@@destructionman1 i feel that, i prided myself on being able to play every trivium album start to finish for years....then they got Alex... and im lucky if i can play 1 or 2 songs from their more recent albums now XD
SAME! I basically have learnt how to play drums by patting my knees and just learning the basics of coordination and by looking the people around me or watching this types of videos
and there are some songs that are like "meh doesn't seem that hard" and then you see the real thing and is like "welp... i was totally wrong"@@PHNX-ls5bt
His creativity is just on another level. I mean, the speed and precision is one thing, but I’ve just never seen a metal drummer move in the way he does. He just seems to use his kit in an entirely different way and be so much more creative than any other metal drama that I’ve seen, it’s incredible how he doesn’t try and hog the spotlight, but at the same time manages to put the most creative beats down throughout the entire song. I love watching these videos of Alex because it just gives me such a great appreciation for what he does. Thank you Alex
I don’t play any instruments but I do understand how much skill and effort this takes. The scary part about Alex playing is he makes it look so easy and that it’s just natural for him to pump out such a thrashy style. To use all four limbs in unison at all different paces it’s remarkable. I envy him and hope to god that they keep him. He is their biggest asset.
I truly believe Alex Bent is one of the best modern metal drummers out there rn. His playing is insanely fluid and he really just completes Trivium's sound. I really hope you guys stick with Alex for years to come.
Love Alex’s drumming, best drummer Trivium has ever had. He’s taken them to a whole new level. He’s technical and creative, that’s what I like most about him. His beats aren’t boring to watch, it makes ya wanna see what he does next.
Travis is the most overrated drummer since the turn of the millennium. And wasn't really good live, towards the end he was horrendous. The reason we get songs now live that we didn't get before is literally because not only can Alex play them in the studio, but actually live too without making the band sound like shit. Can rely on him as a metronome.
As a guitar player, I always wondered how he played the chorus! He is really doing Trivium justice without be overbearing, He knows what parts bring out the best in the song and he is humble about it. He is truly dedicated to his instrument like the rest of the band! Looking forward to what he continues to bring to the table.
As a drummer I learn by watching videos like this. Alex, you are truly an amazing musician. I am a huge Trivium fan and firmly believe you make the band better. Thank you for posting these amazing videos. I long await the day I can see you play live. You are a huge inspiration to me. Love everything you do 🤘🏻
Incredible playthrough, and how about this: Alex added a double bass part at 3:13 that originally wasn't even in his own studio recording, but he always does that live!
I swear he doesn’t even have his eyes open he is that in one with his drum piece. I absolutely love Alex, he is such an asset to Trivium and is one hell of a weapon on the drum set.
I've said this before, Travis was instrumental in the development of Trivium, but man Alex is THE drummer for Trivium. Just fits like he's been there since day one.
Alex is an amazing drummer, and he's one of my personal favorite drummers. His drumming talent is even one of the reasons that I learned to play the drums (aside from that being my favorite instrument to hear in music and my dad being a drummer for over 20 years). Please upload more of these drum playthrough vids whenever you can Trivium. I love to see it.
Thank you once again for making me cry with joy over how amazing you play drums. And thank you for making me feel like such an inadequate drummer at the same time. 🤘🤘🤘🤘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Alex (Drum Slayer) Bent.... I've saw you live a few times and knew you was an awesome drummer. But damn brother after I've watched these drum play throughs. I'm absolutely just blew away. It's so mesmerizing to watch and the technique is so f 'ing insanely immortal it's just unexplainable brother. Damn your definitely one of my favorite drummers in the world now.And for those who have not ever voted you in the top, they do not know when they see such an underrated awesome drummer. Cause to me your not getting the praise you definitely deserve. I am mainly a guitarist, and also been playing drums for 50 years now and brother . I would give anything to have the coordination and talent you have. It's more than that man. It's a gift from the deepest realms of this galaxy. I give you my highest level of respect. And I want to thank you for the chance to be witnessing one of the most incredible drummers in the universe for sure. Always remember there's none out there that I think holds a candle to your excellence. Godspeed brother. Best wishes. Keep up the insane immortal insanity !!! Good F'ing God,what a pleasure to watch!!!
Alex is so much fun to watch, amazing drummer! Keep it up guys and get to Cleveland again at some point so I can see you live. I missed you the last time you were out this way unfortunately.
Alex has to be one of my favourite drummers ever. Dude blends speed and style amazingly. Him joining Trivium is the best thing to happen to the band since Matt becoming the frontman, and that says a lot when they've been incredible all along.
He's definitely a great drummer and on the MetaL scene we've got the greatest drummers ever, no matter what they say about other genres neither... Drummers like Alex Bent, Eloy Casagrande, George Kollias, Tomas Haake of Meshuggah and so are Untouchables!! 🤘🤘🥁✅️
Alex is just amazing. The last 3 Trivium albums have been STELLAR and he's been a big part of that! This band's best days are probably ahead of them! I can't even imagine how great a follow-up to In The Court Of The Dragon could be. I mean just listen to this song, it's a masterpiece!
I can't believe I'm 48 years old and first time hearing this band.,needless to say the drummers a monster on the double bass and the cleanliness and technicality with speed is impressive, he's a badass, but the collective which makes trivium is interesting. I will explore further, but I think from what I've heard, I might have found something can listen to with joy in my heart. I can't do today's "metal" what ever the fuck it's called, I call it sucks. But from time to time I hear something that blows me away.
I’m the same way haha. I wanted to play drums at first, but my parents didn’t wanna have to deal with the noise of a drum set. So they got me an acoustic guitar. And I wasn’t interested at first, I struggled. Until a friend of mine wanted to start a band and we started pushing each other to get better.
Alex is just an incredibly mesmerizing drummer and still the perfect fit for the sounds Trivium has aimed for. Definitely an epic drummer
I agree🥁🤟
Watching Alex on the drums is just awesome. There needs to be more of this perspective.
It's almost hypnotic. I love these videos
@@Cyberdragunz so effortless, almost hypnotic in nature.
No matter where I am in my life journey, I always come back to Trivium.
Nothing but love and appreciation:)
I'm a big visual learner when it comes to drums so you guys posting these really helps me understand how to play your guy's parts. Thank you so much
Me too
Them posting this helps me understand that I'll never be able to play his parts :)

One of the best drummers currently.

Dude looks so chill and you can see it in his hands and wrists. Song is kickass and this drummer is awesome.
Many people don’t understand how much skill it takes to play like this

I wouldn't even know where to begin! It looks like a good workout, too.
One of my favourites off the album; absolutely deadly drumming!

Simply brilliant... Alex is a total beast at the kit. Horns up

I cannot fathom how relaxed he is at playing at this intense of a level. Absolutely amazing!
@@redims8967Look at his previous bands. Trivium knew what they were doing when they picked him.
Best drummer! I hope he stays forever in this band.
A crisis of revelation next please 🙈 alex such a beast, the best thing to happened in trivium after Travis

The man is so clean, with such a relaxed grip and technique.
Absolute pleasure to watch you Alex, you are from another planet man .
This song has one of the best grooves imo. Alex killing it as usual, could easily mistake this for the album recording.
Incredible playthrough, and how about this: Alex added a double bass part at 3:13 that originally wasn't even in his own studio recording, but he always does that live!

Delightfully. It's like you're not playing drums, but drinking coffee, so easily and calmly)
One of my Favorites of this amazing Band!!!
The technique is just absurd... Jesus Christ.... Super clean 🔥

Geesh , Alex just blows me away how he locks in the three of them. Killer!
Absolute BEAST 🤘🔥
I just love watching this guy work!
Incredible techniques, this is an artwork
Really appreciate the live drums instead of playing over the album
Alex is so much fun to watch, amazing drummer! Keep it up guys and get to Cleveland again at some point so I can see you live. I missed you the last time you were out this way unfortunately.
Alex has to be one of my favourite drummers ever. Dude blends speed and style amazingly. Him joining Trivium is the best thing to happen to the band since Matt becoming the frontman, and that says a lot when they've been incredible all along.
Love how his snare sounds like pure gun shot 😂 love that sound, Chris Adler has a good machine gun snare sound too
I love when you guys release playthroughs of this song, either solo or together. Such a badass track and you each crush it with ease!
I love Alex's drum parts and this was awesome and mesmerising to watch. Thank you for sharing this and I'd love to see more.

Thank you Trivium for feeding us with these drum cuts. Maybe we can have guitar or bass cuts now for dessert?
God I've been waiting for more of these videos. Love you Alex, you're amazing!!!
2:28 Fucking that love that ride and bell combo there
I love the way Alex writes his parts
That chorus part. Hit Tom twice , 1 snare. 👍🏼👏👏
One of the best modern drummers
I wish the drums were mixed like this in the album
What feeling, the machine man 🔥🔨🐉
As a guitarist im guilty of not taking time to appreciate the drums. But wow. That is impressive
This guy is an incredible drummachine 🔥🔥🔥
So effortless and smooth.
Just an awesome drummer 🔥
Finally some new Alex Bent content!
Can we have more of these please? Its an art to watch this man grace the drum kit
Holy fucking shit! Alex is a goddamn octopus!!
Alex makes metal drumming look effortless.
Fucking incredible skills.
The most technically advanced and versatile drummer that Trivium has ever had
Guys rocked Cambridge last month , was the hottest concert I’ve ever been too, T shirt soaked
I stand by it. Alex saved Trivium.

The final piece of the Trivium puzzle. Need to call you guys Quadrium from now on!
Esse cara é um monstro, um dos melhores atualmente, acrescentou muito no Trivium.
Love the chorus parts on this song
Alex is a beast. Drummers are the time keepers of the band and thankfully, Alex is a human metronome. Always quality video's from you guy's!
Alex never disappoints!
