Lets be honest - MLS teams are highly overvalued. DC united is valued more than Brighton, despite Brighton having 3x more operating income???... personally i dont watch MLS. if youre a soccer fan, the product is crappy at best, and leaves you annoyed. And with the free apple pass i still dont watch it. Certain games even if you gave me the tickets for free, i wouldnt go cause its such a waste of time. And what hear from this, essentially MLS isnt for the soccer enthusiast or team fans like most other leagues. Clearly whats driving valuations is entertainment seekers, not folks who actually care about production on the field. My question is how long can that last? Say Real Madrid. What drives them is global distribution to fans all over the world. Where I will give her credit tho, DC seems to be the best on operating margin at nearly 12%.

For how long have those leagues you talk about been active? Give them time... They'll get there...

@@oraach go to a shit restaurant and pay for the food, get sick, and keep going. Theyll get there….
Very intelligent way to do business.

MLS has been here for quite some time now so it will only continue growing. And yes she literally said the target audience is Families first & Entertainment seekers 2nd and football enthusiasts last. Comparing Real Madrid to any MLS clubs is just a waste of time , European clubs value different things.

Simple formula: crappy product on field, leverage loyal fans to the breaking point and make a deal with a repressive regime for cash influx.

I could see if this was Chicago or New England with a crappy product. Dc United is middle of the pack…. Not sure your description is accurate here.

@@02nupe If you watch other soccer leagues, there no way you can say its not a crappy product. Even just watch the games in person, ik for me im just left more frustrated than anything else

This sounds more to do with a player acquisition standpoint rather than overall business operations. At the end of the day, you have to do your best even if the product is still developing and seemingly nascent in comparison to legacy leagues like the premier league.
I’d be more inclined to watch the MLS than the Brazilian league even though we know Brazilians are really talented in general. I know more MLS teams than Brazilian teams. So awareness is very important too, and the lady here gave clear insight to who fits into that spectrum currently for them.
