I normally leave Armour Etch on for 25-30. To me the time on bottle isnt enough and leaving it on longer makes the design pop a lil more. Great video. Have a great day/ week. Take care & happy crafting
I have found that dabbing blobs of the etching cream works a lot better than brushing it. Brushing it has a tendency to cause light & dark areas in it. but if you just kind of blob it and use more of a pushing motion than a stroking motion, you get a better coverage without the light and dark areas. This works especially well when you have a large open area. Such as what you had on the man swinging the golf club. Smaller areas such as the letters, you don't notice it quite as much, but whenever there's a big open area I just blob and push and try not to brush. I've never used the circuit so I'm really thinking of investing in one of those because I like making my own designs rather than always buying from etchworld. Thank you for your video.
I think yours turned out as well as can be expected. Etching takes a manual etching to truly be etched/thus the name. For a chemical etching with a fine line it turned out amazing.
Awesome tutorial lady! It's also cool that you show the mistakes....I probably wouldn't have so I appreciate it. Regarding adding color, I have used spray paint with great success!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I definitely wanna get into this. I always wondered how they design these glasses like that. Now i know. I just gotta buy the Armour Etch. Already have it in my Amazon shopping cart.
Did the same thing ending with either the spotty looking results or the paint peeling. Very frustrating causing me to use half of the rub and buff because of redoing the project over and over again. For these colored etched items to sell, perfection is necessary. I did let the etching cream stay on for 30 minutes and loved results. The last attempt with acrylic paint left on for a night only to get a foggy color result. Any helpful tips will be greatly appreciated.
You can get the rub and buff off with a magic eraser. Trust me I've had a few rounds with rub and buff. Magic eraser is the way to go! It will bring your original etch back
@kevinrandomly643 Jennifer Maker mentioned in her video to bake it on 350f for 1 hour. It’s on her video named “The best color etching on glass” video.
Same. Rub n buff ruined my glass project. I noticed that there are 2 types of gold. I think I bought the antique gold. Maybe the other gold shade would work better? I’ve also seen projects using rub n buff and they’ve turned out great.
Yes!! Sadly, it just doesn’t work that great. I looked at other options for coloring the etching and they seemed to have worse results lol I’ll just stick to the plain etching!
@@KaylasCricutCreations I saw a video yesterday where they used oil based paint pens and then bake it for an hour so that the paint stays put. She used multiple colors on one glass and it looked pretty good...but I haven't tried it yet. Have you heard of that?

Thank you so much for the tip! I definitely can see that working better. Thank you for watching and take care!! ❤
It’s good to see someone so good humble enough to also show their mistakes. Such a great tutorial. Thank you!!!

I've put glass paint on after etching. Works pretty good.

Thank you so much!! That means a lot!
I actually like the etched glass better than the gold on top. TFS

Can you explain the spray paint process? Would love to try
Thanks so much for the Lesson Kayla!! I have watched other videos, trying this to no success.. :(
You can remove the stencil before using the Rub n buff. The Rub n buff will only stick to the etched area.

I bought the Amour Etch and it works beautifully
I will post pics of my project after I do it as you advised .. Thank You! 😇😃
I just etched a beer mug for Fathers Day. I wished I would have seen this before as the svg would have been perfect. Will save for next year! 😂
It looks way better without any color. 🙂
THANK YOU for all your videos its helped me so much on my crafting ❤
What about mix the gold pain with the edge and then apply it on the glass?
I love the fact that you showed your error and tried again
Excellent Video, GOD BLESS THANK YOU

Rub n buff works great if it is used with a etching machine
Another great video!! Thanks so much!
Thanks for watching!
Great project and tips

Good to know!!! Thank you for the tip!
Yeah!!!!!!so many people arent wearing their mask when they should.
SO important! I don’t always see people recommending how to safely use it which is kind of scary!
I think it looks great

I didn’t know you could get gold leaf in a tube 😮😮

So cool❤❤❤ thank you
Thank you for watching! ❤
What is the name of paint please !? Thank you for the video 🤗
Is there a way to seal this so it's food safe?

Mam i want logo for business...tell me after printing my logo on printer how to make round sticker on cricket maker 3
Why when I click make it it doesn’t it show my mat on the screen 🙄
❤❤❤
What program do you use?
I'm a beginner, can the template be paper instead of vinyl?
I think the etching cream would go through the paper so I think you’d want to stick with vinyl but I haven’t tried it.
Use Stickers!! @@KaylasCricutCreations
I tried this same method and rub & buff ruined the whole project 😢
Sad!! I’ve seen some people be successful with it and I’m wondering what they are doing right?! Lol

@@KaylasCricutCreations I tried several different things yesterday and discovered that if you use a thin font...it looks much better!!
I’ve completely quit using Rub N Buff for the same reason…it looks too crappy to try & sell lol
