@@jettywetty9398 It had nothing what so ever to do with what that. He was simply an outstanding comedian and actor with an utterly unique mastery of his craft. When we are born is an utterly arbitrary lottery. Attributing people's accomplishments to the motion and position of celestial bodies as viewed from Earth's perspective at the time of their birth is an insult to the blood, sweat, and tears they poured into achieving them. To say the Robin Williams' talent was due to him being a "Cancerian" is tantamount to spitting on his memory and I will not stand for that. I have no issue with people foolishly thinking their own lives are dictated by these ludicrous falsehoods, to each their own and whatnot, but take your snake oil elsewhere.
I yelled Good morning Vietnam at cosmetology school when I walked in the door this morning.. my executive director/friend started bussing out laughing. That made my day... 💞 thanks Mr. Robin Williams
story time: when this movie was being made, robin williams was asked to come up with some vietnam jokes, the director told him to just film himself making as many jokes as he could. robin then proceeded to make that tape, which consisted of 25 HOURS OF CONSECUTIVE VIETNAM JOKES. robin williams was truly a brilliant man. it saddens me so much to see how much this man was suffering, he managed to entertain millions of people and make so many happy while he himself was struggling so deeply. he literally could not go more than 6 months without checking himself into a mental hospital. when he would make the brilliant jokes that we all know and love, it pained him, because he simply could not stop, rambling on and on. Shortly before his death, robin was diagnosed with Lewy's, which is a very very aggressive form of dimentia, and as sad as it is, he didn't want to watch, and more importantly he didn't want his fans to watch him wither away. Robin Williams with forever remain one of my greatest heroes, RIP to you, who has changed my life so much, and may gods love be with you.
If that is indeed the case, and the reason for it, then i am ok with Robin doing what he did. I would do the same thing. No hesitation or questions asked And before you rain Hell down on me, for my apparant heartlessness and maliciousness, consider this. If you were given the following choices: 1: Dying in a matter of seconds or minutes at most. 2: slowly, but absolutely, losing your personality. Losing your memories. losing everything that made you the person you are today. And eventually losing control of your body, and of everything else. One day at a time. For months, or years, at a time Withering away to the point of dying THEN finally dying Which among those would *you* choose? (Anybody here that has worked with those cursed with altzheimers & dementia know what I'm talking about) I have always been a believer in merciful deaths. If someone faces a slow and agonizing end to their life, or will otherwise spend the rest of their time here in irrevocable pain or severe life altering discomfort, with no way to mend it all, it should be their choice to continue that existence or not. What gives you the right to decide that for them?
It happened to me once. It was life-changing... I could not tell if his enthusiasm was mania, drug-fueled, or the most amazing, God-given talent ever. But it was an evening that the friends that were there refer to often. He is a loss of a comic genius.

I was in the Army for 15 yrs. And I did 3 tours in Iraq. 2 of them during the worst times to be there. And every time we came back home from deployments there were veterans at the Airport ranging from WW2 to Vietnam and so on. They always thanked us for our service. Which honestly I never felt we deserved to hear that from them. No matter how shitty Iraq was or how many times I went to a funeral of someone we lost. I knew that what we we went through was NOTHING compared to the absolute shit storm those men went through during their times. They always had my total respect before I had ever joined. And after serving I have even more respect for them. Our Vietnam vets were treated horribly and they deserved so much better when they came home. Rest in peace brothers and sisters.
Honestly I had the same feeling man, I was on rotation in Romania for 3 months cause of the war in Ukraine and then came back to the states. I felt like I didn't deserve it cause the other guys I was with were in Europe for about a year.
This reminds me of the scene from jarhead where the Vietnam vet hopped on to the greyhound with the returning marines and welcomed them home before entering a 1000 yard stare. As inaccurate as the movie was(according to my teacher who’s a veteran), that scene really stuck with me.
I saw Robin Williams in Flubber for the first time and I always thought that he was a comedic genius. Rest in peace Robin and thank you for all the awesome movies

@@michelestewart4152 It was really said, i watched an interview that had both Williams and Cronauer. Robin Williams consulted with Adrian Cronauer so he could learn the mannerisms of Adrian. That part was written in and brings the humanity and the love for the men fighting there. It was when he really realized how much the Troops appreciated him. By putting that in the movie he was showing that they touched Adrian as much as he touched them. The scene was to show that he had never forgotten those men. It was there at the insistance of Adrian Cronauer himself. What he didnt know was just how much that scene touches the audience as well. Best scene in the movie because it truly shows a real event and Robin played it like no other could.

When he's grab-assing with the troops and you notice his demeanour change slowly as he realizes he may never see them again. It's incredible. You experience a similar feeling with Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting, etc. A true comic, a true human.
Steve Donaghey ITS BECAUSE HES A CANCERIAN♋
Robin Williams was wonderful human being and a great comedian. The world became a little darker when he passed. We love and miss you Robin.
Yep, both movies can start the tears flowing
I like the fact that he, Billy Crystal & Whoopi did benefits for the homeless. Never knew that when walked among us...
RIP mr Williams (1951 - 2014), hope all your mornings be good from now on.
RIP Robin Williams....GOOD MORNING VIETNAM will always be REMEMBERED
Steven Wiseblood Yep, for ever. I grew up with his movies; and sometimes even I just do the ''Goooooood morning, Vietnam!''.
Jonas Zeidler Good Morning Vietnam was a superb movie along with Dead Poets Society. RIP Robin you will be missed
xbatusai Hear here.
I yelled Good morning Vietnam at cosmetology school when I walked in the door this morning.. my executive director/friend started bussing out laughing. That made my day... 💞 thanks Mr. Robin Williams
Omg, a complete one off, I miss him dearly
story time: when this movie was being made, robin williams was asked to come up with some vietnam jokes, the director told him to just film himself making as many jokes as he could. robin then proceeded to make that tape, which consisted of 25 HOURS OF CONSECUTIVE VIETNAM JOKES. robin williams was truly a brilliant man. it saddens me so much to see how much this man was suffering, he managed to entertain millions of people and make so many happy while he himself was struggling so deeply. he literally could not go more than 6 months without checking himself into a mental hospital. when he would make the brilliant jokes that we all know and love, it pained him, because he simply could not stop, rambling on and on.
Well said, he was a real hero.
Adrian Joseph Cronauer, real-life "Good Morning, Vietnam" DJ, is dead at 79 today R.I.P.
Uh how do you know what robin wanted...are you just making speculation because it makes you feel better or what?
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain
If that is indeed the case, and the reason for it, then i am ok with Robin doing what he did.
I would do the same thing. No hesitation or questions asked
And before you rain Hell down on me, for my apparant heartlessness and maliciousness, consider this.
If you were given the following choices:
1: Dying in a matter of seconds or minutes at most.
2: slowly, but absolutely, losing your personality. Losing your memories. losing everything that made you the person you are today. And eventually losing control of your body, and of everything else.
One day at a time. For months, or years, at a time
Withering away to the point of dying
THEN finally dying
Which among those would *you* choose?
(Anybody here that has worked with those cursed with altzheimers & dementia know what I'm talking about)
I have always been a believer in merciful deaths. If someone faces a slow and agonizing end to their life, or will otherwise spend the rest of their time here in irrevocable pain or severe life altering discomfort, with no way to mend it all, it should be their choice to continue that existence or not.
What gives you the right to decide that for them?

God it must’ve been such a treat to see him work live

They gave you something they never had
Honestly I had the same feeling man, I was on rotation in Romania for 3 months cause of the war in Ukraine and then came back to the states. I felt like I didn't deserve it cause the other guys I was with were in Europe for about a year.
Damn bro
This reminds me of the scene from jarhead where the Vietnam vet hopped on to the greyhound with the returning marines and welcomed them home before entering a 1000 yard stare. As inaccurate as the movie was(according to my teacher who’s a veteran), that scene really stuck with me.
The man was a more than a legend and we all miss him.
It feels like the cast couldn't keep a straight face while doing this masterpiece of a film
Robin Williams
One of the best. The world is poorer now he has passed.
Mr Anderson songs from film Good Morning
I miss you together robin williams
It makes it worse that he killed himself
The world just doesn't deserve Robin Williams.
But richer for having been here.
" Rrrrr wrong speed. we got it on the wrong speed. For those of you who are recovering from a hang over that's going to sound just right." Lol
What a amazing man, truly miss him, may your soul rest my friend ❤️
I saw Robin Williams in Flubber for the first time and I always thought that he was a comedic genius.
Rest in peace Robin and thank you for all the awesome movies
Can we please just have Robin Williams back, the world sucks without him
Would he be okay with us preforming a ritual to bring him back?
+Joe G Sign me up to help out with the reincarnation ritual. Can we lose some of the jokers on C SPAN in exchange for Mr. Williams? Please?
+Joe G I need a dead pig head, human sacrifice and a fire pit surrounded by satanic symbols. That's all we need for the ritual
+Epic-Evan let exchange Justin Bieber for Robin Williams, nobody would care anyway.
+TheLaughIndustry Dude, that's a bargain right there.
Saddest yet most uplifting part was when he was talking to the troops.
@@Saucy-ws6jc he meant the troops on the trucks, because he could actually see the troops he was entertaining
It made it sad just because you knew not all of them were going home

That ending hits hard " I wont for get any of you" his last words to those men
This really happened to the real Adrian Cronauer, it really affected him and Robin Williams played the scene perfectly. Knowing that you are going home but the men you are speaking with, many won't go home. Such a poignant part expertly portrayed. And a heartbreaking moment 💔
yeah.... I remember seeing that on UA-cam and broke down at that point knowing what happened to him
I wonder if that last sentence was scripted or ad libbed, because, it was perfect.
I see you have a Stocking pic, a man of Culture I see. :)
Rest in Power icon. Robin Williams is the best (voice) actor of all time. This guy made this world such a better place and he knew it, but was troubled with his depressions and pressure, sad that this world still disappoints people with depressions!
"ITS HOT, REAL HOT DAMN HOT!!!" lol
Sgt. Major Dickerson: (Pointing to his chevrons) What does three up and three down mean to you, airman?
Cronauer: End of an inning?
I always thought that was hilarious
As a former belligerent Lance cpl, I always loved that line.
Most classic line of the whole movie....
Lmfao
Still can't believe he's gone!
Thanks for being here when we need it the most.
Man, I miss him so much….. always would bring people to tears, what a natural talent. The world grew a bit colder once we lost Robin…. Please friends, check in on those around, even the ones who “seem” to have it together… Rest In Peace Robin
The fact that most of Robin's lines in this movie were improvised by himself , just show how much of a legend he was .
RIP Robin
Good Night, Vietnam. Rest in Peace. We will miss you. Unforgetable.
Valcry are you kidding we're trying to forget!
Still my favorite actor. No one has come close.
Thanks for helping us wake up when we need it the most.
I got see Robin Williams in person at a USO show in Kuwait 2003. He was so raw but, I never laugh so hard in my life.
Lucky man
Ofcourse he would've been raw he was telling it as it is/was in front of adult males so he could say whatever he wanted to say without any feelings of reprisal fighting back
Just came here after watching a recording of that show. Amazing
"ANYTHING JUST PLAY IT LOUD OKAY!!" get's me everytime
My 3 kids used to recite those lines every road trip!
“Well you guys take care of yourselves…I won’t forget ya”
A TRUE Comical GENIUS..RIP Robin..thank you for all the laughs
6:56 he is definitely laughing at his own joke here, which is making me laugh even more
and it true as well in many ways what he said
Robin Williams was the world's most talented actor and comedian. He was a genuine person who had a beautiful soul. I hope he has found peace and happiness wherever he is with God's warm embrace. The world is definitely a sadder place without him in it, but I am grateful he made all of us laugh. I always smile when I think of this wonderful man. RIP always, RW. :-)
Did you know him personally
@Sharon Jensen I love the host Parkinson laughed out of his mind with Robin its so much fun to watch !!😀
Unfortunately killing yourself gets you in hell, I heard that's in the bible so
Haha
What a pity that Robin Williams was lost to the world at a time when he would have had the greatest scriptwriter in Donald Trump.
All right guys say good bye to the radio star. So very sad, we all had to say good bye to a genius, an actor, writer and one of the funniest comic talents that ever walked this earth.
“How can you describe your testicles?” 😂😂😂😂 never gets old
"I won't forget ya" the change of face is haunting.. Such a good actor.

There was a real sense of sincerity about it. And as long as people have a heart and a sense of humour, the late great Robin Williams will always be remembered.
We won't forget you Robin.
“I won’t forget you”
No Robin. WE won’t forget YOU. ❤️
The ending is a good part also , it brings tears to my eyes

Hey, can you tell me what's your name? "My name is Roosevelt E. Roosevelt." Roosevelt, what town are you stationed in? "I'm stationed in Poontang." Well, thank you, Roosevelt. What's the weather like out there? "It's hot! Damn hot! Real hot! Hottest things is my shorts. I could cook things in it. A little crotch pot cooking." Well, tell me what it feels like. "Fool, it's hot! I told you again! Were you born on the sun? It's damn hot! It's so damn hot, I saw little guys, their orange robes burst into flames. It's that hot! Do you know what I'm talking about?" What do you think it's going to be like tonight? "It's gonna be hot and wet! That's nice if you're with a lady, but ain't no good if you're in the jungle!" This man was one in a trillion. The fact that he improvised that one scene shows what a genius he was.
😂lol
Don Rickles, John Belushi and Mel Blanc on occasion were great improvisers too.
Still one of the best movies ever made. Change the mind of a Clone trooper and Zygerian Prince.
What a blessing. Funny, hysterical and to the point!!!
When he said "goooood morning Vietnam" i got chills. He's a legend!
The last scene has always hit a chord, with the soldiers heading off in the trucks, knowing that many didn't return from the war. But also to the point today, it feels like Robin is saying goodbye to us, leaving us with all his great memories. Good Morning Vietnam was one of my favourite movie growing up.
Thank you Robin, for the impression you've made on my life. We all miss you. 😥
