new wooden box. Thanks for being kind to the portrait of that beautiful cow. Mom use to make the popcorn balls with Karo syrup. They were good but I'll have to try your recipe.
A belated, Happy Anniversary!. Molasses Popcorn Balls look delicious. And I love the trunk, what a great idea to use it in the kitchen.
Happy harvest, birthdays and anniversary. Thanks for the video it brought back memories my grandma used to make popcorn balls for the trick or treaters! She would go to the orchard and buy a lot of apples and everyone got a choice. You can imagine the popcorn balls were always the first to run out. Even though she used to have hundreds of little ones come by we always had apple pies after Halloween. May God continue to bless you and yours.
I love the popcorn 🍿 😋 balls I remember making this when I was small
Oh yum! This is the way my grandma made them, such wonderful memories. The molasses taffy pulls, brought all the cousins together at grandpa n grandma’s house....the joy of memories, you have just made waking up this morning such joy. Thank you.
@@MrOldclunker , let me search a bit and get back with you. I am one of the youngest grandchildren and admitting that I am now 74 and counting should alert you to the fact that all the aunts and uncles and most cousins are no longer with us, but I seem to remember my aunt compiled a recipe book of grandma’s recipes. I will see if I can track it down.
Sadly I have not found her recipe, but I looked on You Tube and Google and found several that remind me of hers. She used vinegar in her recipe and maybe soda. Mostly I remember the major ingredient was molasses, and the buttered hands we slathered ourselves in and picking a cousin partner to “pull” the taffy ropes and stretch them. Of course eating the taffy was the best part of all.
Love the old wooden trunk and the way you decorated it!
Another great 👍 find Mrs Lori. It looks great
Happy anniversary!! Happy birthday Mr. Brown and the granddaughter !
Thank you!
Sounds yummy!!! Happy Birthday Mr. Brown and Happy Anniversary! LOVE your decorating style, very much like my own!
I know this is an older one, but my first time seeing it. That trunck was an awesome find. You fixed it real cute too. I told my husband that's how i like to do things. Stuff I use. & it's handy. When I was a kid I got popcorn balls for trick or treat. We got home made goodies. Apples & oranges. Candied apples. I loved that stuff.
I want to make these, it will be so fun with the grandkids! You have such nice things in your house, makes your home so comfortable looking. I love the song you put in this video!! Thank you Miss Lori!
The trunk looks like it has always been there. Mrs Lori you have a knack for that kind of thing. Wish I was better at it.
My wife loves your apron! 🎁Happy Birthday &💐 Happy Anniversary too!
My children will love this thank you again
My grandmother made popcorn balls with Steen's syrup, so good! Love the black & white curtains!
Beautiful piece of wood! Love your videos!💖
Merry Christmas to you and your family. My grandma lived on the blue ridge mountains. I used to spend my summer vacation with her. She passed in 1974 from stomach cancer. We used to have Kari syrup and butter biscuits. But she made popcorn balls like this when it was snowing outside. I just cried like a baby with sweet memories just now. You have some blessed kids and grandkids.
Thank you so much for your videos.
Merry Christmas!
Thank you, God Bless, Merry Christmas 🎅
Lovely, lovely addition to the ambiance of your kitchen!
Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe with us Miss Lori.
Hey Y’all! Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary! Haven’t seen the Popcorn balls in years
Oh my that looked really nice. I decorate just like that and I love it. and your popcorn balls I'm going to make them for my Grandkids real soon. thank you for sharing your recipe. when I buy something really worn and used people always say, what do you see in that old thing? I say beauty , can't you see it? no they can't. but when I'm done they love it. I love the way your home looks so much like a big hug.
I love your trunk!! You have such a way of bringing old items to life and giving them a purpose. And, I have everything in my pantry to make these popcorn balls, think I will give them a try.
Ms Lori, thank you so much for the recipe for popcorn balls. My Granny made these for us at Halloween, back in the day when you could give out homemade treats. We looked forward to them each year. I hope you make the molasses cake. That was one of my most favorite cakes that she made. We called it lassie cake! I can almost taste it now! Have a wonderful day! Thanks for the memories that you rekindle!
Those popcorn balls look amaz za zing!! I wonder if you could make even more than 4 qts of popcorn for the same amount of syrup and not have as much coverage of the popcorn but still stick together well? Plus, Miss Lori you have quite the knack for putting an area together so beautifully! God bless love ya! Shirley
My dad mentioned molasses popcorn balls tonight and I'm so glad to have found your video. Thank you for sharing this recipe! I loved hearing your instructions and comments. You remind me of my dear aunt, Christine!
I love your trunk, so lucky to have found such a wonderful piece! Thank you so much for the popcorn ball recipe, my Mom used to make us the ones with the corn syrup, and they were so good!! Can't wait to make some of the molasses balls for my Grandchildren.
This brings back happy memories of making popcorn balls at Halloween with my Grandma in the Missouri Ozarks! The trunk was an awesome find and I love that you're as OCD as I am about placement!
My Gramma used to make these popcorn balls for Halloween kids for trick or treating. But on the farm they used bacon grease for cooking and always Popped the. Popcorn in bacon grease. Then when forming the popcorn balls you would first rub the palms of your hands with real butter so the popcorn balls wouldn't stick. Which added to the flavor. Oh this brings back fond childhood memories! That was 45 years ago. 😀👍🐴
Good memories, xoxoxo
LOVE the trunk & what a perfect size & place to put it !
❤ i love your fleamarkets you always find the best treasures god bless
Sure brought back memories, loved going to Aunt Roberta's house on Halloween, she gave out huge popcorn balls. Yummy

Miss Lori, I am blind, so I wouldn’t even attempt to make these popcorn balls, but my mouth was watering the whole time I was listening to you make them! I sure wish you’d let me know who is your intro music… I absolutely love it! Happy belated anniversary! And happy birthday to Mr. Brown! Y’all be blessed as always!
Thank you Sweetie, the name is Sugar pines, not sure is the Artist, xoxoxo

@@WhippoorwillHoller - Dear Miss Lori: thank you for another wonderful vlog! The popcorn balls look amazing - I will be making these this week - you hv really got my sweet tooth activated! You do exactly what I do frequently - move & dust my antique bottles, vases, bowls etc. as I add to my collection - I can always find something on sale as antique stores are continually trying to move the items they’ve had around too long making room for more! This music at the end of popcorn vlog gives me chills - it’s so beautiful - thank you for adding this. Wish you were my neighbour/friend - how lucky I would be! Loving your vlogs so much. Thanks for sharing Mrs. Lori, we really enjoy your videos. Love this time of the year, I remember my granny cooking in her kitchen especially all her special unique goodies from Oct. through the end of Dec through the holidays. Now I’ve been blessed with an amazing wife that can really cook, bake or whatever she wants to do in the kitchen and we love the smells in her kitchen this time of the year especially. Hope you have a blessed day. 🙏🏻👍🏻😇
I used to say something like that to my grandma because at my house we used the microwave, so it was always special to eat that old fashion popcorn made on the stove top 🤗😄
Today, I make popcorn for my family the old way by using the stove top! 🤗
Great video ❤️
