I don’t believe the inner primary cover will allow the tranny to move forward. That might be possible with the shovel heads or the typical thicker, exposed belt drive. Thanks for the comment.
Since everything comes out together do you really need to remove the clutch plates? Great video, I’m getting ready to do tackle this job in a few days.
@@martymcfly6098. It might come out all in one piece. Ive never even considered it lol. The bike is leaning and the plates slide right out. I needed them out of the way. They’re real easy to replace…just don’t have the bike leaning lol. Happens to be the easiest clutch I’ve ever worked on. Best of luck 👍
Thanks for posting this video. I too have been searching everywhere to learn how to remove the BDL belt clutch due to leaking trans gaskets. One thing to note is when it’s time to reinstall those pulleys BDL explicitly states to use red loctite on both sets of pulley gears. They state it’s to ensure it doesn’t come loose. And that’s why it’s so darn hard to remove! Thanks again for this video! Now I just need to get working on a custom pulley device. 🤦🏻♂️ Never ending lol
There’s was a reason for removing the jam nut , I forgot it and the bolts I used to pull the pulley were five inches long and a quarter inch thick.
