Everything I used in the video is linked in the description including the etching cream. No it doesn’t wash off it’s actually changing the glass it’s not just something that sits on top of it. The cream is a chemical that eats away at the glass to create the etch
You create your design with your text and then do exactly what I show here. However text on shot glosses is extremely difficult because it has to be very small and it can be difficult to read once etched

Fun fact: it smells like rotten eggs because it’s sulfuric acid (sulfur is produced when eggs rot) and a few additives 😊
