I remember how a server I used to play on handled the EULA issues. Instead of directly allowing the purchase of items, they allowed people to buy cosmetic crate keys. Gave no advantage. Purely cosmetic. Of course you could exchange those keys for ingame points. Those points could then be used to purchase items. They switched from “ranks” to “titles”. I think, or something similar. I think this was just to avoid the aspect of a increasing level of superiority (from the outside). They had donation tiers with almost nothing on the surface to show for - except monthly discord calls. Some of these tiers had people donating hundreds of dollars a month. The issue was the ulterior motive behind donating. Now if someone is donating hundreds a month, you’d want to keep them happy and around to continue their donations. That’s the problem right there. The more people donated, the more leeway they got with the admins. Ban reversals, claims getting transferred, OP items given out, looking the other way when players were duping those OP items (to then sell for IRL $), etc. Players became untouchable. People raided the server for irrational reasons and Horizon took no responsabilitty for what he did to a innocent server (it isnt even pay to win anymore, as if it was pay to win to begin with). Anyways I am still somewhat mad at what he did when this is brought up, while i dont support p2w. I dont support the way anti p2w took this either.
I think it's a good thing that the players are fighting back against these paid to win servers when what the paid to win servers are doing is arguably illegal and absolutely immoral.
When I saw the horizon pop up I was like oh HELL YEAAAHHHH
I have never even played multiplayer, and this part of Minecraft’s current history is so fascinating that I put up with a T2S voice for 25 minutes just to learn more about it.
Bruh I remember how I broke a servers economy by buying blaze rods and selling blaze powder in a store where nobody else had noticed the pricing made profit, and became the richest player many times over within hours, before just building extravagant rich places to be griefed and torn down and stolen "accidentally". Money go brrr
I was on autoplay and I literally thought this video was made by internet historian based on the intro. Amazing work.
Anti P2W is great and should be a thing for all servers
if parents filed a report to police regarding credit card fraud, I bet the Pay2Win servers would stop their predatory methods.
FitMC is the ultimate troll and everyone loves him. He is a cool dude.
Holy shit my comment is in a video! Thank you so much for using it, that just made my day.
this gives me huge internet historian vibes and i love it.
My thumbnail made it to the video 17:45 POG
That intro was smoother than a smoothie
I remember seeing one of The Horizon's videos on them crashing a p2w server and some of the comments had threads: Those who called them heroes had comment threads calling them horrible people since they played on those servers since they played next to their lag machines.
IGBLON: P2W can get away with this
Hackers: oh i dont think so
I’m loving this war vs p2w Minecraft side of UA-cam so much
11:36 Actually, the first video on Sal's channel about duping on a P2W server was SkittleMC in dec 6, 2018. Probably a worse example tho cause it was a bit earlier than the timeframe i assume you wanted
Thats probably why he said "one of the first".
Loving the Seattle kraken stadium background
I GO BY LOTS OF NAMES UPLOADED POG

The only thing more criminal than p2w servers is that this channel isn’t more popular . Keep up the good work
The one thing is if they have a personal site to sell stuff you just need to target their money transactions by taking out the site.
"recently" it's been happening for ages.
My happiness when igblon uploads: GAS GAS GAS
It might be possible to create a backdoored plug-in, trick a server owner into using it on their server and take a server down from the inside
And let's not forget this anti p2w movement also brought back one of the greatest griefers known in minecraft history

Those stock photos will be so nostalgic 20 years later
Dude, you have such a great video editing style, I legitimately got myself laughing out loud at some of the visual gags featured (my favorite one being the car doing a full 180 turn).
War? No, you misunderstand. This is no war. This is a crusade. A maelstrom of sound and fury tearing through a coastal town. Unstoppable, inevitable.
the one dislike is thedupertrooper
That wouldn’t make sense though? He is just informing people of the “war” and isn’t bias, he just said what people are fighting against pay to win servers and never said anything bad about them
The eula was the thing that saved them, after a certain update they made it so u cant sell in game items for irl money
In my opinion, ranks should be very cheap and give you cool effects and stuff, but not give you a gameplay advantage.
why did i see a body pillow, is that the representation of minecraft community?makes sense
It's a representation of the people running the P2W servers I think.
@@dogzrule1551 oh yeaaa
the astolfo body pillow lol
That’s actually a best body pillow
The best kind of pillow
These 2 replies are pog
Agreed, the best kinda pillows
Goated Body Pillow
You are legit the Minecraft internet historian
This is a compliment btw
Your not copying him
Your have your own style
But you have some similarities
I feel like skyblock isn't p2w for one main reason that there are in-game coin griding methods that make loads more than most ordinary jobs would by spending all the money from them on gems.
Ooh more Minecraft documentaries!
0:57 i see a man of culture
TODAY IS A GREAT DAY BC IGBLON UPLOADED
the intro of this is so clean, deserves a like
Lmao, hypixel be like: Yea you can pay for in game advantages and buy items that can be immediately traded for ingame money but we dont care
@@smolmen7674 "it's easy to get anyway" yea no shit lmao I grab mommy's credit card buy 48 cookies and then get some of the best gear on the server.
"Oh b-but stats and levels" its 100x easier to level stats when you can buy 20 maxed minions, a gearset, and a pet to power level a skill for 3 weeks and make a net profit from the earnings even without reselling the minions when you're done.
@@smolmen7674 I'm not talking about a steady source of income shitnuts, I'm talking about how a new player can skip a month or more of progression by just buying items with IRL money to sell, and the fact that players are told to do so by high level players if they ask in the hub/lobby
By this logic, 2b2t is p2w.
@@sumguy8939 queue skip isnt the same as literally paying real life money for in game currency
@UCxz_1hIbRhCcdFeWHWbrq7g on 2bt2 it is player to player trading, on hypixel you literally pay on the server shop for items to immediately flip for in game currency.
The beginning transition is so smooth for no reason lol
The way the pay to win is being managed by players is far superior to having daddy mojang doing it
Love the content, and the effort you put in
Lmao the astolfo body pillow doe
Dude, your content is so great and idk why you don't have over 1 mil
